I'm probably the latest person here to read it, but I just finished Danger Girl. I don't like the various spin-offs much, but the sketchbook of Campbell was a nice surprise.

Shame the series never really took off after the first 7 chapters, however.

it took around four years or Campbell to complete maybe 10 issues of Gen13. i wasnt willing to jump in to Danger Girl at that point.

True, but he has been doing little else since. Okay, his Spiderman run flopped, and he created a few covers here and there, calendars and artbooks.

So let me get this straight. You're watching a porno at home... Batman and Wonder Woman are banging each other... maybe followed by a Superman/Lois Lane scene... then all of a sudden hardcore gay sex on your computer screen?

That's hilarious if true.

which two superheroes?

If the article is to be believed, then Green Lantern and Nightwing.

I've seen a couple of the Axel Braun parodies, and they were surprisingly funny at times... but I'd be reaching for the 'skip scene' button on my remote at speeds to make Flash jealous if they're going to start putting gay porn in the middle of straight porn. Congrats if you swing that way, but I sure as hell don't, so don't expect me to just sit there and watch two dudes examine each others' prostates. And I can't imagine the people who actually pay for straight porn thinking of a gay scene jammed in there as anything but a deterrent.

I was meaning to check out the Luna Brothers' "Girls" series and since i'm all comixology-on-my-new-android-touchpad bingey, the first issue was free so i read it.

I thought it would be weirder/more interesting, but it IS just the first issue and it does feel like it's building up a little. I want to read more and will probably cave and get the Complete TPB collection. I regret not getting the Absolute sized hc when it was reasonably priced awhile ago.

Check out the first issue on comixology for free and report your findings. Also, the FCBD Serenity dark horse short story was fun, i'd buy an ongoing with that creative team set after the Serenity movie. Star Wars flip side story was okay, both were a little too simple for their own good but Serenity pulled it off better with a little funnier dialog. The Archaia FCBD hardcover's Labyrinth story was the real highlight, had a really nice concept for such few pages.

So far so good. The world building is fun, and the characters are shaping up.

Some of the overt swearing is a bit jarring, but nothing tht ruins it for me.

I'm enjoying it but I know some people think it is meh. It's only on #3 so hard to tell yet.

As was mentioned the worldbuilding is fun. But, and maybe this is just me, all the characters just seem to have so much goddamn attitude. Everyone comes off as Yorick.

Thanks I'll buy the first issue on Comixology and if I enjoy it I'll get the next two.

Any recommendations on a comic book subscription service? I know Marvel and DC has a service, but I wonder if there are any better ones outside of those?

we used to put all that info in the OP...

I use HeavyInk but some comic readers and writers ask that you not sub with them. i think one ofthe others is Things From Another Universe (TFAW).

At the rick of sounding obvious, why not track down the first few issues? Seems an odd choice to jump onto a new book without reading the setup, especially when there's not too much you need to pick up. Digital is your friend. Or just wait for the trade.

God. Fucking. Damn.

You are hereby required BY FUCKING LAW to read Wonder Woman #10. It's definitive proof that Azz fucking GETS IT. It's motherfucking quintessential Wonder Woman stuff. It's goddamn beautiful.

Where'd you get STARLabs from?
They sent the clone somewhere that much I'm sure ^_^;;;;;;;
First issue of vol 1 was free, really liked it. Only read two other random issues before, one being last years FCBD and that dinosaur was amazing. I am debating between digital sale, buying used trades when i find them, and waiting for an OHC. Digital seems like the best bet, then OHC since i don't know if that will even get made, then used trades since i would feel slightly bad buying this used when it's special.

ended up buying them through dcbs' comixology link to try to get 5% back on my next dcbs order. first time trying this, apparently there is a day delay between when you can link the purchase.....we'll see!

I personally would get both digital and book form lol, but that's just me.

Oh yeah, the clone probably went there sure. But Doctor Hurt / The Black Glove / Thomas Wayne from the 1700s was buried by Joker, and he's the one you have to worry about. But really, the complexity of all this shows exactly why they'd never use it as the resolution to Snyder's arc.

