couldn't resist the
$249.99
price for:

-Brand new Vita
-Mortal Kombat
-16gb MC

I hope great times are ahead

Oh yes, welcome to the club, all that down time when watching TV and that only is gone, welcome to constant multi-tasking, lol.

Does anyone know when they will be sending LBP Beta codes? Did anyone receive one? If so, please tell us.

I haven't heard anything as of yet, but I definately paid off my pre-order already....

the thing is, i've never played a rayman game before so i really don't know what to expect. i've read reviews & watched gameplay but am still on the fence. the reason i've kept it on the radar is it 'brings out the whole experience of the vita', which is what i'm all about right now.

I had never played a rayman game before either. It's a fantastic game. Probably one of the best on the Vita. I bought it from PSN and I would recommended it in a heart beat.

Why the fuck is Soul Caliber on psp still $40!?!?!?

Doubt anyone at bamco even remember that game was put up on psn.

Tekken is $40 too!! Wtf is wrong with them?

Namco doesn't change their price once they put in on PSN It sells or not they don't care and that applies to all their dlc

I bet the price of tekken 5 is still the same thing as 4 years ago

i don't recall a Namco game that had a price drop on the PSN ever

Isn't that the truth, I've watched half of the first season of Deep Space Nine just trying to get the Lucky Spin trophy in Plants vs Zombies, lol.

Kinda out of the loop with Ragnarok Odyssey, but is it related in any way to the MMO Ragnarok Online? I used to play the crap out of that when I was in college.

What else is left in May other than Resistance?

I'm personally really looking forward to Retro City Rampage, it looks awesome, and filled with all kinds of nostalgic references.

It does, but it's not exactly the same kind of game in this. Odyssey is more in line with an action heavy monster hunter style of gameplay.

Good video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHVzyONO5KU he gets into the game at about the 2:30 mark.

I'm dying to play a MGS and the wait for the HD Collection is killing me so I'm thinking about downloading Peace Walker. Will playing it before 2 and 3 ruin anything for me story wise?
Probably soundly beaten, but just in case, DO NOT play Peace Walker before you play MGS3.

Is that screen protector that covers the whole face of the vita on Amazon US?I don't remember the brand. And is it easy to apply? I've never had good luck with applying those things, but I would really like one on my Vita. Also, whats the best way to get all of the smudges off of the Vita? Its easy for me to do with all of my devices with glass screens, but it feels like it's impossible on this thing. I use microfiber cloths (I've tried a few different ones).

Bummer, I'm really looking forward to a more classic turn-based RPG on VITA.

Any rumors coming from Square, Gust, XSeed, or Atlus on any new turn-based stuff coming to the VITA (not PSP games or FFX, which probably won't be realease until 2014 the way square has been lately.... DQ8 on VITA?)

Well, I wouldn't say new, but there's always Persona 4: The Golden. It's kind of the reason why I bought a Vita in the first place. :D -ish

Does Retro City Rampage have an official release date?
I looked on Wiki, and all it said was 2012.
I'm really excited for it.

The brand is Hori. I'm sure someone will link it, but there's a good application tutorial on Youtube. It involves using shower steam to settle dust.

Yeah warranty covered it but instead of replacing it they refunded me the money, so I don't know if I should get a new Vita now or wait.

I would look for a bundle. I'm sure some retailer has a decent promotion going on. That is, if you liked having a Vita :p

i just applied one this weekend. pretty simple to install, despite its out of the box look. just take your time when applying, much like anything else

If anyone has a link that would be great, I did a quick search but didn't see anything using shower steam, and that would be pretty useful for me due to how dusty this house is in general.

True, I've never got into any of the Persona games before, P4 will probably be the first, since I've heard nothing but good things about the series..

I'm hoping to get a Dragon Quest or Grandia style game outta Squenix.

I want a PSP shmup: I will buy Strikers 1945 Plus (it's only 4.99) but how about Cho Aniki Zero, Gradius Collection and Neo Geo Heroes? And the PC Engine games (they do work, right)?

