It was the best selling Resident Evil title, and I certainly think Capcom will be remaking it next - I'm a bit of a Resident Evil fanboy so I'll gladly take any Resi they're offering!

RE5/6 need to be remade. In my opinion they are the weakest entries in the mainline series. They could actually be solid entries if they were substantially reworked. Personally, I would like to see Code Veronica get a remake next. It'll be like a new release for a lot of people as barely anyone actually played it.

I always laughed at some people who said Sheva was so bad at combat.

The player: Sheva, use this burrito as a weapon.

Player issue, I've played with enough human partners to say that AI was without a doubt better than most of them on pro difficulty; I couldn't even get past the gigante boss fight on pro with one of my friends, because he sucked at shooting the boulders and shit. AI? Aimbot fucking precision.

Also people complaining that the AI wastes ammo, even though they set the AI to "attack"; wtf do you expect it to do?
Give the AI weapons that take advantage of their precision, like the submachine gun and the sniper, and then remove any weapon that has overlap with your inventory and have them pickup something (like a grenade and then request it); they AI will then actually learn to automatically give you grenades and ammo you are using.

Every time I hear people saying the AI is bad, it just reminds me of people shitting on their team mates in pvp games; nah it's you bruv, you suck.

How is RE5 racist, please someone explain their reasons for thinking that to me? If the angle is white people going to Africa to enslave Africans then what if we go back further in time and look at when non whites came to Europe to enslave all the whites there? Every race has enslaved every race throughout history, especially their own. I think people just have this narrow vision of what racism, xenophobia and slavery is and they make submental opinions based on it.

If Leon was black in RE4 would that be racist? Him killing lots of caucasion spanish zombies? I don't understand this line of thinking at all.

Having a gun-toting companion at your back completely ruins the atmosphere of these games. It's cool if you just want an action co-op game, but that's not what I personally want from a Resident Evil game. That is mainly why I wasn't a huge fan of RE5 and 6, but I also didn't really hate them either.

So yeah, if they remade RE5, I would greatly prefer if they just gave Sheva and Chris their own separate campaigns you could go through similar to RE 1 and 2. I know co-op fans would hate that, but that's what I would personally want.

I found 5 to be intense at times. Specially the first major crowd attack when they chopped off the head of Chris's contact. I hope someday the BETA Chris only prototype leaks where there were crimson head type rushing zombies! Having Sheva kinda killed the scary part of being alone in a zombie crowd.

Resident evil 5 was absolutely amazing in single player and multiplayer I had S rank in single player and with human player for every mission.Even with the tank controls it was amazing mercaneriers was also amazing.
A remake with modern controls and updated graphics would be a dream.

I wouldn't mind a remake. For some reason I started this game back in the day and never finished it. RE6 I never touched. Together with a Code Veronica that are the only ones I never finished.

I think at this point if they do 5 and 6 they need to be drastic retellings of their stories to fit in with the other remakes. 1 also needs remaking first to fit in with the continuity and introduce new players of the series to Chris, Jill, Barry and Wesker properly.
Take 5 out of Africa if they really want to avoid the potential controversy but I don't really think they need to.
6 needs a complete wipe, replace Helena, Pierce and Jake with Jill, Claire and Barry (somehow. I know it's getting into personal fanfic crap at this point, but I dont care) and make it the OG characters swansong title, finally taking out Umbrella etc for good and have it lead into 7, completing the circle.
Then bring back Jill for 9, since she doesn't age now.

RE5 is already pretty glorious, though. It's an extremely camp action game at heart and the last hour or so fighting Wesker is still some of gaming's best.

As for the racism angle, the only thing they’d need to fix was the embarrassing “spearchucker” sections. I know a note “explains it“ (the virus made them do it! Dun dun dun!), but come on. You could easily have the same areas and give them a creepy feel without resorting to showing extremely outdated stereotypes. Besides that, we good.

It's a huge huge difference between the comunities in 4 and 5.

If you finnished the game on GC (maybe on other platforms as well, no clue), the credits show very touching scenes with the villagers before being transformed, living perfectly happy lifes with their families, wifes, husbands, children, grandchildren.
It may have not been a developed area in terms of modern utilities, but it was a self suficient little paradise.

I didn’t realize how many people disliked RE5. I absolutely love it. I thought it was totally awesome. I loved playing with my friend. I even found that the AI did pretty good. Whenever people say they dislike it they bring up inventory management and relate it to RE4. I could see the multiplayer not clicking for some, especially those who prefer to play alone.

Yeah. That's the biggest problem. Until the woke dragon fizzles out I'd prefer if they straight up just did Resident Evil 9 or ya'know give us what a lot of people want which is a Code Veronica remake.

The only thing that definitely won't fly well today, is the entire tribal section in RE5. They'd have to cut that section out entirely and replace it with something else. This is part of why I think they should do a complete reimagining of RE5, and make it closer to their original concept.

They'd still have to remove the tribe, but just replace them with something else.

Either way if they want to do another Remake, the choice won't be as obvious this time. Code Veronica is a lengthy game that wasn't exactly their best selling, and RE5 would have to go through a lot of changes. I don't think they'd be as eager to remake either of these as they were with the last two.

I must have made a huge mistake playing this game in single player because it was an incredibly frustrating experience. Played it shortly after my first re4 playthrough last year and it doesn't hold a candle to that game imo. Atmosphere is worse, level design, puzzles (there are pretty much no puzzles except that laughably dumb mirror one), story, characters, inventory, you name it. And again played solo which was apparently a mistake because co op seems to be pretty mandatory if you wanna have any fun whatsoever. I'm open to a remake, but please make it single player only capcom, my friends are lame and wont play with me lol.

Stereotype? You do realize that there's still to this day, there's villages in Africa that live like that? That's their culture.
It's no different than a spanish farmer getting infected and trying to cut your head off with an axe, just for asking him for directions.

I'm all for changing the game for the better, but not because of that.
