Also important for DLC.
DLC is a whole different beast. Some are indeed region-locked and it also has something to do with what region your PSN account is.

I can buy and play things from say the US store. However the DLC needs to match the version of your game. As such it is more 'game region locked' then straight 'region locked' I suppose.
Yep that's true but it is also account based. From the Uncharted 3 steelbook edition for example, there were free multiplayer perks for download. The game was region 3 and so were the codes. My main PSN account however is the US one. The perks will only work for the Asian account.
Good thing online passes work for all accounts on the console, regardless of region.
This is nonsense. This game should be boycotted on principle, so that it doesn't set a dangerous precedent.
Because there is no such ruling. It is 100% legal to sell region locked things in Australia. You also do not have to provide a method to unlock them. However if people find a way, then you can't do anything about it.

This is all on Atlus. Sony gives a choice to publishers. First region locked ps3 game! How lame.
That was Bethesda, this is Atlus. The former makes games that sell millions, the latter aspires to thousands. AGAIN: Atlus has no influence.

Man, what is Zen United even thinking? Looks like Atlus hands are tied on this. Real shame too.Nah blame the European publishers. I doubt there is anything Atlus can do.
Having said that, no way this is actually true so I wouldn't freak out too much.

Yeah, Zen (the publisher) must be breaking Atlus' balls over this, right? Perhaps they published some Atlus titles in PAL regions before
They didn't, the only reason why Zen is publishing this in Europe is because is an ASW game, I bet they will not touch P4G, the publisher will be Ghostlight probably.
They published the other ARCs games like blazblue in PAL? Were they much later than US releases?
Look at it this way. Blazblue ended up being released in Australia, about a week before Blazblue Continuum shift was released.
Was a bit of a disaster. This is where it would probably be coming from.
Atlus publishes Arcsys games in the US
Wow that's stupid. I can't think of any other PS3 games that are region locked.
I don't understand why people would be so upset over this to not buy a game they were eagerly anticipating otherwise. What's the big deal? You have to wait an extra month to play it?

If it's just from some mod on a forum, regardless if it's the Atlus board, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Ghostlight have been all but dead for a few years now. Koei published P3/FES and Square Enix published P4 and Odin Sphere. They didn't, the only reason why Zen is publishing this in Europe is because is an ASW game, I bet they will not touch P4G, the publisher will be Ghostlight probably.

P3P is published by Ghostlight and it's a more recent title than FES and P4.Ghostlight have been all but dead for a few years now. Koei published P3/FES and Square Enix published P4 and Odin Sphere.
The game itself, it seems.
To people who seem to think Region-locking on PS3 doesn't happen/isn't possible, I just looked at all the PS3 games I currently own (about two dozen). They all have a 1 on the box (they work in ONE REGION. America) except Uncharted 3 which is labeled "ALL".
Region-locking happens. A LOT.
I don't think you get how it works. Can you prove that or is it just based on what you've seen online? Seriously, not to be an asshole, but I doubt all these publishers are just lying on all these boxes.
I wouldn't support any game that was the first to region lock on the PS3. x: As someone who imports some of their games I don't want this to be the start of something that would effect me badly.
I don't think you get how it works.
The region number on the box tells you what region the version of the game you're buying is for.
For eg: region 1: usa ntsc
Region 3: ntsc hk/singapore/etc
Region 2: uk/uae/india pal
Region 1 games obviously have single language support (eng) while the eu region 2 games have language selection at the beginning.
But all these games can be played on the same ps3, no matter what the region. I own region 1 valkyria chronicles, lbp1, blazbblue ct, I own region 3 dead space, but I own region 2 of all my 50 other games
Also, if you have a region 3 copy of a game, region 1 dlc (us psn) usually works on it
if the PS3 version ends up region locked you can bet the 360 version will be tooi did my part cuz i have the 360 ver preordered.
