I started a new game and while I love this game I'm not sure if I have the heart to do it. Chicken emblem seems more frustrating and daunting the BBE. I've done BBE, it's simple because you KNOW if you're not getting it...

I wish you could track your stats in this game =/
You kind of can. Your stats scroll by during the Missions Briefings, which you can watch at any time from the Main Menu.

You sorta can, after each act, when you're in the airplane, various stats are scroll across the screen.,

Kinda lame trophies IMO, my brother got the highest rank (hardest difficulty, under 5 hours, zero alerts, zero kills, buncha other crap, needless to say its freaking hard) in the game before, and was looking forward to doing it again with a trophy to prove it.
But nope, you don't even get a trophy for playing it on the hardest difficulty.

Don't you need to be on the hardest lvl to get BBE?
If he gets that Ipod Song trophy (and the plat) then everybody will know he had to play on the hardest etc...

I agree with this. Even though you need the BBE to get the iPod trophy you also need the B&B dolls to get the Solar Gun and all of the weapons (each separate trophies). If you're gonna make trophies overlap why not have one for the highest single achievement in the game?

Just a really minor issue though but I otherwise love that KP still cares enough to deliver this to the fans 4 years later and for free to boot! Given the excitement you see all over the internet they could probably have made a little more cash by making us pay for it.

Get praised by militia fighters at least 25 times.
Additional Reward: Nothing

This means to have the militants say things like "You saved my ass," "Good
job," etc. To do so, just stay next to a militant in the Confinement Facility
area where the PMC troops come out continuously and just keep blasting the
PMCs. You can also do this in the Power Station or Vista Mansion area.

Might be easier to do than Act 1's Militia safehouse one because I'm not getting praised at all killing the 4-5 respawing enemies standing side-by-side with the Militia people. :/

Im just gonna leave the system on for a day and a half, can't imagine actually playing MGS4 for over 35 hours despite being a huge fan of the franchise, and also I don't want to you know, end up dead.

If I get some statues the first time around, I don't have to redo the non-lethal battles the second time around for the ones I already have, right?

just started playing again and i'm impressed on how good the graphics hold up. also the transition between cutscenes and gameplay is amazing: cutscene, the camera just zooms out, bam, you can control snake,no stupid blackscreen to switch between cutscene and gameplay mode

i made this (spoiler! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgJOUjAEa2U) 4 years ago,now i can finally record it in hd

Pretty sure you do. It's not hard, though. The only time you have to use non-lethal ammo is when the BB Corps are in their human form and doing the creepy walk towards you. You can use whatever gun you want when they're in their armor. The only time you're completely limited to non-lethal ammo is the Frog battle in Act 1 after you meet Rat Patrol.

They're well done, but I had to laugh at the moment where you first gain control. You're all hyped to start playing, you crawl under the truck... and there's a cutscene. You literally get five seconds of control to kick off the game. Who thought that was a good idea?

Its a sign if things to come. The game itself has plenty of content, certainly it's way bigger and longer than MGS1 and 2 and doesn't have any less gameplay than its current gen 3rd person action peers (and has more replay value). But the ridiculous amount and length of the cutscenes really grates on me and makes the game feel much lighter on interactivity than it is. It's almost as bad for that as MGS2. Unbelievably poorly paced games. But still awesome.

I have that in already under Act 2 (quite a few times I've stated multiple locations to get emblems) but I must admit that I do prefer to have it in Act 1, solely because it gets it out of the way quickly and reduces the tasks that must but done. The militia have to see the kills to compliment you so you still need to be beside them. If you're not getting them, you can move on. Downtown may prove a good area for this too.

Playing this game again reminds me of just how incredible it looks like it'll be from the start. It drops of a cliff into utter shitdom just after the first boss, but until then, it is completely stunning.

I just... didn't remember the acting to be so...so.... japanese live action show.

jesus christ, replaying it is destroying the good memories i had of it.

How long does it take to make you throw up from killing people at the house in act 2? I've done it before in act 1 just before meeting up with Meryl and I swear it didn't take as long as I've been doing this now.

