I like Aris. By that I mean I like his thoughts on games and players, his podcasts, and his commentary.

Regarding his anti-women, anti-gay remarks, I'm neutral. Not that I condone these things, I just don't pay them any mind because a lot of people in and out of the FGC say these things without thinking. Usually there's little to no malice behind it. If he was the only guy doing it, I would be pissed, but like Haunts said, so many people do it that we've become desensitized to it.

As for censorship or whatever.. At the end of the day, I want to see the FGC grow and the players rewarded. That's it. If the community itself wants to sabotage this by continuing to promote rape culture and actively work towards excluding anyone who doesn't enjoy treating those around them like shit, then there's nothing I can do. This extends to "stream monsters" as well. The out of control ugliness is very much starting to hamper people's impressions of the scene as well. On Twitch, I've gone on record that non-malicious trolling is fine. It can be pretty cute and mostly harmless. Cross Assault leads me to believe I should reevaluate that and take a firmer line. People can treat me like I'm the eSports Devil, and that's fine.

I agree with you on a lot of these things, especially since I have been in the Starcraft scene from almost the beginning, but if you're going to say all the things that the FGC should do, you should really say this to all communities and stop pointing it entirely at the FGC, because they aren't the only ones doing it. esports/sc/mlg/whatever scene does a lot of the same crap. Maybe because you're new to the scene you don't see it, but it happens.

I am sorry, am still confused a bit here. Community/Tournament organizers avoided you because they thought you would give preferential treatment to IPW, but how does that translate to you not showing their content/streams?

What were people scared of exactly if they were avoiding you? Not having their content featured on IPW, or that IPW would be one to pick and choose who would be shown on IPW?

Sorry about that. Basically, I knew folks had things they wanted to promote. I wanted to give more exposure (front page time, newsletters, tweets, ect) to all these organizers. Instead I got the cold shoulder. When I asked why, I got the feeling they wanted to go alone, assuming that it was futile to even work with me because I would just pass on them and give IPW the front page time, the newsletters, ect. I know this doesn't make any sense considering I was actively reaching out to feature them. That's what makes it so crappy.

I can't 100% believe Jin is ass. It really looks like no one has actually even touched him.

The only footage I saw was once at work for about 2 minutes of a Jin in Europe showing his fireballs which work similar to like an Aegis Reflector in that it goes somewhere on screen and stays there either for X amount of time, or until X amount of hits/block hits.

That alone should make him beastly for mix ups.

A stream monster on haunts stream just hooked me up with this. That's all I needed. I think he's the only other character I would maybe replace my Steve Fox on my team with. The problem with this is it's not a racist/sexist joke community it's a videogame community. People want to become a part of it cause they enjoy fighting games it should not be necessary for them to also enjoy casual (joking)racism/sexism.. These kinda things were bound to happen with growth and it's probably the right time for it to happen. But you can't take a side and say if you don't like it GTFO. Communities should be more progressive than that.

I mean did you guys see the WGC streams? The chat in those streams were mostly french guys getting hype. During the Soul Calibur V matches, some guys were trolling on twitter with the WGC hashtag so that their racist/profane tweets showed up on stream, but none of the guys in the chat were even paying them attention.

But then again, the commentary wasn't as exciting as Yipes/Matrix stuff. Sucks when the most hype stuff said on stream is 'Oh my days'.
