You know me. Tell me. If I heard it, would I moan like a tramp and say, "Yes, judge. They've been so bad. Throw that big, hard book at them"?

I think they wanted the 15 minute break to prevent something like this from happening;

i don't know what's happening but they gotta make that guy happy. he seems pissed as fuck

I mean, he should be. This whole situation is highly irregular. The CMA kept their mouths shut about it for weeks. Then waited for the FTC hearing to be resolved. Microsoft already had the wheels in motion. Made an appeal. Was going to fight them when they refused the original options presented to them. Now upending the process in a bid to get it through. When the CAT was already involved.

Are we still all in agreement that if the CMA blocks, MS will just break their laws and do what they want?
That’s the billion dollar question at this point right?

I guess MS is pondering the cost of future litigation and fines in the UK versus cost of closing after the 18th and has already decided what they’ll do.

I suspect he's most irked by that recent application to delay , based on lack of appropriate counsel (which they shot down equally aggressively), when they knew they were deep in negotiations but neglected to mention it. The relationship between CAT and CMA seems distinctly frosty though, which I guess is not unexpected for an oversight body - have to hold them to account.

It reminds me of my dad putting my bitch ass in its place - but to a government regulator and one of the biggest corporations on earth.

The execution of his statement was just:

And rightly so, pausing the CAT tribunal for something that may or may not be a waste of time is nonsensical. For him to pause he needs something concrete. If the CMA and Microsoft can't get an agreement while it's paused then what? Straight back to the CAT proceedings? I can absolutely see why he's pissed.

So much incompetence has been shown across the board at various stages of this regulatory process that I genuinely believe nobody ever truly gets over impostor syndrome and just wings it through to retirement.

Everyone said a whole new hearing had to take place. So how could they have already had an agreement in place
