Dove takes a stand against overly sexualized women in video games

Dove seems to be trying to draw a line between 'Sexualization' and 'Fat'.

It is possible to be slim while not sexualized. Also possible to be fat and sexualized.
Or the easiest solution is let devs design their characters however they want, if western devs want design their characters fat & ugly then let them and Japanese devs wants design their characters good looking & sexy then they also should be free to do so.

If devs lose the freedom to make what they want to make then this industry is really fucked.

Oh please, get real.

This is why I keep telling myself to stick to Japanese games that haven't been too affected by this nonsense

When the fuck has any modern western game had a sexualized female in it for the past 5+ years?
Additionally, how come instead of just showing a normal everyday woman, they choose to follow the "its okay to be an unhealthy fatass" angle?
Modern corporations, man these people just can't help themselves lol

LOL, pretty sure gamer girls love to play as hot chicks, i have a group of friends where we play League of Legends and in that group we have 4 girls who play only female champions and only the sexy ones like Kaisa, Caitlyn, Kata, Miss Fortune, Evelynn, Ahri and Lux.
All sexy champions with very feminine skins and features, not a single one of them plays Illaoi for example, actually the only one who plays Illaoi is a dude lol. (she's good in lane)

Most girls i know indeed prefer to play a female character, but they want them to be hot, girls want to be hot and pretty, and these ads are full of shit, propaganda to trick the idiots on their side that they are morally correct and do what needs to be done, when the case is not like this at all.

Just go to any MMO out there and see what female gamers tend to play/roleplay as. You will NOT be surprised :messenger_tears_of_joy:

The problem with the internet is that the 0,01% of people who actually give a shit about this can make a shitstorm that sometimes even can influence share prices. So companies act overcautious to not piss off some Karens.

They won’t because even Western devs know fatties don’t sell and making decisions that purposely reduce your profit can get you sued in the US.

What the hell does a soap company even have any business making any kind of social commentary at all. You sell fucking soap. Shut the fuck up. Jfc. Smh. I never used their products before, but now I will actively avoid.

Not everything under the sun has to have a cause or be “fighting” for something. And it’s plainly obvious that most of these companies are just desperately trying to ride whatever train they think will increase sales. It’s extremely disingenuous.

We're going to see more 'Bud light' situations

Yes we are, even if it's not good PR, or doesn't make a profit.

Some people try and say ''oh the anti woke crowd think there's an agenda, but this just is about capitalism''.

The recent bud light backlash is a case study example of this not being true, business leaders and marketers said this stuff is going to be pushed even if it doesn't work:

I don't think obese is beautiful either. How about a middle ground? I wish Dove was more concerned with healthy lifestyles and the growing diabetes epidemic.

It certainly will help buckle an already strained healthcare system.

LOL coming from a company that's raked in BILLIONS of dollars from helping women sexualize themselves while at the same time seeding inadequacy in order to tear down their self esteem and then shell a product to "fix" it. What a joke...
