Confirmed: Aksys publishing 999 sequel (3DS, probably Vita) in NA by year's end

Great news!

I hope there isn't some exclusive crap in the versions. I hate having to choose and/or being forced to buy both versions.

I wonder how the visuals will hold up between the two versions.
Nothing exclusive on either.

Vita version is higher res. while the 3DS version is 3D (obviously) take your pick! (Assuming the Vita version gets announced)

Thank god, I figured this was coming over but you never know...

Not sure which version I'm going to get though I'm leaning towards Vita because of that damn screen.

Guess I'll have to spring for 1 of the 2 portable consoles by year's end, then. 999 was surprisingly the most compelling game I played all last year.

Got both a 3DS and Vita, but would like to pick up Vita version, hopefully they do both.

I am really hyped for this game either way, day 0.

Bah, nevermind, beaten to a pulp.

Aksys Games Dev.
We love you Aksel.

We'd love you even more if you had screens or localized names for us, but I guess it's a bit early for that.

All the information you seek and more will be revealed in due time~

Though maybe you can learn the truth faster if you access the morphogenic field

Comparisons are nice, PSV version certainly looks much nicer, but asset wise are they identical? I take it was a 3DS game ported to PSV late in the development?

Kagari, since you seem informed and not so tight lipped, cough once for a retail SKU on PSV, cough twice for PSN only, don't let me down now.

What happens if Kagari coughs three times?

Wouldn't it be more convenient to buy US PSN cards and just download the thing yourself?

Account switching can be a pain, assuming one does still want to get games or passes from the local PSN store aswell.

For that and other reasons I'm also only interested in a physical Vita copy, US DD is out of the question.

3DS is presumably the lead platform, yeah - IIRC, the first few sets of screenshots were all at 3DS' 5:3 aspect ratio, rather than Vita's 16:9.

Yes. The screens need to be in their native resolutions for the comparison to be fair. And even then you won't be able to see the 3D effect in the 3DS version.

To be really fair, you can't see the benefits of the gorgeous OLED in the PSV shots either.

A native res comparison wouldn't really be "fair" either, the 3DS pixels are much larger.

Vita looks better because the oled, the graphics are same.

That's an exceedingly stupid comparison image. OLED has infinitely better contrast, better response times and deeper colors than LCD, but it's certainly not sharper (at the same ppi).

(And I'm the biggest OLED fanboy you'll find)

There is no reason why it won't come on Vita, even as a PSN release. It's the same game, you need to do translation anyway. Might as well copy/paste 2 times, hit enter and voila - PSN version done.

Seriously, I don't get why anyone would doubt a US release for the Vita version. Western niche publishers like Aksys haven't abandoned PSP; why would they abandon Vita before it even launches here?
