Bloodborne is my favorite video game. Ever

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.
I completed this game 4 times already, while waiting for D4, I decided to fire it up just for good ol times sake, fast forward 8 hours later, I'm finding myself in utter awe all over again

I love the art design with all the crooked graves and dampness and how you get blood soaked.
I love the enemies and bosses.
I love how snappy and smooth the dodging feels.
I love how layered and intricate the levels are to tie back to single lanterns.
I love how jagged and ramshackle the weapons look and how tricking them feels.
I love how it escalates from a werewolfy victorian horror thing to a lovecraftian space octopus thing
I adore the orchestral soundtrack.

Among the sea of endless GaaS horse shit, unnecessary sequels, unfinished products, and souless video games that is plaguing the current gen, I'm reminded how good we had it years ago

i guess all I'm trying to say, I really really love this game

It's the lore for me, man. It is so fucking wild. Every aspect of it is just perfectly thought out.

The way the game evolves from beast hunting to cosmic deities and interdimensional horrors beyond our comprehension is just amazing.

Even something as trivial is the Insight mechanic is just *chef's kiss*. The more unfathomable horrors you see, the more insight about the real world you accumulate and the more you start to see the world as it really is, including immense horrors. But see too much beyond comprehension you will become frenzied and will go insane. Absolutely brilliant idea.

Easily Miyazaki's magnum opus.

Fair enough. It is a fantastic game. Can't argue with that.
Looks amazing too but its 1080p is very jaggy nowadays. The 30fps is surprisingly snappy and responsive compared to other 30fps games this gen though

It's a great, until you learn the meaning of the game. Then, you will throw up until you forget about the game completely.
Ok, ive never played it and now i am curious.

Its mine too (or in my top 3) i hope a sequel is a prequel that deals with the conflict between the cainhurst vilebloods and the healing church

It's one of my all time fav too! I hope one day to play a remaster/remake/sequel... anything related will be great. It's a pity that sony has as good as forgotten this game, I really find it hard to believe that this is the case and I pray at least for a patch for ps5. :(

I have one problem with FROM games like Bloodborne. I have to read about the lore... I don't want to. I guess its not for me. I finished the game half way through and outside of Father Gascoine I had no issues. Its literally repitition over and over again to level up. My favorite moment was putting my hand up the Giant Warthog's ass in the tunnel after a perfect parry and fighting other hunters. And I think I stopped playing after I defeated the 3 Swordman Spirits.

There was some discussion of a remaster leading up to the showcase does anyone have information that this is happening

It's my favorite game too. That's why I'm so upset with Sony not giving a shit about it. Not even a remaster for PS5. And since they're got the hots for GaaS why not evolve the Chalice Dungeons into a live service game, solo, co-op and PvP? You could add new dungeons, bosses, levels, weapons, items etc, in randomly generated dungeons. Always thought the Chalice Dungeons had such potential to be something great. Something that could potentially last for years, with new fresh updates constantly keeping the community engaged. But no, we get focus tested crap like Fairgames instead.

Yeah Bloodborne is the only Fromsoftware game that clicked with me....Bloodborne and 3D Dot Game Heroes.
I don't know if it is the more agressive playstyle and the risk/reward system being different but I loved Bloodborne.

While not necessarily my favorite game.

It's hands down the best
eldritch horror/lovecraftian
game there is. That moment where it all just clicks and all starts making sense is up there with some of the best lore/story in gaming .

I keep playing FS games waiting to have the epiphany others seem to have but never do. They're good games, just more of that formula.

mh, not sure.
I think Eternal Darkness does the concept of
"you are nothing compared to the old cosmic beings"
better than BB (for gameplay reasons maybe, but still)

Everyone wants a Bloodborne patch/remaster (I do too), but what I really want is a 3d Dot Game Heroes remaster.

We don't know for sure. There have been dozens of rumors of a Bloodborne remaster/remake/sequel going back all the way to 2020 and still no official word on anything. Either they're knee deep in Blood or they haven't done anything.

To be honest I don't really remember eternal darkness' story. It was always that game I just played at a Mates house so never really absorbed the story much

I have been replaying it on and off for the past couple of months and honestly, it doesn't even need to be remastered, just a simple port or just add a better AA and that's it.
I do want a sequel which would include the first opus though, that would be awesome.

Yeah it’s a super good game, but I don’t think the bosses compare well to any in DS3. And the blood vial system is weak.

Also I never understood the chalice dungeons.

This thread has already spoiled the cosmic twist so theres no more damage to done lol
He probably meant the subtext about Menstruation/Birth etc but honestly thats only one aspect to the it quite frankly.
And no it doesnt ruin the game in the slightest.

Talk like this got me so hyped up to play it, then when I did it I was severely disappointed. I could try it again if it's ever remade, but I really don't see what makes it a masterpiece.

Did you finish it? I dropped it twice over the years because it didn't click, when it finally did, it became my GOAT game.
