If this guy isn't the vilain in S3 , then something will be clearly wrong with the writters .. The vacant post is ready for him ..especially with his puzzle making skills*. Heck it was a totally possible and believable final vilain for season 2 too

Well what a wild ride Those 50 eps were !
Season 2 was better than the first , because the cast was more focused on things that matters ( puzzles & puzzle stuff ) .

Freecell was great as a final antagonist too .. the tag puzzle was well done and fitted with the theme present in the 2nd opening quite well too.. it's a shame rook didn't have a more active role this time.

minerva was totally underused, same with melancholy ..in that sense they tottaly missed the duel they had promised in the 2nd opening ..even if it DID happen Once , Once is not enough....

Nonoha was finally great as a all rounder supportive character .For someone with no puzzle skills at all she did avance the story quite a bit even when sometimes it was forced by the writters too . In the end she was an enjoyable character , second to anna who also helped when needed (meaning : "fuwa fuwa wan" ).

It was fun no doubt about it ..the world still need answers on some key plot points ..and i hope they will tackle all of this in season 3 when available.

Give me a dream team ( kaito + rook + freecell + gyamon + anna & nonoha ) and it'll be just awesome

I didn't even make it to Tokyo, so arguably it was ruined before then.
You know, thinking back on it, the show had a great pilot and finale, but everything else was suspect. I mean, they started with the fanservice in the second episode by having that girl jump into the water to rescue the writer, didn't they?

Festivities!

Insight on Reki's past is always a treat. It took a while for the show to share information on
her relationship with Hyohko
and the Abandoned Factory, but the moment was right. Rakka's meeting with the
elder
flowed well with the recent background details given to her.

haibanerenmei2thur6.png

Man, between this and my picture above, there sure are angry snowmen in this area!

The
giving of nuts
was pretty great. Rakka and others remain quiet while showing their appreciation
to humans they've interacted with over the course of the series.
It's brief, but quite touching seeing such a tradition of mutual respect between the two groups done without words.

The Abandoned Factory had their own way of doing things of course,
showing respect to Reki in a more loud, public fashion.
The style really worked with their community on a whole. The direction of the entire episode was simple to give support behind.

I'm looking forward to a satisfying finale to wrap this all up. Reki has received the increased focus that I desired and Rakka has grown determined over the past couple episodes. The limelight is on this special pair and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Additional note: I love the style used for
Reki's painting
in this episode. Yoshitoshi ABe, correct? I really enjoy his art.

Before the anime, they made a drama CD for Joshiraku, one rakugo performance apice from each of the characters, nearly all having different seiyuu. Here is Marii's... voiced by Kana Asumi.

Another one, from Kukuru (who was still Saori Goto on the CD):

Each of the drama CD performances is a parody of a real well-known rakugo piece; Marii's starting similar to, but wildly diverging from, "Time Soba", and Kukuru's a slight variant of "Jugemu" (which is by now probably burned into your mind from the ending song).

Phi Brain 2 ep 25 (end)

I guess Im the last one to watch this? Anyway really fun episode. One thing I love with Phi Brain is they always leave the best visuals for the puzzles, and this one was just like the rest. It was just something with the way they diagrammed it out constantly and the backgrounds chosen either of a cool design or overlayed with the characters on them, then their little cute icons moving.
When they were running through the tunnels that looked so cool, I didnt even realize it until way late that the glass panels on the whole thing were actually screens displaying the colors, nice!
.

It was a perfect ending for me and so many worthwhile Kaito FreeCell moments. Even more post resolution more moments with our Favorite Rook.
Were the animators trying to cater to me with that blushing scene and Kaito receiving the phone call to puzzle time with Rook?! I loved it
.

50+ weeks of puzzle time with Kaito were good, and this is the anime I most cant wait to get from Sentai Filmworks. I hope they durb it and also release on Blu Ray and get Season 3.

I dont think I can choose sides, so I will just say S1 was just as good as S2 to me. But Now or Never > Brain Diver but Hologram is better than the s2 ending theme.

- I can't believe that Parish thread is still going on.

- Hyouka is the best show KyoAni's ever made.

- Hanasaku Iroha is a good show, held back by some weaker episodes but carried by its strong beginning, middle, and conclusion.

That is all.

I agree with this post. Well, except for the first point. I find it very easy to believe that threads like that will last a long time on gaming-side.

Bjergsen is the greatest midlane in the world
... It is? What could people possibly still be discussing in that thread?
It moved on to talking about whatever you want I think. I was thinking about posting some shirtless anime boys in there to lighten the mood.

Tsuritama 7-12 [END]

That was quite a good time. I wasn't big on the character designs initially, but I found myself appreciating the whole package of the characters more so later on. Their personalities and developments grew on me as a viewer at a pace that worked well with the 12 episodes of run time. My investment increased along with the rising events of the story (even before that as
Yuki trains to become a fisherman
. The sense of camaraderie between the four main characters were satisfyingly presented and by the end made for a force estimable with the magnitude of the final obstacle. In short, I'm glad I came back around to watching this.

Glad you enjoyed it! It's definitely one of the best paced and organized 12 episode shows I've ever seen.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled - Chapter 1: The Wyvern Arrives

This movie-OVA series from director Kazuki Akane has been in production for a long, long time, and if there is any part of it where that really shows, it would be in the setting and world building. The show is set between the TV seasons of Code Geass, but far away in Europa, where the Black Rebellion uprising is nothing more than a piece of information whispered by those who care about such underground developments. The main stage of the story is about those displaced by war, with nowhere to truly call home, trapped in a conflict they might care nothing about.

