Games you remember, names you don't

I remember playing a game on a PS1 booth in a shopping mall; it was 3d and the character was a kid with a (cartoonish) gun of some kind, and I believe he was wearing a baseball cap or something like that. I didn’t play it for long, when I tried the game the character was currently in some kind of greyish dungeon or ruin or whatever. Unfortunately that‘s all I remember.

Was it Robot Alchemical Drive on PS2? Sounds an awful lot like it.

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S REAL!!

I’ve wondered for years lmao Thanks for this my dude! Now I can finally see if it’s as fun as my memory made it seem.

I'm trying to remember the name of a game that isn't released yet. It looks like either a hack and slash. Possibly souls like. It seems biblical themed. There was a trailer for it I saw on IGN I think around February. The title had a word in it used often in the bible. Can't remember for crap.

Hi guys. I am currently tormented with vague memories of a NES game, but i just can't think of the name.

The game is like contra, as in a sidescroller shooter, with some special sectio s/stages where you were going up, trying to escape a rising water level (or some other hazard that was chasing you up).

I played it maybe 20 years ago on a Famiclone, so the title could be totslly different from what it really is.

Please, help me find inner peace!

My head still hurts.guys, please help

I realize this brings nothing to the conversation but every time I read the title of this thread this song plays in my head. Yes I'm old, and for anyone young enough to not know what real rock and roll sounds like just know this is what your parents were listening to when they made you.

I will see my old ass out now...

So there are two games I'm trying to remember, that I used to play with a friend on his PSX during high school (so mid-late 90's).

Fist one's a 3D fighting game, the arena was a floating platform and you could get a ring out. Main gimmick was that you had localized damage; next to your health bar you had a little diagram of your character, showing different body parts in different colours depending on how much damage that part took.
The only character I remember was a white, humanoid dragon thing; when knocked over the platform he could grab on to it with his tail, and he had a short-ranged breath attack performed with forward-forward-Circle (why the heck do I remember suck obscure details lol).

Second game was a 3D beat'em all. Only two details I remember are that you could use a lot of the environment as weapons (one of the playable characters was a BIG man who could even rip the engines from the cars parked on the street to bash opponents with), and that at one point there's a sequence in a large elevator with enemies coming in wave after wave.

Does any of these ring a bell?

Not sure about your first, but your second sounds an awful lot like Fighting Force. Big man and an elevator section from what I recall:

Your first game sounds a lot like Fighting Vipers, but that one was not released on the first Playstation. It was arcade and Sega Saturn

(*I answered my own question while writing this, but...)
I remember this old Mac game, there were at least two of them actually, and you rotated your arm around with the mouse to throw things...

Dark Castle

There was also a different Mac game from around that same time but a little later because it was in color, a point-and-click adventure but with a little more mechanics than LucasArts games in using objects if I remember right, and it was set on or started on a beach. It keeps ringing in my memory as "Silicon Beach", but that's the name of a company (in fact, it turns out it's the same company as the first game I was trying to remember.)

I used to play some weird game on PC, which I believe had to do with Garfield of al characters (I believe you were playing him, can't remember). The game view was 2.5D like the original Fallout, with tiles. Also graphically it was similar, but the style was completely different. I remember back then I was just walking around, collecting things and avoiding enemies. There was some futuristic shit in there too, some area's but it's a really vague memory.
Must've been for Windows 98 or XP I think, late 90's early 2000's.

Bunping.
I tried googling "games like Contra" and checked a dozen however no luck.

Iammore than sure it was a side scroller with those hazard sections.

When I was very young, there was a convenience store with pretty much the last arcade machine remaining in my area. It was really old - not like Asteroids old, but old. It was really popular with the older kids because they had been playing it for years as it actually saved your progress via password or some other method. So if you ran out of quarters no big deal - just come back next week after your next allowance allotment and pick up where you left off.

You played as either some kind of knight / barbarian or wizard - I can't recall if it was one or the other (like a choice) or both at different times. It was a side scroller with some light RPG elements. I remember there were merchants at points in which you could buy new gear or other items.

Another bump. I am not giving up.

I remember a 90's RPG game all I remember from it is that you could listen to it's soundtrack in a cd player and the one song is call steamworld or something with steam. It think it plays like baldur gate or might or magic (hell it could be one of them but I can't find the song)

A DOS game I played at school in the 80s. A stick-like figure jumping on platforms. I remember enjoying it a lot but I cannot for the life of me remember its name or find it anywhere :(

This might be a stretch, but could it be Arcanum? It's literally an isometric RPG in a steampunk world with magic.

