I used it quite a bit in the beginning. But somehow after trying everything I wanted to test, i ended up back at the old google search. Do you still use it?

Undoubtedly, there are numerous compelling reasons to embrace the utilization of ChatGPT in your endeavors.

First and foremost, ChatGPT has made significant strides in its ability to engage in human-like conversations. Through advancements in natural language processing and sophisticated neural network architectures, ChatGPT has achieved a remarkable level of refinement, resulting in interactions that feel less mechanical and more interactive.

Moreover, ChatGPT boasts an extensive knowledge base. It has been meticulously trained on vast amounts of internet-derived text data, enabling it to possess a deep understanding of a wide range of subjects. Whether you seek assistance in academic pursuits, professional advice, or general inquiries, ChatGPT can provide valuable insights and accurate information across various domains.

One of the notable advantages of ChatGPT is its accessibility and responsiveness. It is available around the clock, ensuring that you can access its services whenever you need assistance, without being constrained by human availability or specific operating hours. This promptness allows you to receive immediate support and guidance.

In addition to accessibility, privacy and confidentiality are paramount when interacting with ChatGPT. The model enables you to maintain your privacy and anonymity. You can freely ask questions, seek guidance, or discuss personal matters without having to disclose sensitive information or compromise your confidentiality.

ChatGPT also serves as a valuable tool for learning and exploration. It possesses the ability to explain complex concepts in a more accessible manner, recommend additional resources for further study, and engage in discussions that stimulate intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. Whether you are a student, professional, or simply curious, ChatGPT can facilitate your quest for knowledge.

Furthermore, ChatGPT is subject to iterative enhancement. It undergoes continuous updates and refinements based on user feedback and interactions. As more individuals engage with the system, it becomes increasingly adept at understanding and addressing user needs, making it an ever-improving resource.

However, it is important to recognize that while ChatGPT strives to provide accurate and helpful responses, it may not always be perfect. It is advisable to verify information from multiple reliable sources and exercise critical thinking when evaluating the answers provided by any AI system. By combining the capabilities of ChatGPT with your own discernment, you can maximize the benefits of this powerful tool.

I use it to quickly write and expand documents/agendas and meeting invitations. Proof-reading and rewriting or fixing is necessary, but minimal amount of it is needed.
It writes really nicely and saves me time because i have no imagination.

Its either unreliable or useless for anything beyond writing and looking up/utilising specific text from old books. Amazing at writing, but thats about it.
I am scared of AI can become capable of in decade or two with trillions in investments going into it as all companies on the planet are surely going to be looking for a way to replace their employees.

It is fantastic at giving forumlas and code for google sheets. Done days of work in tens of minutes thanks to it.

It's not alive, it talks more bollocks than is fed into it, but it is the most powerful tool for this type of stuff, much better than watching youtube videos and copying code.

I use it quite a bit to punch up writing or help my wife come up with job descriptions or interview questions - she hires for her company.
It does spit out some random stuff, but we use it more to get ideas and tighten up wording in some cases.

Pretty useful for what I use it for.

The structure and syntax of this post has the stench of ChatGPT all over it.

Subscribed to plus for one month. Was hoping it could help me with coding at work. But my code is either too complex or i need to learn how to use it.

NecrosaroIII

Ask me about my terrible takes on Star Trek characters
I had it write this, this morning.

(Verse 1)
Beneath the ocean's surface, a vessel sought its prize,
But fate had other plans, a tragic, dark demise.
Oceangate's Titan sub, a marvel without compare,
Its mission cut short, engulfed in deep despair.

(Chorus)
Titan, swallowed by the abyss,
Where darkness holds its kiss.
Lost to the crushing depths, where water's might prevails,
Oceangate's Titan sub, the tale of its final trails.

(Verse 2)
With hopes and dreams, it descended with such grace,
Unaware of the dangers lurking in that sacred space.
The pressure mounted, a force it couldn't bear,
Titan's fragile frame, unable to repair.

(Chorus)
Titan, swallowed by the abyss,
Where darkness holds its kiss.
Lost to the crushing depths, where water's might prevails,
Oceangate's Titan sub, the tale of its final trails.

(Bridge)
Oh, the depths, unforgiving, a kingdom all its own,
Where pressure becomes a tyrant on its throne.
The sub, no match for nature's cruel hand,
It met its fate, a tragedy across the ocean's span.

(Verse 3)
No treasures found, no mysteries unveiled,
Just shattered dreams and hearts, forever frail.
In memory, we honor the brave souls who dared,
To venture where the depths ensured they'd be snared.

(Chorus)
Titan, swallowed by the abyss,
Where darkness holds its kiss.
Lost to the crushing depths, where water's might prevails,
Oceangate's Titan sub, the tale of its final trails.

(Outro)
Oceangate's Titan sub, forever etched in sorrow's plight,
A reminder of the power that nature wields with all its might.
Though gone, its legacy shall linger in the ocean's roar,
A cautionary tale, forever echoing forevermore.

