"Not a fat chance."You guys still expecting GTAV to happen? I guess nobody wants to develop AAA games across four platforms.

This is something I'd love. Nintendo could create their own ecosystem and survive independantly of third parties. That would be such incredible sweetness.I think Nintendo should money hat some key third party titles and forget about massive 3rd party support, and start working on more second party titles to fill the voids. In other words:
-Make more Xenoblades
-Publishing more Fatal Frames
-Fund more Last Stories
-Buy out more Monoliths
-Work more closely with near third parties like Level 5, Marvelous.
-Create some new IPs (Retro).
If 3rd parties don´t want to create content on Wii U Nintendo should make those via funding, co-developments, in exchange of total exclusivity.

Yikes.Wise decision, the thread already claimed its first victim.
Door2Dawn.
The Crysis 3 thread...

Always the same goddamn story, the same thing always happen.
Why do we keep making these thread?[/QUOTE]
Now you know how we feel in the Black Culture thread. Somebody finds some depressing shit about black people, we SMH'd and hope nobody makes a topic. Then, like clockwork, somebody makes a topic and you get whole bunch of stupid ass replies like "If black people didn't DRESS like dangerous people, maybe they'd get treated better", and you want to say something, but it's no good and arrrrrrrgh
Ok, I'll try and explain this as best as I can, since I'm not 100% well versed on this all.
Theoretically, they can go past 2GB.
However, and this is the important part, not without a fairly large increase in price and heat.
Consoles work completely differently from PCs. You have to hardwire the memory onto the board, and, right now, there is no easy way to get enough connections for more than 2GB of memory on a circuit board.

this is wrong. first of all, the number of connections on the board is the same whether you're soldering memory on or you're going through a DIMM slot. in fact, that the memory is soldered directly onto the board greatly decreases the complexity of the design vs. having to design a package that will accept memory added in later.
basically:
PCs go from the CPU->the DIMM slots->the memory
consoles go from the CPU->the memory (the exclusion of the DIMM slots alone means at least a few hundred fewer electrical contacts on the board)
there is no reason why it would be more expensive than a PC to implement >2GB memory. in fact, it would be cheaper.
heat is another matter; with the size of a Wii U you couldn't use very fast timings without eventually melting the plastic case. but I'm betting Nintendo isn't looking to use some uber fast expensive memory (just a hunch)
RandomVince said:I'm going Wii U only next gen. Reasons being, for the main part I don't trust Microsoft hardware or Sony networking. At all. And mainly, Mario and Zelda were the 4 best games this gen for me.
Third part support would be nice. Games like GTA, portal etc. But I can deal without them if needs be.
I don't think I've bought a 3rd party ps360 game in six months.
The next six weeks are going to be nasty, aren't they?

I just made a post elsewhere saying this should be the most likely concern to have with Wii U's power. Signs seem to point towards Wii U have two stages of power. If games don't push towards the second stage, how likely will they even push the first stage? While PS3's difficulties kept most from pushing the hardware, will Wii U's easy portability (for most) make some to most devs content with just getting the game to run on Wii U and nothing more?
Some of you should do what I do. If I click on that type of thread (I don't half the time), I only skim maybe the first page as I already know how it will turn out.
Well the next two will be spent discussing the awesome news from this coming friday. So really only 4 weeks. And the two weeks before E3 there's usually a leak, so really, only two weeks.
It'll go by like that.
The next six weeks are going to be nasty, aren't they?
Yep! It made me lol (Post©BP) and then less lol.BP may get in trouble for an accusatory tone toward the mods, though:
lol there aren't 200 games that sold a million copies on wii

Are you kidding? You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding.
Pull an EatChildren and I and build yourself a beefy gaming PC rig. Most of the good third party titles will go there, and you won't need to play FPS/TPS games with crappy dual-analog pads either, like you more than likely will with the 3 consoles and their default control schemes.
I can understand the comparison. That whole, "god.. let's not draw attention.. please don't..awww DAMN" thought pattern. No, I am not, and that's really just the...tip of the ignorant iceberg. The Zimmerman thread and the one thread that had this White Oppression Defense Force were my recent favorites.
Off-topic now, but just know, Wii-UGAF...BlackGAF understands

The trolls need something to boost their egos. After all, they'll be shattered once they see the Wii U blows their little 360 and PS3 out of the water.
I´ve been saying for years, it´s a great time to invest in other guys that make the job, add to this Nintendo supervision and you have quality software. This is something I'd love. Nintendo could create their own ecosystem and survive independantly of third parties. That would be such incredible sweetness.
...
Is it just me who thinks it'll be like back when nobody wanted to do PS3 ports because it was difficult, being more advanced architecture? Then Bioshock and such came out anyway.
One thing I'm optimistic about is that Wii U might be more powerful than what I'm expecting. If it is more powerful than PS3/360, we might see third parties bring games to Wii U as a base line for development with Durango and Orbius being the superior version. This endeavour to court third-parties is turning out to be just as sickening as I expected. I hope there's some kind of threshold to cross when every dev won't have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the platform. Don't see it happening though.
It just kind of ruins the excitement for what is going to be a great system for Nintendo fans.
You are aware, of course, that even the more optimistic leakers are not using terms like "blows out of the water", yes?
(urgh, I'm a page behind but catching up!)
ShockingAlberto said:But games that do take advantage of the Wii U's hardware are going to blow this current gen out of the water. I am not sure we'll see that at E3 (seriously, think back to nearly every console's launch, most of those titles don't stand up today), but I'm sure we'll see it eventually.
BP may get in trouble for an accusatory tone toward the mods, though:
If the mods are going to put themselves above everyone but then act no different than everyone else, they should be prepared for criticism. I've been a mod on a fairly large forum myself, and I got far worse insult flung at me. You know what? I didn't ban them for it just because I was a mod.
Hey BP, if someone like Wario64 can actually get banned I'd be careful.
1 more day to go.

But I'll change the wording.

I'm gonna make a request for Wave Race Wii-U.
I'm gonna make a request for Wave Race Wii-U. I thought Blue Storm was a great launch title for the GC, not just because it was a pretty decent game, but it really showed off the water physics and weather effects the system could do. It's one of those games that sell because there's literally nothing else on the console, but goddamnit, I liked it.
There's good news for Nintendo. Well, at least for the 3DS...
Just look at this thread. It turns out that the much rumoured Monster Hunter game for the Vita... is a puzzle game spin-off.... for the PSP...

I would like to know where he got the number.
It is within possibility, but the only numbers Nintendo has really given is the list of games that have sold 1 million copies in the US only as of the third calendar quarter of 2011. This quantity is forty-two.
Given that it is now over half a year later and that this million seller number is from one country only, it is certainly possible. We'd need to see, for example, a list of "half-million sellers" in the US, which would probably be a lot closer to that 200 mark.
I can say this: Jokeropia did not get his number from that site. The numbers they have aren't even close to what he's providing.
edit: I should note that the overall software sales in the US of the Wii is in the same ballpark as the Xbox 360's and is likely decently higher worldwide overall. We did some calculation on this earlier during a slow night, and I'll try to find it.
Man I just read the last few pages of this thread. Most of you guys are making it out like that thread is misinformation or something. Come on guys...You can't just call misinformation/it's not what it looks like on every story.
