What game are you currently playing?

Elden Ring - Maliketh, the Black Blade, now here's finally a boss which destroyed me beyond belief 19 damn times. Every single boss up until this point took a max of 5 tries, but here comes Maliketh with some real tight bullshit like cutting your max HP, a debuff burning your HP and also jumping around like a monkey. And non-stop attacking as well obviously haha. Fantastic boss battle, i know a said i'd use a mimic tear wen my boss death count exceeds 15, but i couldn't just use it yet. Just wanted to push a little more and BAM. Allright, got a few zones left - the Ashen Capitals, Consecrated Snowfields and the Haligtree.

Time for Malenia.

In a bit of a weird mood, just finished Haven.

I am half waiting for fire emblem and persona so don't want to commit to anything so just playing crisis core reunion. Played the OG. The missions are boring but seeing numbers go up so it will drag me through. I suspect that I will finish it by the end of next week.

Played through chapter 5 of A Plague Tale: Innocence and feels like I've seen what the game has to offer and now we're just repeating. Similar to a cut-down english version of TLoU but stealth is simplistic and combat not that great. Has an overwhelming brown look that I'm not really feeling. It helps dramatically to play in windowed mode instead of full-screen but still looks washed-out. Will give it a couple more tries.

Finished NFS Unbound (XSX), it was solid overall. Going to start NFS Heat (XSX) tonight and also continue my save in Bayonetta 3 (Switch).

How is NFS Unbound?
Sorry, just seen this! It’s decent - fun to play, with a solid challenge. But, it does suffer (as far as I’m concerned) with the usual open-world racer repetitiveness. My personal favourite NFS games are NFS on the 3DO, or Porsche Challenge.

I really don’t see the benefit in open-world racers. It was the same with Burnout; I much preferred the original games, than Paradise.

To set expectations more fairly for this game, you should just think of it as a simple puzzle game that happens to have the look of a third person action adventure game. I’d say there’s only two actual combat sections in the game and the stealth is just a puzzle mechanic. If you fail the puzzle, you’re spotted and killed.

Finished A Plague Tale: Innocence good game, just like the first, can't wait to see what the studio can do next. If they want to continue they need to do radical changes to keep you interested. They nailed the characters and emotional part. Starting Man of Medan.

I can't seem to get into anything at the moment. I've played games from my backlog yesterday and today but I didn't really enjoy any of them. Divinity: Original Sin 2, Dragon's Dogma, Kingcome Come: Deliverance and Mortal Shell. I've started FFXII just now. I got about halfway through it back when I had the PS2 version but never got around to finishing it.

Just finished FF7 remake, and would recommend watching it on YT more so than playing lol. It’s hard to know who to recommend it to.

Next up is Ghost of Tsushima, and then Kingdom Hearts 3. I’m hoping KH3 will be better than FF7 remake in pacing at least.

Oh… and potentially getting back into league of legends. *gulp*

Damn, maybe you need a little break from gaming. I think those three games are rock solid. If you aren't feeling them, my only other advice is to try a different genre for a while.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Started High on Life, did two bounties so far. Game is pretty fun, the shooting feels nice and the chests that are scattered around the level provide a nice change of pace with some exploration.

I'm loving the humor too, it has been a while since I laughed this much at a game.

Forcing myself to play through a little bit of MW2 campaign every day, but I find it kinda boring.

Playing through Grounded, which is great.

Want to start Pentiment, and might try going back to A Plague Tale 2 after a thread here reminded me of it.

Finished Duke Nukem Forever. Didn't think it was going to be this bad, but it sucked the big one. I know, game was in dev hell, but this game is so painfully dull I can't believe I wasted 10 hours of my life getting through to the end. And it's a shame. I like Duke as a character. With the right writers I'm convinced he could work, even in today's climate. Skip the nudity and low brow toilet humor and bring him out as a sarcastic and witty anti hero. There are a couple of jokes in the game that could be funny if the writers had a more biting and satirical edge to it. Have Duke comment on the state of video game industry. Poke fun at mechanics, other franchises, bad movies, modern day politics, micro transactions, wokeness, broken games, social media, whatever. Instead Duke gets material that isn't even funny for a 14 year old. And the game itself is pure shit too, with garbage level design, boring enemies and bosses, and long ass load times. I really hope Duke gets another shot and the devs do it right. Duke of Switch edition in Bulletstorm proved ge could be funny without being cringe.

Finished Danganronpa V3

This might be my favorite out of the three games. But that ending and twist was lame. The Class Trials sections are fun though

Whoo, boy!

Just wrapped up Chapter 2 of Stella Glow, and this is kinda how Chapter 3 begins...

There's a lot to like about this game, but whoof...plenty that's making me feel a tad uncomfortable. Not gonna use spoiler tags, since I'm still quite early in the game and the game released about eight years ago. The final boss of the last chapter was the mayor of a small town just outside the main kingdom. Evidently, he was farming narcotics (I shitchu not) called Mopium, a highly addictive drug (as described by one of your allies). :D So, toward the end of the battle, I learn a skill called "Conduct," which allows me to conduct a witch I'm standing next two. The animation consists of me stabbing the witch just below the neck.

