Capcom Interested In PSP Remasters For the U.S., Having Issues Getting Sony Approval

Could somebody clarify the Okamiden "honesty issues" thing? I mean, I see it cited repeatedly, but I haven't seen any coherent reason for it to be a lie, other than a sinister conspiracy to, um, hurt Ace Attorney fans' feelings.
Sven claimed Okamiden outsold the first Ace Attorney Investigations in America as a reason the second game was not coming here. At the time, Okamiden had not been in an NPD report and had been out...maybe two weeks?

A poster here who works for a third party publisher, who I'd rather not call out if it's all the same to you, pointed out that AAI sold about on par with Apollo Justice, so we have numbers there. Okamiden didn't, when it was finally reported in the NPD, which isn't surprising as it came out literally between Pokemon and the 3DS. Still, he used it as a data point that he assumed would not have been verifiable (and it wasn't, until we found out how much AAI did sell) to get people off his back about AAI2. It was a lie.

I have an interesting question: can we figure out when Capcom started such meaningless lies?

Yeah, that was pretty shady.

But the campaign to get AAI2 in the US is still going. Sven hasn't said anything too recently though, but he has been popping into the Capcom-Unity thread every now and again.

He was probably referring to sell in and not sell through, given that's how publishers get paid. That's not something that's readily verifiable in a single month of NPD data though.
