*pokes his head in*

Oh, this is actually good? I should probably go see it then

Yup. makes a very, very strong argument for best film in its genre. Definitely the best thing that Marvel has put out, period.

Some might prefer The Dark Knight re: comic movies, but that's really a different kind of film.

as for 1.) absolutely. there can be fallout between actors and directors, people get injured, people get pregnant- contracts aren't 100% guarantees. they just make certain things more likely.
as for 2.) Comic audiences are NOTORIOUSLY picky. Things like "where is hero x?" have to be addressed in print, just as they would in film. I'd expect the actors and directors to encourage you to watch Iron Man 3 for answers about War Machine.

Ah, that means maybe I misunderstood the comic audience. If Marvel is treating MCU as they treat, for example, 616 and Ultimates universe, then maybe I have nothing to worry about. Except for the shit that can happen, but hey.

Avengers.
TDK
X-Men 2/First Class
Spider-Man 2

[BIG GAP]

Everything else.

Fixed.

They seem to be. There's a lot of callbacks, and interconnected stuff.

1.)Hulk's origin was rewritten into an accident resulting from trying to re-create Captain America, and Fury brings this up in conversation. What was so special about the serum? Why try to replicate it? Because of what Steve Rogers did in the Captain America Movie.
2.)Fury (or was it Coulsen?) Took the time to explain that Thor's love interest from his standalone film had been moved to a safe location where Loki couldn't find her- she wasn't left as a dangling plot thread.
3.)Black Widow was reluctant to go and try to recruit stark, due to the events of Iron Man 2. They didn't "forget" that stark might not be receptive to the woman who spied on his organization.
4.)There's a throwaway scene where Hulk Tries to lift Mjolnir mid-fight, and Can't- a nice callback to Thor (where no one could lift it) but also probably setting up as significant if and when someone else (Rogers) manages to in a time of crisis in a later movie.
5.)When caught with a cache of hydra weapons on the helicarrier and the plan to use them, Fury blames Thor and the Destroyer- plausibly bringing up the fact that the events of Thor showed the US government was woefully unprepared and rightfully would panic at the thought of gods and aliens landing on the planet.

Whoever wrote this was really paying attention to detail to events of previous movies, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more than a few things no one noticed become surprisingly relevant later (i.e. captain america's shield in Iron Man).

It's nowhere near the best superhero movie ever made, don't let these guys bloat your expectations.

Nolan's Batman's are better, Spiderman 1/2 are better, even X-Men 2 is better imo. Avengers is worth watching though. I like my comic movies to have a bit of seriousness in them and character stuff. Avengers is just popcorn fun with a diabolical villain plot. There is no emotional involvement what so ever except laughing, that's why it isn't as good as the others.

Avengers is without a doubt the best Comic Book Superhero Movie.

TDK is a fantastic movie but Its not really a comic book movie

As i said before, Avengers us a superhero movie while Nolans Batman is a crime movie. Nolans universe does not have any super powers

I feel the same way , i know TDK is a comic book movie but it just don't feel that way compare to the Avengers .
Then again maybe it's because Avengers is something i never thought i see happen and it end up being good.

Does it matter what is a comic book/superhero movie? Both Batman and Avengers pretty much delivered what they intended to do. BB/TDK/TDKR is much more bleak and grounded in reality, Avengers is louder and had many supernatural elements like outer space and aliens shit. If I watched both movies with the same vague "comic book movie" expectation, I'm bound to be disappointed in either one. Thankfully I'm not.

This is the greatest movie to ever great!
I love all of the Hulk smash scenes. When he smashes Loki I wanted to
pull my dick out start jacking off.
I felt like a little boy all over again.

Well, that movie was essentially the quintessential special effects showcase and was definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. Goddam. You can't over hype it...

Also reviews are so pathetic. And the more popular it gets the more people try and give it a bad score. One reviewer gave it a 5/10. Yea, you're a smart one.

It's always interesting how people think they are so intelligent when they go against popular opinion.

Saw it this afternoon, *loved* it. Only a handful of people stayed for the scenes during/after the credits

Is it worthwhile to watch the Hulk movie with Ed Norton? Never saw that one (saw all the others though - thor, capt. america, etc) I heard that RDJ has a cameo in that Hulk movie?

I feel Whedon nailed the big set pieces. I was worried this would be filmed tv style or something. I don't have a negative thing to say about the directing, it was badass!

Just got back ... that was so fucking full of win :D

Someone should go back to the original thread where it was announced Whedon would pen and direct this, and get a headcount of the haters. We'd need a conveyor belt and a blast furnace to cook up all the crow.

While filmed first, Hulk is supped to take place after both Iron Man movies, and RDJ shows up in the post credits scene rather than SLJ.

Definitely worth seeing the Edward Norton Hulk. It's one of my favourite Marvel movies.

Just got back - everything GAF hyped it up to be and more.

When Bruce Banner
says: "That's my secret Cap, I'm always angry" proceeds to transform and then BODY THE SHIT out of that flying monster. I wanted to get up and cheer.

Mark Ruffalo was perfect. My new favorite scene in any superhero movie I've seen.

Interesting side note, The Incredible Hulk is 22 on the top rentals list in iTunes, and the only MCU movie in the top 50.

Hulk is back, big time. They better green light another one.

Most entertaining movie so far this year. I don't even know what movie can surpass this entertainment wise. I can only see movies matching it.

wasnt there controversey that he was shooting stuff with an iphone??

The Visual Effects were on point for this movie. Almost feels like Jurrassic Park level.....or maybe im still just too hyped

Hulk is back? He never left. People have always loved the Hulk, they just weren't able to get it right on film.

Whedon just seems to really understand the Hulk, that moment when he
changes for the first time is so tense. I've never felt that in a Hulk film yet.