Eunao has stated that it is 50 kills for one flashback. I had thought it was one hundred but I cannot be sure of the precise number. Regardless, you need a lot and it takes a while. The turret is very useful though solely because you don't lose much ammo and you should be able to kill the soldier below you constantly before the Militia take over.

I dont get it....before the patch I played MGS4 and finished it. I played the whole game on a non lethal way.
After a couple of Acts I got always 5 killes..........! :( Example:
Motorchase....
I used only my treq. gun but I got 5 kills. How is this possible?

Thanx

So Militia kills don't count?

Oh, sorry, my mistake, I misinterpretted where you were. Yes, Militia should indeed count as well.

The first thing that I can think of is that perhaps you killed the Beauties? Also, if you killed the Jetpackers in Act 2 they count as kills. You may also have killed Frog soldiers during the Screaming Mantis boss fight.

I must be doing something wrong then, there is no way I haven't killed more then a hundred people with this turret.

EDIT: Looks like I just had to dismount to activate it.

Good to hear that it has worked. That's probably my favourite area in the game to farm kills. I really suggest that if you are going for any high kill emblem that you use the turret to wrap up the remaining kills. Would you mind letting me know if kills from the turret give you an Alert? I don't remember it doing so but I'd like to be certain. Thanks.

Hmm, very odd. Just to clarify,
the Jetpackers are on the power suit in Act 2. Drebin advises destroying the Power Suits in Act 2 in order to advance using the turret
You cannot blow them up however (they look like robots too so it's very easy to get mistaken and destroy them with the turret). Do you have any idea when you got the kills (by looking at the mission briefings and checking your stats at that location in the game? I'll try looking back but the Power Suit enemies in Act 2 (of which I believe there is five) are the easiest things to mistake as robots when they're actually enemies.

No alerts, no. Nor from the grenade launcher on the roof.

What do you mean by ''before the fight with the beauties'' ? The fight start immediatly after you defeat the the beast!?

Thank you. And I have to stun the Beast AND Beauty, or just the Beauty? I think the Beauty is just for the faceCamo, right?

I didn't write that, but I can't even see the phrase you're referring to. If you mean the first beauty, you have to get the doll from the bed while she's zomibing after you I think.

You have to stun the BEAST. Then the figurines will appear. And you have to collect (almost *) all of them during the BEAUTY "fight".

For BBE, you can kill BEAST form, because those don't count as kill. For the figurine, you have to stun them (takes longer).

(*) i think you can get the wolf one even after the fight. I'm not sure. Ending all the other beauty fights will warp you out of the level, that's why you can't get them later.

No..I played act 2 with my treq. gun. I only shot the Ghekkos with the gun. When I got to the
motorchase
I used on everything my treq. gun but at the end I had 5 kills. Its strange, I will try to pay attention when I play it for the trophies.

I know it sounds ridiculous that I'm still asking you this (and please don't take it the wrong way either) but these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=36ZO4MWVpno#t=89s are the enemies (at 89 seconds exactly so please pause it at this time). If you still are 100% sure you never killed them I am pretty much lost as to where you could have gotten the kills. Is it possible that you accidentally used a lethal weapon at any point in the game (or you choked an enemy to death) and then realised your mistake so you died and pressed continue?

I wish I could agree. But from the first boss on, you get
horrible footstep hunting, horrible turret stuff, horrible whistler stalking, horrible bike sequence, horrible second boss fight, horrible robot enemies, a good third boss, a weak boss fight, horrible mech fights, a good five minutes on a boat, another crap boss, a cool final fight.

Up to and including the first boss, it looked like it was going to be the 'game of the forever' I'd be hoping for in eager anticipation since that first trailer, but for me, it goes from incredible, to pretty damn bad right after that first boss. Which ironically, I literally just beat.

Damn! Forgot to go and pose with the statue for the trophy. So I had to track back through a battlefield to go and do it.

I love how they pretty much call Snake a dumbass even though he can hear them.

The best is probably Sigint's convo where he recalls dreaming about killer shit. Or the naked camo. Or the cardboard box one.

The best thing about sigint is, well, Metal Gear Sigint.

"and there'll be one more person on your team. His name is Mr. Sigint"

Kojima sure knows how to make a game as detailed as one can be.
