Wow, after the 100m final Bolt was being interviewed by a spanish medium when the USA hymn began to sound in the background (because the 400m medal ceremony), he stoped the interview and listened to it in silence. When it ended, he continued with the interview. Classy.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I keep giggling like a school girl everything I see this thread title cause OT3 in fandom means One True Threesome. I am 12. Sorry for the off topic post.

Yay Olympics! * o/*

I thougt it meant Operating Thetan Level 3: The Wall of Fire. May lead to pneumonia.

Wow, congrats. Atmosphere must be crazy
While everyone was hyped about the 100m final - obviously - possibly the most exciting moment of the night - and the one that I think got the biggest roar - was watching the scoreboard after that Women's 400m final. The sheer - and sudden - *volume* when #2 was revealed was *phenomenal*.

Lol at the iPads for cameras in the crowds. Wouldn't want to be sitting behind them
I was actually near one - not right behind, but close - and it wasn't really a problem. The seats were tiered highly enough that the person in front was never a problem.

Despite what the NZ commentators have said, our women have qualified for the semifinals of the hockey tournament, which is more than most people expected! Unfortunately we can't finish first in the group, so it's likely we will play the Netherlands next.

Polands volleyball coach going the players a kick up the arse. Not physically of course, but he doesn't sound happy.

That's gotta suck for the female hurdler that was disqualified for a false start.. She traveled all that way and got disqualified instantly...

Surprised that Ennis didn't want to try out for the 100m hurdles considering how well she went in the Heptathlon. Although if she just wants to chill with her Gold Medal, I can't really blame her.

Another disappointment by our (German) athletes at the Olympics ? Consider me shocked. I'm just guessing that we didn't win against NZ and are thus out of the tournament, right ?

Well, they still put up a good show I guess, I can't be angry at them.

Yeah, it was a 0-0 draw. If it makes you feel better, Germany were the much better side and had a couple of contentious decisions go against them... I'm still not hopeful that we'll medal based on that performance.

If I paid money to be in the stadium to see her compete, I'd of felt cheated.

I'm in love with several of the NZ women's hockey team after watching their match against Australia.

Where is that sexy Australian Hurdler?

She didn't qualify for the Olympics (I'm assuming you don't mean Sally Pearson, who has pace but isn't that sexy).

australia hands Russia its first loss with a game winning three. damn.

Hah - they didn't show the end of the game here. They pretty much led the whole game. They're very hot and cold, but seem to be hitting some kind of form, which is good.

Amazing how 10,000 spectators suddenly go super quiet for the race, one person could have made noise but nope, silence.

80,000, but there were a few yells. Some wag hollered "COME ON, LINFORD". Guess it didn't come through on telly.

There's a video they played at the start with a bunch of british celebs basically going "shush". I think I saw Gary Barlow and Simon Pegg among them, but it's so brief for each I can't be sure.

Ennis still has the fastest time in the 100m hurdles this olympics after the qualifying heats. It's a shame she's too knackered to run it again.

Shes also supposed to be running 800m hurdles - I hope she doesn't bail on that we need all the gold we can get.

She's highly unlikely to even win a medal in the individual events though, especially if she's knackered after the heptathlon and all the pressure placed on her. 1 gold is amazing, she shouldn't feel pressured into trying in vain for more.

(Women's Shot Put)

No-throw for Val first up, while Ostapchuk threw a 20.76, which would have been good enough for gold in Beijing. Whaaaaaat.

Horrors of Horrors!!!!

A Brit could lose a cycling final today (Kenny) to, get this, a Frenchman.

What a depressing thought..:((

Almost as bad as losing to an Aussie.