I don't like Azz books in monthly form. His writing style seems better suited to trade reading, so I stopped reading my WW issues last month. Waiting possibly for his run to end then will read the whole thing in one sitting.

But you are making it difficult now.

i got caught up on Aquaman, issues #7-9, fairly good work by Johns. I'm a little split on The Others, i'm not sure exactly what Johns plans to do with them, they weren't really built up, but then in this issue i find myself starting to get interested in the P.O.W. guy. I'll continue ordering it.

I was looking through a few android browsers to see what could doe MDCU the best, so far i'm going with Dolphin + full screen mode, only gripe is that it's really slow ( all of them are compared to webos browser), and the forward/back page buttons aren't responsive due to the slowness and are too small. Webos is definitely better for MDCU so far.

Avengers vs X-Men #6 was surprisingly good, probably the best one yet but that's not exactly heaping praise on it.

New issue of Dark Avengers was pretty pointless. It didn't concentrate on the new Dark Avengers at all, but instead the old Thunderbolts who are stuck travelling in time or some shit.
They also found Dr Doom who makes his way back to the present
.It felt like a .1 issue or something, and a bit of a kick in the balls after last issue.

Alright brahs I'm gonna get 100 Bullets next check. Any good suspense comics?
Criminal also fits that bill. Interested in reading some 100 Bullets impressions. I loved the first few issues, but once the actual plot started kicking in, it completely lost me.

It veers much more toward plot as it goes and it is very baroque. It takes some work to parse out, but it is perfectly executed as far as set up and result at the end of the final issue.

Avengers Academy 32 is so freaking good. If crossovers happen, im totally ok with it if it gives me issues like that

Uncanny X-Men #14 is REALLY good. Dustin Weaver is the shit, but Gillen's storytelling chops are just incredible right now. It tells its own story thematically linked to the ideas currently brewing in AvX, it builds on his own run before AvX, and if you know anything about X-men Inferno you'll get a real kick out of the ending.

Highly recommended.

Man, Cullen Bunn can be a really good Wolverine writer if Marvel lets him. Why are they interrupting his run with whatever shit Loeb throws at us?

That whole Romulus conspiracy is God damn awful.

I'll love Cullen forever just because he came up with a clever way to neglect
Marvel's stupid idea of giving Wolverine back his past after House of M.

What did they accomplish by making Logan remember his past? Daniel Way Origin series was horrible. Giving us specific insights on small moments of Logan's life prior to Weapon X was an amazing way of developing his character. I'm not against Logan's origins as James Howlett, and even that happened before the whole House of M shit.

Continuity wise giving him his memories has had little to no impact in the character. He's still the same as he ever was. Even that stupid Daken could have been introduced without it. Overall he just lost some of the mysterious man/man with no past appeal he had.

This week issue was brilliant, and actually even better than some of the late stuff Aaron wrote.

to the ground. To the ground, baby.

Surprisingly good? If the rest of the issues are like this, AvX would be a good crossover that will be remembered fondly

I agree, most Marvel events have not been really good, but have set up some nice stories and interesting status quo on the Marvel Universe.

AvX was kinda bland until now with all the lame fighting and no story development. This week issue was really, really good.

I'm extremely curious how this event will end and it's effects on the Marvel U.

I might pick it back up then and see if reading it through in one go makes the plot make more sense to me. I think I stopped around the sixth trade because I ultimately just forgot who all the characters were.

Loved it. It's a shame that Gillen's run is probably ending after AVX - Iron Man just isn't quite as interesting to me.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
back from my ban!

uncanny x-force
: most worthwhile x-book in ages. and with mckone gone and noto on board we have some great art to match how good the writing is.

american vampire: lord of nightmares: loving it, and if it's even half as good as the first mini it'll knock it out of the park. the reveal at the end was oh shit!

batman: solidifies my feelings that this book is just standard super hero stuff and not as good as snyder's DC run. oh well, it's still a pretty fun ride.

can't wait to read: chew & saga!
