Lol every single time. Please for once GAF temper your expectations. These shows never have what most of you want. It'll probably be factions, Spiderman 2, and a bunch of other stuff the majority of you won't care about. Then you'll all say it was the worst showcase they've ever had and blah blah blah. It happens literally every single time.
The past two years they have skipped their E3 show. They have done smaller shows and state of plays in September which have indeed been disappointing, but they are typically 20-30 minutes long and mostly featured last gen stuff.

This is going to be next gen only, an hour long, and feature what these fuckers have been working on for the past 3 years since they last did a conference like this at E3. Lets not forget the last time sony did a conference at e3 2020, it featured A LOT of games and did not disappoint.

  1. Returnal
  2. Ratchet
  3. Horizon FW
  4. GT7
  5. Spiderman Miles
  6. Demon Souls
  7. Forspoken
  8. Resident Evil 8
Plus smaller game reveals like Kena, Sackboy, Astrobot, Destruction all stars, Ghostwire tokyo, Deathloop, Godfall, Little Devil Inside, and Pragmata. Hardly a disappointing show.

What if Insomniac showed both Spiderman 2 (highlighting SoP soon) and wolverine.... And then bammmm! Resistance is their next game. Be it new or remake.

A man can dream!
That's a dream I have, too! Man, a brand new Resistance (flat + VR, please!) would be so outstanding. I can imagine a title with 4 players coop where they are all regular human (heck, even marines would be fine) struggling to survive in this brutal world dominated by the chimeras. I need a new Resistance 🥺

Shadow of the Erdtree news and gameplay would be great. Also want to see what Factions 2 is. Can't think of much else, new Spider-Man will obviously be there. I think it's time for Sony to release a new major IP as well.

Ok mates heres my dreams that wont happen but Ill dream them anyways.

mml3 on ps5. Id buy a console for it.

bloodborne for pc

a new buddy platformer ip like jak and daxter or rachet and clank that shows promise as good old fashioned fun. or a new jak / rachet.

a fun fps like timesplitters, or another timesplitters

idk a new mercenaries game or remasters of the old ones i guess

oh and perhaps the mgs series being fully available on modern hardware including mgs4

Had a thought about the Sony/Konami rumors: no, I don't think Sony's acquired Konami.

But, I think they maybe have purchased the IP rights to Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and Silent Hill from Konami at least in the gaming space. I feel Konami's done with Sony, what Square-Enix did with Embracer Group. SE didn't have to sell Embracer the Tomb Raider or Hitman IP; they did so though because they would no longer have in-house studios to work on them.

Well, Konami doesn't really have any in-house devs for the MGS, Silent Hill, or Castlevania games anymore (or the talent, even if the studios still kind of exist). Why hold on to them? Sony would probably like the IP, and Konami have no plans for them with their internal teams, so I'm thinking Sony purchased the IP rights from Konami. While Konami still retains IP rights for them in terms of non-gaming ventures like film/anime/television and merchandise (though like Disney/Marvel's relationship with Spiderman films, I'm assuming Sony would get a cut of the proceeds from things Konami do in that regard with those IP as part of the deal), Sony have control of the IP in the gaming side with some portion of decision-making still having Konami's input.

I think this is highly likely what's going on between the two companies, and it gets Sony what they really want without acquiring aspects of Konami they wouldn't need (like the pachinko side of the business). Might also be possible Sony has an arrangement with other Konami IP besides just those three. I know there are Nintendo fans who hate the Sony/Konami rumors because they're scared Castlevania won't come to Nintendo systems anymore; if they would calm down and actually think, then they'd realize this doesn't shut Nintendo out of the picture for that IP. Sony & Konami can just find a 3P developer to work on a new (say 2.5D) Castlevania game, with maybe a Sony team or people from the Malaysia Animation unit or XDEV working with that 3P dev on the game. Then Sony getting publishing for it on PlayStation while Konami publishes the game on Nintendo's system.

That would mirror in some ways the relationship Sony has with the MLB League on The Show, where Sony publishes on PlayStation & PC, but MLB League publishes on Xbox & Switch. IJS, if Sony & Konami have some strategic partnership mirroring what's been mentioned here, don't act surprised.