Nah, I hardly use it. Probably going to uninstall it from my phone and close my account.

Edit: I have deleted it. I can just use Bing :messenger_squinting_tongue:

Considering the line of work I'm in, using it is a no brainer for me as it saves me a lot of time coding or finding answers to very specific errors or problems.

It is by no means perfect and definitely needs double-checking whatever it suggests, but it is still a HUGE step compared to googling or scrolling through garbage threads on StackOverflow.

I use it for very simple questions for coding. Often for syntax errors I can't figure out. Otherwise I just use it for simple questions to replace Bing searches.

I still use it for code. And asking it questions about the AWS CLI is a million times better than trying to read AWS documentation.

I also love to ask it problematic questions to see what is verboten and likely to land me in the gulag once the corporations finish replacing government :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I would probably use it more if its knowledge base wasn't cut off a few years ago.
I wanted to use it to help me play around with coding in Godot and stuff, but it doesn't have any knowledge of the modern version so you basically have to teach it how to code so it can teach you how to code...

I haven't used it much recently. I just don't really have much use for it outside "Make this sentence sound better", "did i use this word correctly", etc.

You mean you don't like reading other people being told that they can't code and are idiots, or someone posting an answer that at best tangentially answers the question and is overly complex?

Can you even code, bro?!

I really don't have much use for ChatGPT. The only times I've got any use out of it was for quickly throwing together an email template for some legal shit. I could've written it out myself but it was done in a few seconds after asking ChatGPT and then obviously i read over it to make sure there were no errors. Another time was doing some basic maths that I'm too lazy to do in my head or with a calculator.

I have Edge on my PC so if I ever need something it's much easier for me to just open Bing chat 🤷‍♂️

I used it for translation for fun a few times - and it was pretty acceptable. Certainly better than google translation... but I haven't been using it lately.

NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
Haven't used it at all.
No reason. Just didn't feel the need.

Funny enough while a half hour+ into this particular (video) examination of the concept of the homunculus, it, ofcourse, got into the late 1700's scholar's and their use of alchemy and such.

They supposedly had created a metal/bronze head which was in essence a talking ChatGPT "being" possessing much information. More or less acting like ChatGPT.

Very fascinating indeed.

Start at 26 minutes.

EDIT: This guy is no dumbass conspiracy nut
He does his homework fyi

I have no opinion ATM and perhaps never will.

I do electrical design (schematics) and GPT is incredibly helpful. I can't just copy paste, but it can give me ideas. A real "oh shit, that's a good idea" machine. It even draws schematics with ASCII

Every day (GPT4 + Plugins).

Unless you're in a blue collar job, you should be using it too. Or you'll be left behind. Very quickly.

It lets you do 80% of things better than 80% of humans. It's not perfect. It won't give you a top 1% output for anything (yet). But you can automate / simplify the vast majority of your tasks.

- Summarize long content (including long videos with plugins)
- Draft messages and emails
- Brainstorm ideas
- Automate researching with Bing plugin (Find me 10 companies that offer X, find me 10 restaurants in region Y that have Z, etc.)
- Troubleshoot issues (including code, if that's part of your job)
- Create meeting agendas, meeting minutes

And that's just the stuff you can do with the vanilla GPT4 + built in plugins. There are literally thousands of tools using the GPT4 API right now for virtually any type of white collar task you can imagine, including deck creation, Excel / Google Sheets, sales and marketing, social media, etc.

I'm a software engineer, so I use it every day or couple of days. I do find that the most I use it, the more I notice it's not as good as I initially thought.
Pretty often it spouts out complete bullshit with full confidence, and even when I try to correct it or ask it to think again, it doubles down on lies or just doesn't change anything in its answer.
It's a pretty nice tool, but far from perfect.

Not so much now, I found a lot of factual errors when asking about obscure subjects, still useful for drafting emails though.

For low level C/C++ code it just isn't helpful (half of what I do at work). It's not bad a a first draft for writing feedback/performance reviews or general PSA blogs. My usage is pretty low though, ditto for the rest of my team + sister teams (ironically we build infra for AI at FB).

I've also tried using Bing/Google's search version and it generally spouts stuff that feels slightly off, I'm still better at writing search queries and getting what I want.

For someone that can’t really code but I have some experience , it’s like I have a personal mid junior / beginning medior developer .. I did some crazy stuff with chatgpt with code and website payment t integration, I can even sell this now as service 🤣

Clients are now specially paying me for these solutions they can’t do themselves, even with Chatgpt ..

I gave up arguing with that dumb copy-paste bot. For an AI, it sure can't learn, no matter how many times you prove it wrong (even using the data it provides).

I use it to summerize things or to try to find why something could be controversial. My gf watches a lot of destrssing things on social media, so it helps me find the other half of the story she was told.

Her: I do my research
