Atlus USA announces Persona 4 Arena, Summer 2012

if there's anything i dislike about atlus, it's the american dubs

even if i don't understand what anyone is saying in the japanese audio i can still tell they're usually much better actors

No, you just think that because you can't understand it. Remember, one of the main reasons Shenmue USA was released in Japan was because Suzuki thought the English dub was better.

Is this game out in arcades? What's the general consensus from competitive scene?

Not out until next month here. I'll post impressions and video when the time comes.

As for the price point, I'm more than willing to bite if the package is worth it. Blazblue level of single player features would be more than enough.

Persona 4 Dub = Persona 4 JP.

You can make this point to an otaku five billion times over, and it will still never seem to actually enter their mind and be processed. I'd love to know the science behind it, really.

I don't think we have anything to worry about when it comes to dual voice tracks. It really doesn't sound like this game has anything more than what BB has had for the last few years, right down to the story mode.

What I'm more interested relates to any possible preorder bonuses/CEs and the difference in date between the two versions. Because after all, if the Japanese version beats the US release by like a month or so and has nice CE incentives, I'll just to start practicing early! :lol

Oh, I missed this because I had you on my ignore list.

But no, seriously the persona american dub fucking sucked. And I like the DBZ american dub more than the japanese one~

damn this shit is 60 dollars? I'm really surprised by that. Still looking forward to it, seems like there's 4 fighting games I already want this year :(.

For reference, it works both ways.

The average Japanese person will think the acting in some terrible American films is fantastic, despite that not being the case. Just like the average non-Japanese speaking American can't really tell the difference (unless it's really, really obvious).

Atlus does good work on their games, so I'm not worried. Would I like both, just to compare? Sure. But I don't need it.

Why would they? The Persona games only have English audio, so people are familiar with those actors here.

Well, BlazBlue does. It's not out of the question.

Still probably not gonna happen.

And I hope it gets a Midnight Arena subtitle, at least.
(Thanks for saving me the $80 import tax!)

... Sure this is retail. Looks just as worthy of Retail as Blazblue CT did, right?
Hopefully it comes with some nice Atlus-style Extras.

With Capcom offering English and Japanese voices in their games, I could see this game getting an english dub, especially with Sony demanding english dubs for their retail games. Need Liam O'Brian as Akihiko again!

And will be gladly getting this on 360 too. Glad it's not a system exclusive.

A little skeptical of getting it day one due to the price, but toss in some amazing pre order bonus, and day one for me.

I was already saving up to import it. Considering that, $60 is a bargain, especially if this gets a BlazBlue(re: 10 hour!) story mode.

At $60 to buy in with such a small roster, I'd want more than BB's story mode. I'd also want its training, challenge modes, as well as funky SP modes like the Survival/M.O.M. modes from later Guilty Gear home ports.

I knew I was getting my money's worth out of BB when I started unlocking "Teach Me, Miss Litchi!" episodes.

I don't know much about this game. Does the demi fiend or serph show up, at the very least as cameos?
