The first one is rather outdated, but Metal Gear 2 is still phenomenal. In fact, playing it made me dislike Metal Gear Solid a lot, because that game simply takes ideas from MG2 and puts a 3D perspective on them, seeming a little lazy to me.

Yeah, MGS was basically a remake of MG2. Thats why I think MG1 and 2 might need to be combined into one game(?) or else they'll have to change a lot on MG2 to distance it from MGS.

i imagined a super epic cqc battle in the middle of a open minefield, with explosions and shit going on in the background.

I wouldn't worry too much about that, they probably wanted to test or show us something. Kojima productions has some of the best artists in the industry.

I kind of agree. I got really excited when I saw that pick of the dude in the bandana creeping next to the tank, because it looks like MGS. But look at the tires on that vehicle, they look pretty bad. So does the guys hair/head/bandana (I'm sure there's stuff others could point out. Those are just the things that bother me, and I'm not really usually someone who harps on graphics. This would be disappointing though.)

Is it really? If it is, I guess you can ignore me. I do think the actual Fox Engine screen in the jungle looks pretty good, I was only referring to the tank pic.

Trophies aren't the only surprise feature Konami is readying for Metal Gear Solid 4. The game's new PS3 the Best budget version will also feature support for full data install. This means that rather than having the game install data at the start of each chapter, which is how the game currently works, you can opt to have the game do a full install at the start of play, and have no more installations for the rest of the game.

That's not surprising, it's 'open world', or more likely seamlessly hub based, and it's coming to Vita. It's not like it's going go have a huge visual upgrade from 4.

Project Ogre, Kojima's new IP, should be first in the pipeline.
Unless Kojima trolled us, Ogre started like an original game just in his mind, but for everyone else it was just an other Metal Gear game
