Nintendo Downloads - January 2012

I do enjoy a nice wall...

All I can really say is that it looks better on the Wii than the screenshots implied, but it's not "good". It's... odd. I'm half wondering if the entire dungeon is a "training" area and something changes when it ends, but I don't know if I can take that much more of the game.

Thank you for taking the bullet on this one. I would have been all over a decent port, but it doesn't sound like this is a quarter-decent sequel.

I'd still like to see video of this...

Seem like Mutant Mudds will cost 8,99 USD.
The game reall does look great in 3D, but I'll probably pass at that price point. Imo eShop devs should really aim for 5 bucks because it'll attract just more people, which probably will mean more income and word of mouth in the long run.

Still I hope that it does well.

Funny you mention the price as an issue, as this mentality was exactly the thing Renegade Kid's creator argued about in a recent blog posting.

I'm in on Mutant Mudds. <$10 for a substantial (4+ hours without padding) game seems like a fine value to me.

Still feel a bit burned by Mighty Switch Force, but I wasn't really surprised.

The shop won't let me download the RE demo. My fridge is full! Time to invest in a new SD card, I guess. How easy is it to transfer my games between SD cards?

Stick the one with content in your PC, then copy all the files into a new folder, then put your new SD card inside your 3DS format it, then into the PC, copy the files in the new folder(not the new folder itself) onto the new SD card.

Use a computer to move all the files off one and on to the other. I moved mine to an 8 GB early on.

You do need to maintain them as a set, though--no tricky things like trying to combine a few cards into one or similar. (Or at least so the manual says.)

Very. Just copy everything over. Make sure you get a fast card, though. Preferably class 10.

I've never been able to find concrete info on how fast the bundled card is. Certainly when I grabbed one of my old 4GB cards (class 2, I think), it felt much slower than the bundled one.

I have a 16GB class 10, but that feels like overkill. I'd be happy if I could match the performance of the bundled card, I just don't know what that is!

It's worth pointing out that SD class ratings change in meaning once you pass class 4 or so. If I remember correctly, class 1-4 is based on minimum data speed, and above that is based on max speed.

I may be wrong on the details, but the long and short of it is that a class 10 card can be slower for random access/OS use than a class 4 (or perhaps 6) card. Class 10 cards do well with large files (video recording, large images), the lower range (cutting off at either 4 or 6, not sure at the moment) do better with moving large numbers of small files.

The RE demo is awesome.

The reloading bit is NOT great when you about to get killed.

Also the health regenerate system from COD dosen't work!

Basically copy the contents of one SD card to the other with your PC. Just make sure your new SD card is formated within the SD Associations specifications and your good to go.

Also if you don't want SwapNote to end up becoming SlowNote, I suggest a Class 10 SD Card. Speed also matters as much as capacity. I had a Class 4 32GB SD Card and SwapNote took 2 minuites to load a couple on notes.

Release date confirmed for North America:

There is no price yet, but I have money waiting for it on my 3DS. Really excited for it.

Nintendolife says it's $6.99

Also it's getting a little old to read people say "I've got money saved up on my 3DS" since now you can just add the required funds for any game you want to purchase, so you have no reason to ever have any money left over in your shop account.

lol Sorry I didn't mean it that way. I meant to say that I have money left over on my 3DS and now it's going to be saved for this. Though if it is $6.99, then I will have to puchase more funds (like 99 cents worth).

My bad.

Unless you can't afford to throw more money on your shop account?

Yeah, my money's waiting on Sakura Samurai too. With three consoles, an iPhone (which I'm constantly getting games for), PSP, DS, and the 3DS, there's only so much money (and time) to go around. Got $14 that needs to last me a while. It's going toward this and probably Pushmo.

Unfortunately, Mudds is gonna have to wait...

Good to hear that Sakura Samurai is only two weeks away. It looks potentially good based on the video.

DAMNIT I just accidentally put in the wrong birthday can I not dl RE now?
Try reloading the eShop. I once put in a wrong b-day for a age restricted video in Nintendo Video, and reloading the program allowed me to put re-enter my b-day.

Looks like the eshop is getting a demo for Mario & Sonic Olympics next week as well. Free demo or $8.99 game, which will get downloaded more?

Hopefully Mudds.
It looks so good.
I know I'll pick it up.

Also, can't wait for Samurai and Dillion to come out.
Hope they announce more good eShop stuff soon.

LOL

Yeah, but I don't think a free download should affect sales of Mutant Mudds. If anything, such a demo might bring folks into the eShop to browse who might otherwise have no reason to look. I know I go weeks sometimes without opening my 3DS. The Revelations demo got me to load up the eShop for the first time in a while, and as per usual, once I have it up, I like to see what's new.

Mutant Mudds looks good and I plan on picking it up but it seems like a bad time for Nintendo to release a new demo. I'm always very curious about how Nintendo handles their digital platforms. Like when Mighty Switch Force came out Swapnote came out the same day. But Nintendo didn't highlight swapnote or promote it until a few days later which I think gave MSF a few days of breathing room.

Same. eShop has picked up a bit in the past few months, in terms of 3DSWare. Kind of slowed down in terms of VC though.

Yeah, US VC backlog is definitely growing vs Japan/Europe:

Dr. Mario (GB)
Kirby's Block Ball (GB)
Maru's Mission (GB)
Prince of Persia (GBC)
Super Mario Bros. (NES)
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
The Sword of Hope (GB)
Trip World (GB)
Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (GB)

When do you guys think Sakura Samurai is gonna be released? That looks super hot

oh shit just read the thread lol

I really think Nintendo is making steps (baby-steps) to offering a coherent online service:

- Demos
- DLC
- New quality exclusive game(s) almost every week
- Nintendo Video updated regularly
- Nintendo Show 3D actually being.... decent
- Swapnote
- Club Nintendo integration (also being able to buy digital content with CN points)
- Communities in Mario Kart 7
- Much more accessible and intuitive shop
- 3D trailers and screens
- Decent VC service (probably the only thing that has been a step down from the Wii)

Combine that with the addictive streetpass features and side attractions like 3D camera, AR Cards, etc. and Nintendo finally has a system to where I will get on for other reasons then what is in the gaming slot.

I dunno, demo's will get more people visiting the shop which is a good thing I think.

Spot pass is the best online feature of any console! Seriously, it updates itself!

Alleyway got an update today... I thoughtt it already had one?
Does it actually make it interesting?

Few questions.

I'm running out of space on my SD card, is there a way to easily transfer all my games over to a larger card or am I going to have to redownload everything when I get a new card.

Also is 32 gig the largest SD card the 3DS can do like the Wii or can they do bigger?
