Yeah, I totally agree. I just thought it was terrible overall and it was one of my earlier experiences of things I just didn't like.

Definitely, and thx for the offer. The season begins around the beginning of April or so, so I won't be starting just yet, but will definitely let you know what things are looking like when I do.
So I just looked at animesuki and I see a bunch of people talking about how "awesome" episode 2 of BRS is.
You just don't get the complex emotional drama going on in the series man.
The show uses so many METAPHORS, it all goes over my head. I'm like a little bird in a cage that can't see the world of colors.
Are the non-Oshii episodes supposed to be bad or something as I've seen this pop up quite a lot.
Well, that changes everything! I'll probably check out the series after I catch up on Gintama and get around to watching LoGH.

I actually have not seen the anime, but the manga basically boils down to pretty art, cool looking battles, and incoherence. I do think the anime covers the part when it still made sense though.

Though for those wondering, Spring wouldn't have been all bad. Saint Seiya Omega would at least be up there. Apollon on the other hand would have gotten a really small pic in the corner of a haly made banner. No description or anything.

Jeez I've had the OP stuck in my head for the past two nights.
Anyhow, I'm really enjoying how this show is developing. Yukino is still awesome and cute, her family (especially her dad) are hilarious, and I'm starting to warm up to Arima. I wasn't really interested in his character until Episode 3 or 4. Man, speaking of Episode 4, the ending to that was great.
After spending an entire episode trying to get her feelings for him out there, I thought that was a great way to "say it".
I can forsee some trouble brewing ahead with Arima's lack of confidence in himself so I'm looking forward to see how their relationship continues... and not so looking forward to the forewarned budget issues in the latter half
In a colorless world, there are no ugly macaroons. Maybe someday we'll understand exactly what Kagari was trying to say, but it's all so impossibly deep and meaningful and subtly woven into the dialogue and imagery. Truly for only very serious scholars.

They're not bad by any means, they're just a lot more rote than the Oshii directed stuff. They stick pretty closely to the manga where as Oshii is a lot more experimental.
I called dibs on the fall thread a while back, but I'm willing to sell the rights for about two hundred bucks.

It would probably have just prompted someone to make an Apollon thread. Actually, I imagine someone still will make an Apollon thread, and because it will have Watanabe in the title it will be really popular when the show first airs. As people realise that it's not going to be another Cowboy Bebop or Samuari Champloo the thread will slowly get less and less active.

Why do you hate people disagree with you?
I actually wouldn't mind them disagreeing if their analysis was actually interesting and substantial. At least then you can learn something even if you can disagree. But when the analysis amounts to "this show is unconventional," referring to how the show's writing depicts everyone as totally insane and unbelievable, it's painful to read. Some of them don't even seem to notice there is anything problematic about the script, or that someone might think it is.
That's what happens to people when the only thing they watch is anime. Animesuki forums and the like are painful to read.

It's even worse when people who've only watched anime go on to create anime. I mean, the older generation directors were directly influenced by film, which made their knowledge of the craft far more robust and well rounded. When a director's main inspiration is 'anime' I'm always rather concerned about what they will produce.

First was the amazing Slim Fast Araki used, he should patent that stuff, he'd be a bilionaire.
The other was.
I'm sorry didn't they spend practically the entirety of episode 1 highlighting how much Kakeru sucks with his right foot, and he's really a lefty?
By the way he successfully scored a goal with a "bullet shot" with that foot by the way.
The 3rd thing is how they're constantly running away with this "heart" concept, it'd be more tolerable in smaller doses but it's going to be constantly popping up in every episode isn't it? :|

It's kind of like a wide angle shot - but it's not affecting him at all, and as he's near the centre of the frame he should be distorted as well. It's pretty lame.