Haha, found it! It was something called Zero Divide; I had to go through the entire list of PS1 3D fighting games since it was obviously near the end.

Oh man, I was hoping that I would see a topic about this. A few years ago I saw a trailer for a next gen game in development, but it's name escapes me. The problem is that I remember the trailer visuals and comments section, but can't remember the name of the game.

It had a female protagonist that wore Blue Jeans or some sort of Jeans and fought with a katana type sword. She was killing creatures in what looked like a regular neighborhood, and I remember thinking that a sign post that said "make china great again" or something similar was a little too on the nose.

That and the fact that they never once showed the woman's face in cutscene or in battle.

Maybe someone can help me out because it has been nagging at me lately because that is all I can remember of it.

Most of the comments were talking about how good her ass looked and how we could not see her face.

Not sure about the signpost or the regular neighborhood part.

I honestly and sadly do not know. I tried finding the trailer again because I thought it might have been something shown at either E3 or the game awards, but their games wiki pages did not have the information, so I am at a complete loss. I will keep trying.

There was this game I played on the original Xbox where you wake up in like some sort of lab or whatever. All I can remember is you escape and you have like powers in your fists to fight through the game. It was in first person. It's really hard to explain but I wonder if anybody knows what game I'm talking about. It's been bothering me for ages now.

Can any kind soul help name two games from my childhood, ones from the C64 era, the other was an Amiga game..

1st. All I can remember was that on the cover was an ant type creature riding on what looked like a green dinosaur (It was also on the loading screen, albeit in C64 goodness..). The ant creature? Was holding a shotgun or rifle. The game had you riding the beast from left to right whilst shooting..

2nd. It was an Amiga game where you was in a space ship that flew to different planets, you would land and have to converse with aliens by using different symbols at the bottom of the screen, it was hit and miss as you couldnt speak their dialect. You chose places on the star map with your ingame finger..

I know the 1st game will be nigh on impossible but the 2nd was a very loved game by quite a few..

A true hero sir, I salute your memory! 🍻

This game just popped in my mind and I just can't seem to remember it's title: a golf like game in a dystopian setting for PC. Must have been a Win 95 release. It had the prerendered graphics style. Somehow I seem to associate the game with Bad Mojo, maybe due to similar aesthetics and time of release. It was likely not actual golf or had golf in the title, since I can't find it using a search engine, but I clearly remember the mechanics were the same; hitting a ball on a course. No fancy physics.

Okay I'm going to go for it again, it's still bugging me! The only guy who would know instantly what game I'm talking about, is dead. :(

- Game from 94-99 era, at least on PC. Was released in EU.
- Sci-fi racing game
- Had unique drivers and their vehicles to choose from. One guy was some sort of a science guy (maybe an alien) with a vehicle that was basically 1 large wheel with the cockpit in the middle.
- Vehicles were really varied in appearance, might've had their own attributes.
- There might've been weapons
- Tracks were futuristic with all sorts of loops etc.
- I THINK you could somehow see a portrait of an enemy driver / his vehicle while driving, perhaps triggered by passing or something.

I'm 99,999% certain the game's not Megarace 1 or 2, Cyberspeed, Dethkarz, Hi-Octane, Wipeout, Planet of Death or Killer Loop.

I'd think you'd remember it, but could it possibly be Star Wars Episode I Racer? There is of course a racer which is a wheel with the cockpit in the middle in that game. Probably others too though.

Otherwise, look at my list in my "Futuristic Racing Games List" thread, where I try to list every futuristic racing game that I know exists.

Since this thread is still somewhat active, I wanted to come in and post that after over a decade of searching for this game I've finally done it, I've found it. Tagging also A Black Falcon in it since it wasn't in his compendium of futuristic racing games.

I present to you: Maximum Roadkill (1996)

The game definitely is an obscure hot piece of garbage, but I have warm memories of playing it with my since-passed childhood friend.

I think I got most of the details right out of memory, but I couldnt find a video with any loops in the tracks. I also think what threw me off the trail was that the vehicles seem to be more like futuristic bikes instead of cars etc.

See, there's even the science guy with a monowheel vehicle!

One of my earlier memories was this little submarine game on an Apple computer we had in grade school. I don't remember much about it other than I think it had a shooting mechanism to it. I don't know what Apple computer it was but I looked forward to playing it every day.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
