IF Nintendo was a patent troll like Apple Sony would be dancing by now...but they got used to rip off Nintendo, lets not forget Move...
I mean there is nothing you can do about copiers they see you having success they want a piece of the pie its the way things works...anyways its such a shameless ripoff that might be the biggest downfall the game has..and I dont really know sony characters like they but it also seems the game might have a low list of characters.

True, so do something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA5mcKjobOI

Even as a backup to have something in case Sony/Microsoft drop unexpected next gen bombs.

Yeah, just saying "smash brothers" on stage last year got people all flustered. Showing anything at all is going to get people stir crazy. The only thing the sony smash game has done for me is reinvigorate my excitement for SSB4 :-D

And as much as I like sonic well love sonic and solid snake in brawl If they are in ASBR I hope they do not make a return in the next smash..everything will just look weird..

Ubisoft won the prize for first LEAK

damn E3 spoiled now

but WOW

and ideaman was right I give the guy props because he was dropping hints like crazy about this one

The only problem is there's no possible way they'd have enough time to put something like that together by E3. Sakurai would have had to modify the game engine and get a TON of asset work done under 6 months time. No way man.
Not really, Brawl was revealed with a target render. They can pull off a target render, it wouldn't be simple to do without overpromising or underwhelming, but it is possible to pull off smartly.
I am surprised Nintendo didn't give Ubi incentive to make the game exclusive and help Ubi make the IP popular again, trying to sell it to people who bought DKCR and NSMBWii.

oh shit!

looks great!

The whole part where there was 3 wiimote + 1 upad players made me think of how awesome a dungeon keeper sequel would be with that setup.

Just imagine 3 players in the game while the upad player is playing dungeon master and altering the level as they go!

From the other thread:

I wonder if its NFC technology or if its image recognition. The tablet has the tech. I'm 99% sure its NFC, but will they make an NFC heart? A large Assassin's creed model with NFC? Or will there be software to recognize Ubisoft artwork by showing the item to the camera. Like hey, I know that toy, its Enzio, or a Rabbid, I recognize it and have content for it. Hmm.

Also the French are the worst at keeping secrets lol.

So... Identical?

The cord is very suspicious. It physically looks like something from a dev kit or test unit than it does something that nintendo would ship. I'm starting to wonder if this was an in-progress trailer meant to be circulated internally before reshooting some of the controller stuff with the final model.

Indeed, the cord is too bulky and its design aesthetic doesn't fit in with the system -> dev unit.

Geniusses think alike :)

I thought of that too. It looks weird with those seperate cords going into the connector. Its propably dev kit related. The DRC of the dev kit may not even have a battery and that is the momentary power source. etc... There are many possible explanations!

Just listening to the placeholder music should've made that much very clear.

final design not wireless?

using a wire doesn't imply that the thing is incapable of wireless. As to why not use it in the trailer, it could be for a reason other than the controller itself not being wireless, like them wanting to ensure everything shown is working optimally or it could be a really early trailer that was only suppose to circulate internally before getting all dolled up for public viewing.

I didn't like the demo for Origins. I didn't like how the platforming felt. To me it felt choppy. Think this will be any different?

Also, any graphical effects in there that weren't in Origins?

EDIT: Is that Back To The Future music at the cheesy "One More Thing" part? Excellent.

So, i know it's risky to show some skepticism here but that's what i said on the Trailer thread :

Bad news is .. it's gonna be hard for Nintendo to convince the world those features are revolutionary... Plus now i need ubi toys collection and 3 wiimote to have fun with this game... ?

Even the asymmetric gameplay.. Nothing you couldn't do with controllers. I guess you could even do that in LBP by letting just one player move certain things.. Game design, it can be interesting!

I'm sorry but i can't help but thinking like that. Nintendo will have to impress with its concept at some point. Weird thing is we know the WiiU has some secret features. Now, wouldn't they be in a leaked trailer, at least it's a fake leak ? Or a terribly old wip trailer ?

You're jumping to a whole bunch of conclusions. This was obviously an unfinished leaked trailer, and what was shown isn't indicative at all of everything the controller can do. And if you feel compelled to buy figurines for gimmicky additional content, well nintendo and ubisoft are doing their jobs well and I don't think you can fault them for that.

If I were Nintendo and still had some cards I wanted to keep close to my chest, Ubisoft would be the last people I'd tell!

I won't buy any toys :p
What i'm saying is for exemple, if this is one of the "secret" features, to be able to recognize an object. It's just a marketing thing and won't add any gameplay value. I just hope that's not the Nintendo philosophy here. Just making people buy more things. That works only when you have something breath taking and revolutionary...

Just because you wont enjoy it doesn't mean millions of kids wont go apeshit over such a feature.

Yeah precisely. I love it when people just recognize when their fav brand is just trying to make money and doesn't add anything, and they enjoy it :p

My god, just think of Pokemon... where will you find space for 600 figurines?

Also the figurines remind me of smash bros trophies.... just sayin'

This is a multiplatform game. Expect minimal significant differences for those. If there's any real new use for the controller then it will be used in exclusives.
