Wii U Speculation thread IV: Photoshop rumors and image memes

Haha. You did call the over.

Crazy that we're very likely to see a sixth thread before the press conference. Imagine where we would be if the new people, HT, and GPW were posting in the first thread.

I just can't believe that we made it through the first thread with what little we had.
I mean, compare what we know now to what we knew then. People complain about having no news. But we've had lots over the past three threads. In the first... we had E3. That was it. No leaks, no hints, nothing.

Hopefully what Ideaman is teasing is indeed about the system supporting two Wii U controllers at the same time.
My little heart can't take this anymore :(

lmao.. that was so awkward!

Sometimes I feel like I am viewing different threads then you guys.

If we're going with a Groundhog Day title it would be:

Wii U Speculation Thread V: Don't Post Angry!

Sometimes I feel like I am viewing different threads then you guys.

We've had people working on the system posting about it.
We've had industry insiders posting hints and facts.
We've gotten confirmation for a lot of internal Nintendo stuff (Monolith, NN, NFC, yadda yadda).
Hell, we even got a leaked trailer for a Wii U game!
We've had lots of stuff to go off of, if you actually pay attention.

Wii U Speculation Threads: 5 - Actual News: 0

I have a new #1.

People talk about this and the last thread being slow when it falls to the second page. I remember the first thread falling to like the fifth or sixth (probably further) page before a post would happen and talks of closing it and waiting till E3. Also I was using the first thread to re-acclimate myself to tech talk as much as trying to speculate on Wii U.

lol I just want something dynamic and interesting like the PS3 interface. I am "white background and tiles"-out after the Wii and 3DS.

I want the option to have user defined themes the same way that the PSP and PS3 can have. I'm a big fan of Fallout and both my PSP and PS3 look like Pip-Boys lol. Just download one file from the internet, pop it in and BAM! Instant Pip-Boy!

That's the main thing that annoys me about my 360 - no free, user-defined themes.

Well I should have a gif ready for the next thread (;

PS: Never making another gif again.

I resolve to learn the art of gif making by the end of the year. It's gotta be done. I have so many ideas, and such little talent..

Also, an edit for a new title idea >>>
Wii U Speculation Thread V: {Insert Mod's Chosen Title *Here*}

{I hope they laugh at that.. :) }

:)

Grabbing the vids, cropping them and creating the actual gifs is no problem, it's creating a nice banner text or other tricks that takes a bit of practice.

Photoshopping is what I need to learn. I need to find some good tutorials.

I've been paying attention. I just feel like I could have casualled watched that leaked Rayman Legend Video in April and in two minutes known pretty much every substantial detail I learned about the Wii-U after E3 2011 (which I've spent countless hours trying to find).

Considering all the major events that have passed by, we still know very little IMO. A lot less then I thought we would at least. I doubt even the most pessimistic of us Nintendo followers would of believed we would have such a information draught since last E3.

you should just call it Wii U Speculation Thread Episode IV: A New Hype

So any new info these days or are you guys just contemplating the name for the final thread before E3?

Not a terribly huge amount, but some nice little gems:

#18805: Unconfirmed possible Google employee allegedly in-the-know waxing positive (if vaguely) about the Wii U OS layer (oh, fine… partly confirmed at #18872)

#18993: Really nice summary of Nintendo's former "Nintendo ES" operating system project and how the lead programmer went from Nintendo to Google, and ES is currently co-copyrighted by Nintendo and Google.

#19130: Nintendo patent showing charging dock for DRC

#19434: An interview of Renegade Kid with a little tidbit about the Wii U (they know nothing)

#19466: Wii U SDK has been upgraded to v2.04 in the past few days (up from March/April's v2.03)

I wouldn't mind seeing that happen this time around. It would feel right, especially as the usual pre-E3 leaks begin to show-up, fueling.. new hype.

Also.. the 3rd of May in 2006 was when Ubisoft issued a press release confirming a certain title for Launch Day for the Wii.

