It's too bad my thread was locked, it was actually discussing the rumored specs, even started to speculate on what they would do...
I know BGassassin doesn't agree with those specs and think it's something else, but the stuff he heard as target specs, could very well start with these specs in the early dev kits, since that wouldn't be ready quite yet.
That rumor for instance leads me to believe that they will be using the APU for it's 4core CPU and it's 480 shaders for OpenCL, especially considering that Sony cancelled cell use in the PS4, OpenCL would be a way to get that power back, and I am sure that the GPU they are using is just something they have to use currently, I expect it to be a 1.2Tflop+ chip... Wii U wouldn't end up far behind this, but that depends on how the APU's GPU is used, for instance, if an exclusive decided to do something like ray tracing, you could see it use both GPUs together and end up with close to 2Tflops of performance that a lot of posters on these forums expect.
I actually fully believe in those specs now, especially since Vita's specs were released something like 2 years early, Sony doesn't have Ninja's like Nintendo, and they couldn't pay for them if they did. This is how you make a cheap but powerful console, it's smart and hopefully it leads to the renascence of physics that I've been waiting for since PhysX all those years ago announced their PPUs.