It's a little odd at first to see a Code Geass production taking itself so seriously, especially after two seasons of what the original series degenerated into. Instead of relying on constant plot twists, a high tempo pace, and total insanity, Akito prefers to take its time introducing a smaller cast of core characters, and establishing Europa as a believable setting in the same world, with their own unique problems and hierarchy. The show is also heavily militaristic, and relatively bleak. There are no school life hi-jinx, there is little humor, and it is rather clear that all the characters are living in times where there is little joy or celebration to be had, and everyone feels a little on edge.

I think the best comparison here would be that it feels a lot like the sort of setting Gundam 00 tried to achieve in the first season, but in a more extreme way. Everything is clearly serious business, and the majority of characters on both sides are military personnel or politicians. Much of the dialogue in the first chapter is dedicated to building up the history and current status of the general setting as well as that of the characters.

This all sounds excellent and exactly up my alley. I haven't even seen (much of) the TV series, but I'll be all over this!

You know, thinking back on it, the show had a great pilot and finale, but everything else was suspect. I mean, they started with the fanservice in the second episode by having that girl jump into the water to rescue the writer, didn't they?

You're thinking of the third episode.

I agree with this post. Well, except for the first point. I find it very easy to believe that threads like that will last a long time on gaming-side.

I guess it's not that I can't believe it, rather I'd like to not believe it.

Rinne no largange - END
I totally feel your pain dude ... waiting & schemming for 20,000 years for THIS ??? you bet i'll be angry ...

Overall this was just an "Ok" anime ..the anime got trapped by some themes and just refused to do anything worthwhile with it ..Why make 2 steps forward to make 2 steps backwards the next episode ?

Yurikano overall purpose is meaningless to the me that haven't read the other works related to this universe (yet). She was supposed to be important but did virtually nothing besides her starting introduction..

S1 had tension , a very nice start and character devellopment ... if was incredibly nice to see each characters with her own set of problems and how they acted with it .Lan with her robot + her brother problem. Muginami & vilagulio .. The 3 alien stranded on earth and how the acted upon it ..All of it was very nicely done. While the Second season didn't even half of this , we had a certain setup of ideas that was just underused in the end .

The colision between the 2 planets ? Flower miracle . The manipulating bad guy with his own agenda ? disapointing . Heck flower miracles across the universe could have been a nice way to end the serie IF they showed more of the universe ..i have nothing against kamogawa but damn if it wasn't a wasted effort .
In season 2 , madoka should have went in space to see trully each aspect and problems of each factions .It would have expressed the characters more while giving them an actual background .Instead we got the episode on the space ship was totally disapointing ( even if it was funny ).

I short i feel like they had plenty of ideas but couldn't go full time with it . Kamogawa should have been the place they would return too after they were done , not the splendid place they can't get enough even when they returned to their daily lives.

The second season is IMO a totally wasted opportunity ( especially after the first season ending ) it wasn't bad ...but it certainly wasn't great .

It's bad enough animegaf get alot of flak around here but now parish starts a fire and animegaf is adding fuel to it.

To be honest, I don't care about those kinds of things. I just wonder why people get into forum debates with people who are basically inconvincible. Well, people have their own priorities too, so I can't judge. It's just a shame that there's such a lack of respect towards others as people. Jarmel's twitter cap shows what I mean.

Utakoi 13 END

Well, I guess that wraps up this rather "lighthearted" romance tragedy porn show. I really only recall one of these not having a tragic ending, I think it was the second or third one. Anyways, I'd recommend checking it out if you're looking for something different as it was certainly one of the more interesting shows this season. Plus, the unrequited love and the one hundred poems theme is a perfect fit with a certain Chihayafuru character!!!
taichi :(

also this had the best engrish ED of the season (enjoy the kinda shitty quality)

While you've brought this show up, does what you've seen give any indication of why enough people in Japan are excited over it for the pre-screenings to quickly sell out? Is it just Motohiro and/or Urobuchi's presence? Or the concept?

I think it's a mix of Motohiro's involvement, Seki and Hanazawa's guest appearance, and fucking scalpers.

Nice -- the voice actors in the upcoming Denpa Kyoshi manga TV CM will be Daisuke Ono and Kana Asumi.
Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is revealing this week that Daisuke Ono and Kana Asumi are voicing the anime commercial for Takeshi Azuma's Denpa Kyōshi - He Is [an] Ultimate Teacher manga. Ono will play the male lead Junichirō Kagami, while Asumi will play his sister Suzune. The magazine also reveals that Hirofumi Ogura (Black Butler II, The Knight in the Area) is directing at A-1 Pictures with character designer Tadashi Sakazaki (Zoids/ZERO designer, Black Butler II animation director).

The story centers around Junichirō, a young man obssesed with manga, anime and games. He was a young genius who published papers in the journals Nature and Science when he was only 17. However, after graduating college, he became a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) absorbed in his anime blog. Unable to watch Kagami throw away his life, Suzune gets him to work at the Ichō Academy she attends. The head of the school's board, Koyomi Hiiragi, assigns Kagami to his new life as a teacher.