First things first, just avoid Strikers 1945 Plus. It is a butchered port. Get it only if you finished every other shmup on the system and you are morbidly curious. Absolutely no options, can't change difficulty, they give you 2 lives, hitbox is screwed up, no boss music, etc.

Cho Aniki Zero is cool. It definitely plays like the other games in the series. If you've never played a Cho Aniki game, you are in for a very wacky treat. Difficulty is a bit uneven, play as the dude to get used to it first.

Gradius Collection is highly recommended. 5 games in one and the emulation is really good.

Neo Geo Heroes is really fun, but I only really enjoy if I play it in TATE. I haven't tried playing this way on the Vita yet but I have been meaning to. It was ok like this on PSP, and Vita is shaped similarly so it should be fine.

I really enjoyed the Asphalt demo.

Am I crazy or is anyone enjoying the full version?

Well, considering it's the only real car racing game on the Vita, that makes sense. Beats the hell out of Ridge Racer. I have the full version of Asphalt on my Android phone, and it's pretty fun.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories is coming sometime in October, Konami tells me.

Game still exists!

I thought whoever said they were making the game finished making it months ago. Wonder whats going on here :/

From looking and hearing about it, im guessing they realised that they are gonna need another 5 months to polish this turd.

I think it's ingenious marketing. They just keep delaying and delaying until Book of Memories is just that -- a memory. Then BOOM! They release it and it gets a 1.8 overall score on IGN.

I'm surprised I haven't seen this posted before (it probably has, but I haven't seen it), but Uncharted aiming controls are broken. It's one of the few reasons I still haven't completed it to the end.
Moving the right analogue stick slowly towards a direction will (as intended) move the reticle faster and faster until you reach the max speed, which is the edge of the analogue stick. Now this is fine, however, if you want to do the opposite - move from max speed to stationary gradually then it's impossible. The controls are 'stuck' at max speed unless you let go of the sticks. This makes fine tuning your aim even more difficult. It's a damn good job I can use the gyro to adjust the aim slightly.
Hope this makes sense. Has there been any mention of this anywhere?

EDIT: I applied a patch today and it seems to have been fixed! Sweet!

Other than that, another gripe would, of course, be lack of PS1 games and lack of certain PSP games - I want to play Phantasy Star Portable 2 again! :/. It's even more annoying, since those with PS3's can play on their Vita but I can't.

Question about Unit 13. Is it good and what's the size of the game?

It's great IMO. It took me a while to finish all the missions and I'm not even done with the HVTs yet. And there's still co-op. There's a lot of content.

I've made note of this since it's came out along with some other posters. I was really hoping it would be fixed by now but it seems like Bend doesn't care or doesn't realize it. Either way, it makes it hard to enjoy the gunplay in this one.

Thanks! Well, too bad about the Strikers port but for a fiver I shouldn't expect a lot. I played the Cho Aniki PS1 import on PSN but I didn't like too much. I really am interested in NG Heroes, but the backslash in the KOF SkyStage topic made me somewhat weary.

Portables are made for shmups, so I am really surprised that isn't more games like that for the PSP. Hell, my iPhone is a portable Cave player.

I definitely agree on Uncharted, fine tuning for aiming is near impossible.

And only if you are in the UK (I think) can you transfer PSP2 via ps3 to the vita, I'm in the US and I know for sure that I can't. Which makes me cry. Cryyyy

Yeah, I heard that some Europeans have got it to work. Might have to force my colleague into letting me download and transfer one day.

Also wanted to mention that I've had a lot of fun with the free Frobisher Says game. It's a total WarioWare rip-off, but the creepy humour that's used is great. It's also good to show friends about how the system works and what features it has.

Fine tuning for aiming in Uncharted was pretty easy when using gyro aiming to supplement the analog controls. Analog on its own wasn't really that effective though.
Exactly. Also, I found sniping really fun and easy using just gyro and back pads. Really well done.

I'm actually really excited and nervous at the same time about Sony's E3 conference. I need some Vita games announced but I'm worried they won't deliver :/. It honestly feels like they've given up with the lack of proper PSP and PS1 support. Prove me wrong, Sony!
