What have they retconned in the movies that they have produced so far?

The actors! Just messing around. Referencing how Marvel and D.C. love to retcon storylines such as 52, one more day, crisis on infinite earths, etc. Wondering when they'll start doing that with the movies.

I just rewatched Iron Man 1 and The Incredible Hulk.

Iron Man 1 was great.
The Incredible Hulk is really not. It has the weakest story and characters of all the pre-Avengers movies.

Incredible Hulk is the weakest of the films? Did you watch Thor? Maybe I was the only one but I really enjoyed the pace of Incredible Hulk, it kept me engaged and Ed Nroton did a great job. Also Ed Norton and Liv Tyler had good chemistry. Much better than the stupid smirking Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth did all the way through Thor.

Loki is the best part of Thor. Everything outside of him looks and sounds like a SyFy movie. Just give Loki his own movie.

Thor and Jane Foster scenes bored me to death.

Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly had decent chemistry. Norton and Tyler have nothing, and Portman and Hemsworth have something that is somehow worse than nothing.

Really The Incredible Hulk is a terrible, terrible movie. I don't know if it's as bad as Captain America but it's certainly down there.

Never understood why you liked Thor more than Captain America. I know Captain America had a messy second half but the first half was solid and it could have been a very good movie if they had focused and been given more time to tell the story. Thor is just, well I don't know how you could fix that film.

Having just rewatched Thor tonight, it is still fun. The best part is still Loki though. Hemsworth is great, but Hiddleston just made Loki so awesome.

The movie would have been so much more awesome if it just stayed in Asgard or any realm other then Earth though.

Agreed. The stuff on Earth is purely second act filler to sideline the more interesting plot developments long enough until they arbitrarily decide "okay movie's long enough" and resolve it.

Strangely, I still liked Thor more than most of the Marvel movies.

Can I admit that the uptight SHIELD Agent is my favorite? Why couldn't he have run SHIELD during Civil War instead of Maria Hill?

is it proper 3D or post-process 3D? Considering seeing the 3D version just because there are more showings at convenient times - would prefer to see the 2D but its not getting many screens in the UK

You guys are all selling Captain America short. It's a great movie, and tied with Iron Man for best Marvel movie.

I actually enjoyed Captain America more than Thor, except for that stupid-ass clown enemy of his. Both films have charismatic and convincing lead actor but the story in both films falls apart in the 2nd half. In Captain America's case, it feels rushed and the villains don't feel as threatening as they should be. In Thor's case, the visit to Earth is boringsville, only partly saved by Hemsworth's comedic timing. Thankfully both films ended rather well. Oh, Captain America's love interest has better characterization than boring Nat Portman's character in Thor.

Heres the order IMO:

Iron Man
Captain America
Thor
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2

But just to clarify, I would give Iron Man 2 three stars.

6 days. *swag*
*looks at release* Holy shit, I didn't know. So awesome. Now I need someone to go with me.

I loved Captain America.
Yeah, me too. It kind of surprises me that so few like it here in Holland. As an origins story it's quite good (on par with the first Iron Man) but my only complaint about the movie is that the remaining thirty minutes went by to fast. I dunno, they should have extended it by twenty minutes or so.

I'm also a sucker for Tommy Lee Jones. Guy was funny.

Should I see all the movies from before? I saw Iron Man 1 and I'm planning to see Thor this weekend, what else should I see?

Like others have said, Incredible Hulk is the only Avengers movie that isn't important to the Avengers canon. You should definitely watch IM2, Thor and Capt America to be prepared. And watch Thor before Capt America...at least Thor's end credit clip.

I've liked all of the Marvel movies so far. :(

eh, don't let the trolls get to you. At this point, you can predict what their responses will be in this thread, since they've repeated them over & over.

And I agree with you. I've enjoyed the Marvel movies so far. I do think IM2 is the weakest one of them all, and I've still watched 3x so far, and will watch it one more time before the Avengers.

Will be watching Thor, Iron Man 2 and Captain America next week for the first time. Should I expect bad?

Expect a good time.

I loved the concept of Captain Ameria movie, but it really bored me to tears and it just looked awful. Thor gets lot of crap for it's cheap setting that the desert gave it, but Captain Ameria felt like the whole movie was filmed in front of a green screen. Thor was meh still but Cap was my most dissapointing marvel movie so far.

Ghost Rider 2 was more fun than all of them though :p

Yeah all the weekend evening screenings seem to be 3D only at Odeon and that will be the only time i can spare.

I don't think there is much on this page that counts as trolling. There are some very obvious problems with both Thor and Captain America and people can point them out if they wish. I'm not rooting for any movie to be bad. I think the only Marvel film that I thought was genuinely bad was Thor. Captain America definitely has a strong first half and I enjoyed Iron Man and Incredible Hulk.

No none of them are new.

The Incredible Hulk sucks because you feel nothing for any of the characters. The action is ok but that's all it has.

In Thor, you kinda feel sorry for Loki and can see where he's coming from. In Captain America, the first half of the movie and the ending bit do a great job of making you like Cap as a person.

None of the movies are as good as Iron Man 1, but IMO The Incredible Hulk is the weakest because it's the only movie that manages to make you feel indifferent to all the characters.

I'm stunned at how much earlier this film is debuting outside North America.

A friend of mine that's more or less indifferent to the film and the Marvel franchise is attending a screening tonight in town. So jealous.

They tried so hard to make him badass, but I couldn't buy it.

A solider, even at 40 years old, should be in far better shape than he was. He looked like a frail old man from the start.

no way man, Tim Roth is the fucking man, love the guy and i thinks he oozes badassery whenever he's on screen!

Anyway i liked Hulk as well, Thor was great too except for Portman who could have literally be replaced by just about ANYONE in that movie!