Keep in mind, she's an ally. Anyway, in the top pic, this is the "Tuning Hall," where you...tune the chicks. Got a feeling folks who are into certain fetishes would likely dig the premise more than I do (I keep my finger firmly on the right shoulder button to skip through dialogue). But it's a fairly decent SRPG, nonetheless. Camera control on the battlefield pretty much sucks the big wafer.

Tried Biomutant today. Its pretty rough. Bailed after an hour. The combat can be fun in short bursts.
Yeah, it is that kind of game that feels like it is going to fall apart any second. I really wasn't sure if I wanted to stick with it, but it gets relatively better after the world opens up and exploration by itself is kind of fun. And I think the game's saving grace is its weirdness. Clearly not a game for those who find that senile narrator or all the silly words/names annoying.

Played a demo of the Switch version of Kirby last night. I don't care if its a game aimed towards 8 year old kids, its absolutely delightfully charming. In fact as soon as it ended I bought the full version on Amazon. Didn't even know what it was called, just bought it. Can't wait to get it, its my first experience of the little shit too.

My wife was dropping hints for us to play through this together. Is there 2 player through the entire campaign or is it split into sections?

BioShock Infinite, stopped playing a few years back, need to really finish it.

The visuals still look amazing all these years later.

There is 2 player co-op through the entire campaign. Only 1 player can play as Kirby and switch powers, the other plays as a waddle dee armed with a spear. My boys played the entire game like that and loved it!

I've been getting into graphic novels lately and I hadn't been played too much of anything really. Some Elden Ring here and there, now that I took out the Fire Giant on both PC/PS5 playthroughs. I might do the 3 Fingers ending path on PC but I don't know if it matter at this point in the game.

I started yet another character on Elden Ring. This time a dual whip build.

Also playing through NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered, The Pedestrian, and R&C Rift Apart.

still on ffvii. the game is fun but i'm such a slow player and can't always find the time to sit down and play for long. its been a while since i started it so i'm forcing myself to finish it quickly as possible because i keep buying new games and starting to get a backlog again. i done so well cutting it down.

i was trying to do everything in the game but i need to skip it now so i can quickly finish. plus i kept dying and having to replay parts over again because i wasn't saving often enough lol. the last time i played that's what happened and i didn't touch the game for about a month until today.

my save was where you go to clouds home town and there are cloaked spooky dudes hanging about everywhere. i went into the mansion to see sephiroth and unlocked the safe. i died during a boss fight and that's when i gave up.

so today i replied that part except i skipped the safe and went up to the mountain. got to rocket town, saved up 30000 to get lifetime pass for the gold saucer place, went on a date with tifa (wasn't trying to get her. i didn't care who i got), and now i'm just outside the temple.

Well I'm done GOTY 2022, but up for promotion so focusing on getting my stuff in order for the interview. Plan to pick up Front Mission Remake on switch though when I have more free time after.

The Haligtree is one big difficulty spike, God damn. So i figured out that this game has a bell curve like difficulty. Starts hard, gets progressively easier, then gets spiked to fucking Hell hard at the end. I was laughing my ass off at some of the situations i got caught up in. I was like "what in God's name made the dev put that/make that like THAT? Why?"

Definitely one of the most meat and potato games I've played recently.
Nothing stood out for me personally.
The rats look stupid too.

Currently playing Grand Prix Legends. It's astonishing how they could develop such amazing physics back in 1998 i think.
Tried Grand Prix 4 also, but honestly Grand Prix Legends is way better let alone the FFB effects.

After a month of playing practically nothing except a couple hours of horizon fw, I jumped back into breath of the wild this weekend. I've got a game going in master mode. I heard some people didn't like Master mode, but I love it.

Heat is going to be difficult to play with that 30 fps cap compared to Unbound's 60 fps.

These companies are so lazy. They have Heat on their EA Play service yet can't be arsed to update the framerate. Same is true for Ubisoft and to a degree MS as well.

So many games deserving of updates that will never happen even though they would bolster their services.

Horizon Forbidden West.
So far I'm enjoying it, it's a very safe and straightforward sequel, basically more of the same with some new mechanics, weapons and enemies. But I really liked the first one so I'm enjoying this one too.
Also the visual are amazing, I know it's cross gen and all but the fact a console game can look this nice while simultaneously being open world and 60fps is the first thing I've played on ps5 that actually gives me a next gen vibe.

No wonder I was playing and thought "this games seems slower than Unbound."

Dark Souls III: no need to elaborate much, this is obviously a great game. I’m progressing steadily and enjoying the smaller scale in comparison to Elden Ring.

Ace Combat 7: feels like I’m resuming my last playthrough of Ace Combat 3. The gameplay from the PS1 days is so good it doesn’t need to be changed much. The cinematography of the few cutscenes is amazing and the graphics during gameplay just as impressive. I like the fictional setting too.

Resident Evil 2 Remake: the first Resident Evil I’m playing properly. It’s very stressful since zombies are hard to kill and items scarce. I love the level design in the police department and the small puzzles here and there.
