Regarding Uncharted's gyro aiming: I thought of it as "tilt controls" at first as well, and was less than impressed. You need to think of it as moving your viewpoint into the game space. When you do it with large arm motions, the precision is astounding. (Likely the reaction in public would be as well

Yep. Unless you care about Uncharted MP (I don't), GA is a meatier game than any of the mainline Uncharted games.
I've only played it for about half an hour, but it seemed fine to me. The text and the character portraits are a little grainy from being scaled up, but overall it looked pretty good.
I know, but the frequency of quitters on the Vita seems much higher compared to the console. Might be because quitting and getting back into a game is so much easier and faster on the Vita.
It's still lame when I lose to a guy 3 times in a row in ranked, and finally beat him in the 4th game and he quits.
I did start out playing player matches but wanted to see how far I could get in their arbitrary and meaningless ranking/level system.
Just to make sure again, is it normal for a similar faint gray spot (looks like a small paw) to appear when the blue loading box "please wait" pops up? My old Vita had that; I'm getting a replacement in two days and hope nothing like that happens again if it's not normal.The uninformed display talk in this thread and my own curiosity got the best of me, so I present this:
I wish I could have added an original DS lite to the comparison, but I don't know how to make that show a black screen.
The Galaxy S2 actually looks better than the Vita in absolute blackness, but it's a competition at a level entirely unreachable by LCD. It's like comparing SSD access times when the competition is a spinning HDD.
I bought Maverick Hunter X last night to give it a try on the Vita, and I was really impressed with how it looked the 2D art especially looks great on the system. The d-pad is really one of the best I've used, very glad that they've managed to put an unsegregated d-pad on a sony system it works great on the game.
Mega Man X is one of my favorite games, but I've never gotten around to trying Maverick Hunter. I assumed it was just a 3D remake, and I really didn't have any interest in playing just a polygonal version, but it's great that the powerups are re-hidden, and that there are new mini-bosses. Excited to try the new playable character, even though I've not got that far. I've also noticed that the game seems much harder than the original. For $10, it's especially great.

You should of got it when it was $39.99...well worth the price at $39.99....$50.00 for any portable game to me is too expensive, so hopefully Uncharted was a one off.
Yeah, between Hot Shots and Lumines, I'm pretty much set. Just started Hot Shots last night and it's so damn good, mechanically sound with a lot of content and charm (something that's sorely lacking in western developed sports titles). Hopefully I can get my wi-fi set up soon so I can get in on the GAF games.

I think its totally worth the price. It is longer then the first Uncharted that originally was 59.99, and for me its almost as good as Uncharted 2. Using the "portable title" only goes so far with me since I am happy I have a fantastic Uncharted game I can take with me anywhere.
I hope you get your wi-fi up soon too, although GAF games seem to be right when I am working (no wi-fi here at work). Hopefully I can catch a few on the days I am off.

Near updating? Maybe doing some online work in the background?
It does it for me. I know I have Near on all the time. Sometimes I get notifications right on my Start Screen.

Nothing beats popping in Uncharted, progressing a level. Then throwing in Hot Shots, winning a 9 hole tournament, playing Katamari and rolling up a huge ball full of children, moving on to Wipeout and doing a time trial all in under an hour and a half.

To my knowledge, Powered Up has never been released on PSN, at least in North America. Makes zero sense considering that Maverick Hunter X has been on the service for a long while.

Playing as Vile is really fun, it's the old classic game but with completely new weapon mechanics, Vile has 3 weapons in use at a time and you gain new machineguns, lasers and grenade launchers for him. You also unlock a Hard Mode after finishing the game for a real challenge ;D

Been playing Monster Hunter for 2+ hours now and am only at half battery life. Is PS Store slow as shit for anyone else? I had the Please Wait screen for 2 minutes before i could even look at the store!

Gamestop is selling them online, I'm not sure about in-stores, but they sell cards for individual DLC and stuff, so probably.

There's issues regarding the translation's ownership that Capcom USA wouldn't feel the effort would be justified on. Same goes for Legends on PSone Classics.

If it's stuck on the please wait screen for more than 30 seconds, I quit it completely and re-open - it loads just fine after that.
You get it after your first 30 days.

Depends on the orientation of the Vita and your prior experience with the sort of thing.

So I have the unlimited data plan through AT&T through my Iphone. Does that same data plan extend to the Vita or is it completely seperate?

You can't share AT&T data plans between an iPhone and an iPad much less a Vita.
** Beyond hacking the iPhone to support tethering I'm pretty sure you can't.
