I keep seeing Destiny 2 on the most played games on steam and it's not even a F2P game.
Bungie did something right with it.

Didn't know people talk down on Destiny tbh.

It got so much hate when it released.
It got lower scores than Battlefield 4 and Cod Ghosts which were shitstorms and Destiny Had more content then both and gunplay.
PVE/Campiagn/PVP/Raid etc But Was scored low because it didnt have enough content and repetitive…

My thoughts are it was scored harshly because it was Bungie‘s first game not being with MS and touted as the Halo Killer.. Cant have that

Great art, great soundtrack. I've watched it three times.

No interest in playing a PVP extraction game so I'm sure this game will earn zero dollars from me.

The funny part is, 343 and MS killed Halo. Bungie was GOAT Halo.

Bungie is Halo, the rest is pretend.

Bungie literally stole content from you, I would be furious if I were you but you just take it lol.

The content sunsetting is one of the things I mentioned that can be annoying, but to be furious? I am too old to get furious over a game and it's not "just taking it", I understand the reasoning with the approach. I see it happening now with the game being too large for them to handle. Bugs, constant updates, menu slowdowns, etc due to the game being too large, specifically for consoles. Less than 1% of the players were actually playing the old content such as Warmind that was sunset. Would I prefer to have it stay? Sure, but If I have to choose to have that removed in order to make room for new content, it's a no brainer for me.

I swear some people get way too upset and personal about this shit. "Furious" and "you just take it!?". It's a game, I vote with my wallet and don't regret it one bit. I'm having a really good time playing the game, which is a rare thing nowadays.

It was a trailer with great music and aesthetics, absolutely not my genre but obviously it's something to look forward for the multiplayer crowd.

And this is why things get worse :/

Gaming is fucked.

I just imagine a drug dealer with crack dealing someone crack for years then one day they point a gun at you steal a large amount of your stash you paid for to your face but then offer to sell you more newly made crack and you continue to buy crack from them because they know you need your fix.

Of all the Sony GAAS stuff this definitely has the highest chance of actually succeeding.
Bungie has the experience and it actually looks interesting and not like a Ubisoft game like what Heaven is doing

I keep trying destiny every year or 2 and then getting bored......what am I doing wrong? Lol
You're not doing anything wrong, from what I've gathered here and elsewhere online, the game is built wonderfully but is horribly paced and doesn't do tutorials properly.

This guy highlights what it's like starting the game as a new player and goes over the problems(ignore the clickbait thumbnail):

He basically says that the game lacks basic explanation to very important key features and new players will be running around lost, confused, and with bad gear. This is unless that new player decides to befriend someone who is already an expert or do a ton of external research to make sure that they're keeping up with the features of the game. Also they'd have to look up the story outside of the game(especially since a big chunk of it was cut).

The trailer itself is actually striking on all fronts is why. It's a game I know literally zero about and I came away interested. MGS3 I know everything about and felt like someone farted in my general direction.

In fairness, of all the 'THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME' brightly coloured flashy GAAS crap we keep seeing it definitely looked distinct and interesting...If I played those games I would be interested in it. If it had a story mode I would play it. But it doesn't, so beyond appreciating a cool trailer, my interest level is zero as it will be forever more.

It's sad we're comparing this to drug addiction and attempted murder. This is why I can't take comments on here seriously.

😂 boyy madd, aint stealing if we purchasing what we want in the game store .

Love both single and multi games, if it’s a dope game I’ll buy. Stop hating
You do know they deleted 2 years worth of paid content right... They did steal and people are too weak willed to do anything about it so they just take it..

Now look at the Likes difference. Marathon trailer has barely any likes compared to SM2 trailer

I think most of the credit goes to the awesome music used and the art direction. As a work of audiovisual art is great, but as something to showcase a game it was disappointing.

It was just an aesthetically cool trailer that people probably shared. It's not that deep.
You've got to admit it does look nice but means nothing for the game or sales.

Ok, i understand now why it had so much views.

Look at the numbers of likes...Only 5.5k likes. The trailer has been use as ad for youtube videos. So the number of views means nothing.

It's like the first Starfield Trailer which have 16m views.

There were a lot of games that sort of blended into each other or had been seen before, and this one stood out stylistically.

It was the only game that I was interested in. Also good to know it's coming to Xbox and PC ... not that Sony would tell us.

For a PS showcase it really says a lot when the only game I cared about was a multiplatform game lol.

I love the look of this game.

Even if it ends up being basically Destiny I'm going to play this just for the neon cyberpunk/synthwave vibe it has going on.
Yea, the visual direction is pretty striking, at least for this cinematic trailer.
Hopefully the actual real-time visuals are as captivating, same goes for the soundtrack.

It's in alpha right now. My bet is they'll invite us to try it in a couple of months, like they did with the first Destiny game and then a beta for a broader audience. Release late 2023.
I wouldn't come with that conclusion after seeing that developer video.
