Right. So shouldn't that mean it starts at 9AM and airs at 9AM on the West coast?

Anyone watching that "Doomed!" topic in Gaming?
(it feels weird saying that. Like we're sitting here in the balcony critiquing the little people..)

I'd fought the huge urge to respond, but will say this: I hope that some of those folks are around here for later in the decade. :)

Your DVR might be wrong then.
Because Spike and MTV2 are the only channels you can watch Nintendo's conference on, and they will be live.

MTV2 isn't showing anything here. And that's actually from TVGuide. I went to check to see if it reported the same programming there. DVR says the same thing.

I've typed a response, only to hit the 'Back' button. I don't think I'm going back. But I have taken note the ease and safety with which people are openly hoping that Nintendo exits the console market. Very interesting.

And regarding traffic here.. I'm wondering if this is going to be the kind of topic that's a bit slow during the day but a bit more lively at night. Either that, or this here is the new normal. :/

thanks for that release, Ace. Glad to see that it will be commercial free. I seem to remember another event shown on TV being interrupted, and people here at GAF being incredibly angry about the whole affair.

I wanted to go in that thread and bait people about Nintendo's VC in the Future

imagine downloading Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us on Nintendo VC 20 years from now...
No body would have guessed Sonic 1 on Nintendo Wii back when Genesis was all the rage.
People keep talking Nintendo 3rd Party but forget that they been fighting to stay above that for a very long time

The launch of the WiiU and then the new consoles beating it on tech level will only increase these doomed threads though no need for me to posts too much and feed into it

kinda tempted to call my cable company to come and put in a box so I can watch this on my 50" plasma its old and 720p I don't even use it for anything

it would be nice to see my first WiiU stuff on it

Oh, I imagine it. I wouldn't mind trying God of War or Uncharted on the Nintendo VC. But I know to not taunt people around here with comments like that, since people can be tender about that kind of thing.
If we come to that bridge in this or the next decade, then I'll more freely discuss crossing it. :)

There was an article a few months ago about how Nintendo would have to lose $275 million or so per quarter for the next few decades before they'd eat through just their cash reserves - and that's without touching their tangible assets or auctioning any of their IPs. Any discussion of Nintendo going under around here is something I file under troll bait. They want us to lose our cool, and I don't want to see any of us 'round here give it to 'em. This will be something I'll be reminding myself through the next few weeks.

Most played franchise..? Would have to be Guitar Hero on the Wii followed by Fallout 3 GOTY Edition on the PS3. Thanks to the wonders of Homebrew goodness I have Guitar Hero I, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Rock The Eighties and numerous customised versions with a wide variety of songs on them. Unfortunately they all have the boss battles from Guitar Hero III but that's no biggie imo. Such a shame that Activision milked the franchise to death, what a waste.

I really don't understand why they didn't port the first 3 games to the Wii given how well the franchise sold for the platform.

One of the very few multiplatform titles that was a better experience on the Wii, having the guitar rumble whilst using Star Power and having bum notes coming from the remote speaker made a huge difference compared to the other platforms.

Well they made 3 games with little innovation between. Rock band on the other hand... *insert biased opinion here*
