PAL Charts - Week 30, 2012

Inazuma is sooo strong in Italy
I'm really lookinf forward for the Wii episode, hoping to see soon also the pending ds/3ds episodes..

Hypothetical slightly better sales in UK or other major European markets probably don't offset the sales decline in markets like Spain or Italy where the game was poorly distributed.

The vast majority of its sales come from just 3 markets, 200.000 units is still an ambitious though achievable goal for this chapter, a higher figure is unrealistic.

Mario Kart, Mario Land and Mario&Sonic still rising... XL effect?
Nice to see KH3D not disappearing from the chart, I'm quite surprised.

In the Value chart, there are two other 3DS games which probably aren't that far from the Individual Classic Top 40: Lego Batman 2 and Mario Tennis Open. Nothing for Vita.

Wasn't a Moshi Monsters due out on 3DS in a few weeks or so?
Because that could be the hit Nintendo needs, lol

It's on DS too. If Activision promotes more the 3DS version ( I mean, putting 3DS SKUs of the game as the main one, showing 3DS cover more), there's a possibility for it doing good things for 3DS too ( not big things, still...but that's why NSMB2 is gonna be here :P )

France loves RPGs.
Two years ago DQIX stayed at number 1 for 5 weeks or so.

With the New Mario Bros 2 coming to the charts in about 3 weeks from now, we might see the top 3-5 being all 3DS from week to week. Its surprising how Mario Kart and Mario Land are still doing so well over there.

Even if hungry, that doesn't mean they buy everything, see Vita.
Indeed, i've told you that before myself in the MC threads :) If there is little selection of games, it doesnt mean that "everyone" goes out and buy something that they dont have much interest in. Maybe little selection of games can make more people take a chance on some games, but i dont think that it has a huge effect on the sales overall. I was only lighthearting joking because you used that reason sometimes when Vita games have sold well.

Strange.

The Amazing Spider-Man (16+) Xbox 360 (55)
PS3 (41)
3DS (2)
DS (1)

Just like in US, 3DS SKU is the best selling TAS SKU for Nintendo platform, while for Lego Batman 2 it's the Wii one. Price ( equal to DS version for Spiderman, 10 Pounds / $ higher for Batman) or what else?
I think it has more to do with the nature of the game. The Amazing Spiderman is a more "serious" game, while the Lego games appeal to more people. Also, there are many other Lego games on the Wii, so people are already familiar with those games.

But Vita doesn't have long sellers; 3DS has them, and they're still selling nicely. Plus, it has some releases lately, such as Mario Tennis, Heroes of Ruin, Theatrhythm.

But those are new buyers. A lot of people bought all those long seller games weeks/months ago. Yep, even Vita had some recent games in Japan when you used that reason for i.e Persona 4 Golden. Anyway, i was mostly joking about it :)

My opinion on the Vita thus far is roughly in line with Sony's; I don't really care.

I am, however, concerned that the 3DS does not seem to be able to get any software outside of Mario to sell on a consistent basis. There are quite a few games out on it now, yet with the XL we just see the same old titles.

I don't think it's necessarily true that Mario, Zelda, etc. are only bought by new buyers. As for Persona 4, sure Vita owners are hungry of games! I think the line-up speaks for itself.

True, but a lot of people have already bought those games, so it still applies =)

But if being hungry for games means increased sales, that is only positive :)

Well at least Kingdom Hearts is hanging in there for now, it didn't drop off like Resident Evil and Kid Icarus did. Just have to wait for Professor Layton to come on in.

The fact is that "hungry of games" is hard to be applied for KH3D when it last months many games were released, and the line-up is overall quite rich for being a one year and a half platform.

But those games didnt chart very well. Same with Vita, it got several of releases from launch to Persona 4 Golden, and most of those games didnt chart very well either. If it can be said about Persona 4 Golden, i think it can be said about 3DS games too :) But again, i was mostly joking.

Is there a new thread? Google wasn't helping me find it.