Ubisoft said:
London, UK - MAY 3, 2006 - Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers announced plans to release the fourth instalment of the Rayman® franchise, now officially titled Rayman Raving Rabbids™, worldwide in Holiday 2006. Scheduled for current and next-generation video game consoles, Rayman Raving Rabbids™ also joins the line-up as an official launch title for Nintendo’s Wii™, formerly known as Nintendo’s Revolution gaming system, and its innovative controller. Rayman Raving Rabbids™ is being developed by Ubisoft’s award-winning studio in Montpellier, France led by Michel Ancel, creator of the original Rayman game, the critically acclaimed Beyond Good & Evil™ and Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie.

Rayman Raving Rabbids™ marks the return of the iconic video-game hero, Rayman, in his funniest and zaniest adventure ever. When the world of Rayman is threatened by a devastating invasion of crazed, out-of-control bunnies Rayman must rise up against his furry foes to foil their wicked plans. Utilizing an array of amazing new abilities, and with the help of magical creatures, Rayman must break out all the moves to save his world from these delirious bunnies and their hare-raising antics.

“It’s a real pleasure for me to be back working on an all-new Rayman,” said Michel Ancel. “After wrapping up Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie, the team here in Montpellier sat down to talk about having some fun with Rayman and his universe. We are running into a bit of a problem, though, because our game has been invaded by thousands of raving mad and vicious bunnies, who have apparently been preparing this assault since the very first Rayman game. We are now sending an SOS to all motivated gamers to help us get rid of them as fast as possible!”

Key Features:
Combat the Ultra-Crazed Evil Rabbits - Take control of Rayman and his knack for attack to help save his world from the raving rabbids. They are mischievous, insane and completely out of control. There are several types of rabbids each with its own mischievous characteristics.
Master and Ride Creatures - Tame and control various creatures such as sharks, eagles, rhinos, spiders and angelfish. Rayman can master each animal’s unique capabilities to help in his battle against the devious rabbits.
Dress to Impress - Customize and disguise Rayman. Go punk, pop, rock or hip hop to infiltrate the bunnies and foil their devious plans.
Explore the Colorful Fantastic World of Rayman - Explore amazing free-roaming environments and beautiful epic landscapes that mix real and fantastical styles to create a visually stunning experience.

These are really cool. It's like we can "race" this time versus last time in terms of how news was released. :D

Guys, i thought I was excited before. I dont post as often as you guys, but i always have a tab on this thread, either at work or at home.

I understand giddy hype. A week before DE:HR, i became obsessed. Knowing that game was coming so close ruined games for me until release. But i had yet to feel that way for the Wii U. Its a nintendo console, its a no brainer i will own it, unlike DE:HR of which was a mystical unknown property to me. I barely knew anything about the series even at that point.

But ideamans post that there is something major that nintendo has kept secret even from major partners, got me to the next level. It gave me that mystery element i needed to go super saiyan. Thoughts and dreams are running rampant through my head. The idea of a major bomb, like android on my screen in game with all the features that brings, has got me crazy excited even if it doesnt pan out. The kind of excitement that usually only comes the weekend before E3, or Christmas eve when i was younger.

So thank you WUST gang. This ride has been amazing.

Impossible Scenario Question Time - Choose Wisely

Ok, guys, would you rather:

A - see the Nintendo E3 press conference 3 days early (Sunday before conference) - BUT you may not view or post on GAF for the entire week
B - see the conference the same time as every one else, just like the other years
C - E3 sensory deprivation until Friday night (including GAF, etc.) - BUT you can play two of the Wii U games firsthand

True. Their attitude left many of us wanting, myself included.

They've been kinda saying the right things regarding which crowd is going to be their focus this time around, and E3 is going to be when we start to see if they're following those words with actions. Which games they show in their conference, how they choose to advertise their system, which features they emphasize.. E3's gonna be very revealing.

Hell, just the first few minutes of their conference could tell us a lot. If they open the conference with fifteen minutes of Wii Fit U, I'm going to have trouble restraining myself in anger.
What if the Wii Fit U video has a wall blowing up, showing that it was really a Black Ops 2 video. Terry Crews will come in and save the day.
it's time...it's time....it's vader time.

I know that this seems weird, but I think I'd choose B. It's part of the whole experience, honestly.

Exactly.

Half the fun of LOST was the discussion afterward.
Half the fun of E3 is experiencing the blowups, anger, and meltdowns firsthand. The news are about games i wont be able to play for months. People freaking out, posting awesome gifs, seeing new memes be born, that stuff is enjoyed in the moment.
