In Starcraft and Street Fighter, the settings are competitive right from the start. Players who lack skill aren't playing your Justin Wongs, Daigos, and Boxers. They play players their skill level and that is why they don't get frustrated playing the game. As long as the matchmaking system works, the most competitive settings shouldn't frustrate lower skilled players.

Nothing really compares to Cortana for me. Library may go on for at least twice as long as it has any right to, but I at least found the Flood in CE to be some mindless fun to mow down.

Cortana looks like shit, navigates like shit, and the Flood in Halo 3 are shit to fight against.

I just want to say that I'm pretty disappointed HaloGAF. Even Juices plays Halo Anniversary instead of Reach. So I'm saying "FU" and go to bed. Drunk Hypah time till 2012 missed. :(

It's a significant difference that slows down the game and shrinks the efficacy of individual players. One of my greatest irritations with Reach, and nobody ever talks about it.

Cortana is much better than Library you can at least rush through Cortana. Library you're forced to follow around a fucking retarded flying dumbass listening to the same retarded comments over and over and over all the while WAITING for him to do shit while being molested by the same three enemies over and over and over and there is SO MANY of them. Level should have been ended at the second level. No reason for the next two. It looks like I have to escape too on the next level. FUCK THAT gimme a magic rope exit. Do not want.


If there is a hell, its being forced to play Library over and over.

Man, I hated the library for ten years and then Tunavi made me play through it on legendary and it was a ton of fun. Maybe you'll have a better time if you run it coop but I definitely know where you're coming from.

Those guys weren't the tough ones. The normal Flood with shields were the assholes. A single PR bursted 3 to 4 times at the ranged Flood killed them. The shielded ones were just evil that took more than 3 to 4 bursts to kill. I saw the issue so many people had with Cortana, but I guess I knew how to overcome it easier. Cortana is a better mission than The Library by far.

Both the Library and Cortana are great in my opinion. The first one for the sublime shotgun combat against the endless hordes of (fun to fight against) flood and the second one because I'm the Chief going through the shittiest, most unpleasant environment imaginable just to get my fuckin Cortana back. <3

Pretty sure in my first post about Cortana in the Halo 3 thread, I was raving about it. I liked how hard it was, how I was running out of ammo. The environment was creepy and gross and scared me. And I liked (and still do) the turret Flood Pure form. Once you know the best weapons to take them down (Needlers and Brute Shots) they're never a problem, as both are in ample supply.

On later play throughs Cortana's design issues become more apparent, but at least the environment and the combat in it are more diverse than the Library, which shows all it has to offer on the first floor.

That said, the Library on Legendary co-op is awesome. Reminds me a DOOM at its crazy hard best.

You can't let the ODSTs survive the first round if you want them to get in the Warthog. Also, when the Pelican drops off the Warthog in subsequent rounds, it's pretty damn cool.

Looking at my game history, that was my first MP game of Reach since October 8th (on which I played one game).

I want to contrast the experiences I have between the games I play lately. I played one game of Halo tonight, and that was it. I was unrelentingly unpleasant. I played Skyrim for a while and it went like this. That contrast is why I've been away from Halo for a while.

Also, here, because it's awesome.

I might romp a few more missions of CEA this weekend.

My thoughts, only with Dark Souls. I haven't played Reach since the...*checks Bungie...* 16th of October, and I have no desire to go back to it.
