I mean, i get that both games have action combat, but the old gow were more like bayo and dmc than the new one imo.

And you can still do crazy combo that require fast reflex and shit like Vick showed.

The skill ceiling is still pretty high and the average gamer or even a good player like me are not gonna reach it easily (or at all)

Does anyone else feel that God of war 2018 is the only game to fluidly combine ranged and melee combat and have depth to both .

Most games only seem to have one or the other. God of war 2018 is the acception.

lol im only comparing because im going from one game to the next in a span of a day.

And I am a huge fan of GOW's combat. I dont think anyone here spent hundreds of hours in musphelheim and Nilfheim grinding out challenges just for fun like I did. It was my GaaS game of 2018.

I don't know about facial animations, but the game always looked graphically inferior to demons remake, ratchet, hfw and tlou lame remake, it only looks better than returnal imo (and not even in every area)

I'm super hyped and the game is gonna be my goty almost for sure, but i have zero expectations graphic wise, i expect a great ps4 game running on ultra details+ high framerate, if there is something more than that i'm gonna be pleasantly surprised (and even considering that, the game is probably gonna look better than 90% of games on the market, just not the very cream of the crop)

That doesn't mean that the game is not gonna have a lot of wow moments thanks to the art design, scale and set pieces.

I saw some awesome scale and that's when I noted out. So the grandeur and epic scale will elevate it to incredible. I was just quite stunned by atreus facial animation etc. Deffo looks like a ps4 game and an similar to 2018. I feel like scale and epicness is where its going to shine.

They close at 9PM like they usually do but open back up at 10 to finalize all the sales. Then you simply pick up the copy at midnight. I like this system because you arent waiting in line for half an hour at midnight while people pay with coins, coupons and gift cards.

Super sweet OT! What is the best video settings option for first playthrough on PS5? 40fps ??

I've been pondering this for soo long.. My opinion and what I'm going to do is start with Favour Quality @ 120hz with VRR, so 1800-2160p @ unlocked 40fps. Then I'm going to try out the Favour Performance 1440-2160p @ 60fps. I'm not interested in locked 1440p just to get over 60fps, I'd rather the higher resolution. Digital Foundry said with the performance mode of 1440-2160p they didn't really see it drop below 1800p. I prefer the unlocked 40fps quality mode because it has the full graphic details, in the performance mode they have cut some shadowing, higher asset details, textures and reflections.

At how much FPS does it generally move?
Got a 4K VRR TV but can't choose between the unlocked 1440p unlocked 60 FPS mode with VRR or the 1800-2160p unlocked 40 FPS mode with VRR cause I also want that tasty resolution jump.

That’s all you will get. If you have VRR/120hz enabled, then you will get unlocked in either mode.

If you disable VRR, but not 120hz, you will get 40Hz in quality, and 60Hz in performance.

If you disable 120Hz, you will get 30 and still 60 respectively.

I would go quality since it will probably feel close to 60 the whole time. But the unlocked 60 to be like 80-90 sounds nice as well, especially since their machine learning up scaling is really well done.

Just bounce back and forth and see what you prefer.

My TV is 75", and prob too big for the room (I like the theatrical feel), but the downside is (sometimes) noticing the difference in resolution. Still can't beat FPS though.

There is one. It’s around 1900p, and you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference.
