I really hope all the 3rd party characters in the new PS3 commercial is in this game. I'd be pretty disappointed if it is all Sony characters with 1 bonus 3rd party one only.

A6] The Bridge of Asylia from Lair is purportedly being in development. The stage is expected to have Lair’s epic score playing, while the Asylians and the Mokai have their battle in the background. One idea is to have a stage-exclusive item be a Sixaxis controller (DualShock 3′s predecessor) and when you pick it up, your character will jump on the back of General Atta-Kai’s Blood Dragon which is Rohn is riding, and you’ll have to tilt the actual controller back and forth to unleash a fiery blast on your three opponents below. I can’t wait to see it in action, because it sounds like one awesome stage.

Wow, Lair and the Sixaxis, bet Sony can't wait to reminisce about both of those. That sounds so unlikely, they might as well throw in a giant enemy crab in the background while they're at it.

Well, if this is to get true and the gameplay's at least somewhat as good as Smash's, then I'll need to get myself a PS3.
This has system-mover potential for me.

That 3rd stage sounds incredibly stupid.

Also, Oh please, choosing Lair to be represented in the game? Lair wasnt memorable in a good way.

Nariko (Heavenly Sword), Ellen (Folkore), Jennifer (Rule of Rose), Jennifer (Primal),.... I'm drawing blanks on other female leads.

Females in supporting roles maybe... but no one is so iconic to include in a premier fighting title. Only ones I can think of is Kai, Elena, and Carmelita. Well there is Yorda but having her in a fighting game would sort of be an insult to ICO :p.

I want them to start small. Having a roster of about 20 sounds right to me.
Do this and have enough time to really nail the Smash Bros gameplay, as this is the most important aspect in the game.

20-25 characters on the vanilla roster sounds good to me. Tight gameplay, rock solid netcode, and some semblance of balance should take priority anyway.

In the background? More like playable. PLAYABLE GIANT CRAB OR NO SALE

Its just for comparison's sake. I'm interested in knowing how many female characters people would deem as acceptable, as there is a lot of complaining going around. Obviously people think its fine in smash, so I'm asking how many would Sony have to match?

I hope the Sony Smash rumour is true but the Paul Gale network stuff is false. The name Title Fight, considering James Bond but as of yet no third party characters and now a Lair level all sound like bad ideas.

Peach, Zelda, Sheik, Samus and half a character with Ice Climbers. So they'd have to get like 3 and a half females in.
That doesn't include unlockables though. I don't remember if there a female characters from unlocks. I don't think so though.

Screw that. Lair may not have been the best of games, but it's environments and score were epic as hell. The game really did have the potential to be great if it had fixed a few of it's shortcomings and it wasn't so damn short (and had a boring story).

'Title fight' is indeed disappointing. Especially since it "seems" Paul has some pull on these people and is sorta suggestíng them to keep it.

I think someone posted it earlier, the first Smash Bros game for N64 only have Samus and Jigglypuff for female character. (is Kirby male/female?)

basically, if Sony is trying to have 1 playable character from 1 series, then yeah, very few female character, but once they expand it to secondary character in a series if they make a sequel, then the number of female character can increase quite a bit.

they haven't officially unveil it yet. I think if everything goes according to plan, Sony like to have up to 1 year before release (Uncharted 3 is almost a year between announcement and release).

but sometimes shit happens and you got Gran Turismo and Last Guardian
