I quite liked this, even for a obvious fake, it's really good.

I was in such excited approval of this post, until I clicked the link and it was Other M.

Other M still had pretty good music. The game itself wasn't bad, the story was garbage. It was a bad Metroid game coming off the Prime trilogy, but it's hard to live up to such high standards.

To be honest, I've never played it, but after the Prime games, I wouldn't go near that thing.

I wonder if Halo 4's soundtrack will have some similarities with Daft Punks Tron Legacy soundtrack. For some reason that stood out to me as a style that could work with Halo in some ways.

Master Chief is totally a cliche though... Cortana was never 'really' sexed up or anything. She was always a hologram. A very important, intelligent hologram.

Is the Chief meant to be smart? Or just all brawn?

MC is a deeper character in the books, and I really expect that to shine through in Halo 4. Cortana is another character who is fantastic, so I really hope they expand on her as well. Oh, and the Arbiter also is great so I expect to see him back and playing a role.

I wonder if the games will explore how the races of the covenant are structured now and if we will see more strong characters like the Arbiter from other species.

Not by much. He's going to need to be completely characterized by upcoming events, because there's not much to draw from his past (unless 343 makes up some new shit).

He is thoroughly stoic. I can't see him reacting to anything.

Maybe all that time in cryo will make him a Sensitive Sam in the next game.

And then I would kill myself.

True, but I still feel there is more to him than just a guy with a gun. That said, I hope if he is fleshed out more that it is done carefully, and IMO the best way to do that is via Cortana.

Love those songs. Seriously, I could really see that direction working.

The first thing that stuck out to me in the trailer was Cortana calling him "John" rather than "Chief."

Bring on the Cortana trilogy. I also agree that the best way to give the Chief some depth is through Cortana.

The only major player in the entire Haloverse not directly tied to Cortana at this point is the Arbiter.

Does anyone else want a 30 minute "Know The Story" option in the menu with a 30 minute video explaining the events leading up to Halo 4 done by the studio that did the Halo Wars cut scenes.

Good for fans that love the lore and good for people who do not know the lore.

That would be awesome. It's been a while since I've played the original trilogy, so a refresher would be cool

lol, do we have any factual evidence to back such a claim up? Just because some random retards on Xbox Live go stupid when a girl is placed among them doesn't mean everyone views women as T&A.

Also, completely irrelevant to the topic, but I expect all of you young gunz who missed out on the Dreamcast to pick this up when it comes out on XBLA.

I also read in that thread that it's rumored Shenmue will be getting a port as well, Thermight, here's your chance to experience the Dreamcast in all its glory!
I found my Dreamcast games in the basement. I missed so much title back these days.(Like Shenmue 2)

No?

Halo: CE got a new graphic layer with Anniversary, Halo 2 looks still great on PC if you ask me, and Halo 3 has aged well. So why not replaying?

That would be fine as well but I do think a events before Halo 4 video would be great.

I wouldn't mind it, but it isn't strictly necessary. It's a new trilogy by a new studio, I'm sure they want to start off fresh. "Last time on Halo!..." doesn't really do that.

New studio does not mean the previous events did not happen and there are plenty of people who did not read the books that would be interested in previous lore. I know this is what Origins was trying to achieve but it didn't quite hit the mark.

Yup, and it gives me hope for a lot more depth from both characters and the overall story.

As other have said, that would work beat for a Halo Waypoint video, but it would be cool to see it remastered. Of course, full Halo waypoint integration for Halo 4 would make both possibilities happen.

So, uh, this is pretty interesting, fake or not: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOPFPWOGSrs

So yeah, that was still a cool thing to watch even if it was fake. Some of those visuals were stunning. (Lets just say its real.. I doubt its a ViDoc but rather something like the audio recording sessions.) But yeah, Im going with a cool fake.

If Halo 4 will be at the Spring Showcase we should know soon. Lets hope, but not hope too badly.

Like seriously, once a GAF party goes over 5 people it should be an unspoken rule that it breaks off into two smaller parties. I'm salty over that last game we played, and we won to top it off!

Considering the date is November 21st? Fake.

Tuesdays are the launch days for pretty much every major release besides Nintendo releases, the 21st is a Wednesday.

I'm always amazed at the number of people that don't realize media retail releases are almost always on Tuesdays (in the US at least) when they make fakes of stuff.

I am not going to lie I am getting a bit tired of all these fake leaked things. That video was cool but we have gone so long with out anything we have to rely on fake leaks to go "Oh that could be cool" or ect. Its fun to speculate but we have been doing that for quite some time now :/

Yeah I dont get it, you think they would have learned after every Halo game released on a Tuesday or they always go to a midnight launch on a Monday night lol

Totally. And what a difference it makes. It immediately adds a more personal, familiar, and even vulnerable touch to their dynamic. Their relationship has the potential to be one of the most interesting in video game history, I'd say.

I'd be down with that.

Headlong was wasted on this game. :(
Yup. :-(

Well, at least this fake certainly has some quality behind it that is nice to look at. Too bad the final game wont come close to that level of visual fidelity.

I know games release on Tuesdays, but that has me thinking, what day of the week is it normal for big news to hit? Such as the eventual Halo 4 media drop?
