Nintendo lists the 23 games launching w/ WiiU on Nov 18 [Post-Launch Day List Added]

Lots of ports/multi, but I think it's a pretty nice launch lineup, and leaves some other good stuff to come out in the launch window.

Nintendo Land pack in, Mario, Sonic racing, ZombiU, and a download of Mighty Switch Force HD. Thats a good enough launch set for me. Tekken Tag later on.

Launch day for sure: NintendoLand (pack-in), NSMB U, Zombi U.
Launch day probable: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
Launch day maybes: Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Scribblenauts Unlimited.
Price drop gets: Assassin's Creed 3, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge.

I'm kind of hoping for a B2G1F on launch day to get TTT2 for free. Plenty of stuff shortly after launch I'm interested in, so I'm getting pretty excited.

For sure:
NSMBU(haven't played on since the version on the original DS and the trailer swayed me)
Nintendoland(comes free with my system and I've heard good things about it)
Zombi U(looks like fun)

Maybe:
AC3(still need to be the last few games in the series first)
Scribblenauts (fun series that may be worth picking up depending on the price)
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed(heard good things about the first game)
Black Ops 2(depends on how much it sells since the community just needs to be active for a year)

this and the eshop games along with VC should last me a long time

The fact that the Wii U is launching with games like Skylanders, Scribblenauts, Just Dance, Fitness, and Black Ops2 could make it a very interesting sell to families around Christmas time.

Getting Nintendoland and NSMBU, will wait for reviews of ZombiU, if its solid that will be my third game.

Not a bad list at all. With Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, and The Wonderful 101 also in the way I feel the Wii U will be getting some nice action since launch.

That said, they now need to secure multiplats such as Tomb Raider, RE6, MGS rising, and Ground Zeroes and we're golden. Of course none of that will happen.

My wallet am cry. Good lord, I have a good bit of interest in:

NintendoLand
NSMBU
Pikmin 3
TW101
CoD
Tekken Tag 2
Scribblenauts
Lego City Stories
AC3
Zombi U
Darksiders 2
Trine 2
Nano Assault

Probably start out with NintendoLand and Zombi U, see what else I can eke out of the family for the holiday. The rest I'll slowly collect next year.

Despite the launch line up being pretty good, the WiiU is still pretty high in price. Only a few people can probably grab all the good games worth buying with the WiiU at launch.

Much better than the Wii's launch, which was basically: Twilight Princess (port), Red Steel (crap), and Rabbids (minigames.) And I was extremely hyped for the Wii's launch, too.

Wow really good lineup.

Something for everybody.

The only thing that is missing is a big Nintendo first part game for the core, but then again, there are few things bigger than 2D mario. ( although I guess if you are a very active gamer you will have played most third party ports)

Not getting a WiiU, but I would consider getting:

New Super Mario Bros. U
Nintendo Land (would probably buy Deluxe)
Assassin's Creed 3 (if not a bad port relative to PC version)
Just Dance 4
Rabbids Land (maybe..., but nintendo land is enough party games)
ZombiU
Scribblenauts Unlimited (if good)
Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition (have not bought it on PC yet, so it would depend on the quality of the port)

The price seems fair...Nintendo cannot do the old $199-$249 anymore. The Premium is a bargain in my opinion. Nintendo Land+Nintendo Network 24 month reward scheme it works out to be nicely priced. There may come a time where Nintendo no longer bundle software with a console...and that will be a sad time.

Its a good launch lineup if you don't own any 7th gen console. Most of these game will be readily available on Ps3/360/PC. Needs more first part titles to sway multi-console owners.

NintendoLand (as the DX pack-in)
ZombiU
Black Ops 2
(Maybe since it is only $40 and provided the frame rate gets fixed up) Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed

That is my day one list, probably gonna pick up NSMBU, NG3:RE, AC3, and Darksiders 2 as soon as I can after launch.

Prove that statement.
Well it depends on how strict you want to get about the definition of "port" but the bolded are all games that are or will be available on other platforms.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2

Skylanders Giants

Transformers Prime

Wipeout 3

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two

EA Sports FIFA Soccer 13

It would be funny if Black Ops 2 ends up being the highest selling game for the Wii U's launch window.

I think it's going to be Tekken Tag 2, NSMBU, and Batman AC for me. Then maybe AC3, NG3, DSII, and ME3 when I'm done with Batman and Mario. And I'll be keeping an eye on Sonic & All-Stars Racing too.

As someone who already owns the current gen systems, the day 1 lineup is pretty weak since I can get the vast majority of the WiiU launch games on other systems. ZombiU is pretty much the only exclusive that interests me.

The launch window, on the other hand, is better. Definitely want to play Wonderful 101.

You left out the best Wii launch title - Trauma Center. Admittedly, it wasn't entirely new, but the Wii version added a lot to an already excellent DS game.

Black Ops 2 is the one game absolutely everyone is saying they'll be getting at launch. This is a bit of a double-edged sword, in my opinion. On the one hand, big numbers will show audience interest in these type of games appearing on Wii U. On the other hand, the (multiplayer) game will be a massive time sink which could negatively impact on sales of other games during the same period.

You listed ubishit and left out the amazing Trauma Center remake and EXCITE TRUCK. You also neglected to mention that the Wii version of Twilight Princess was the only way to play the game for a month when it came out. It was a pretty good launch.

why are people acting like every launch in the last decade or more wasn't stuffed full of ports and multiplatform titles?

how is King Kong with shinier graphics just fine, but Ninja Gaiden 3 with better gameplay or Batman with Wii U pad exclusive controls and features not just fine?

Taken as a whole it's a killer launch day lineup. It's also a lineup littered with games that have already been sitting on store shelves, and considering the system is still two months away those ports are going to look even older.

Falls a bit flat for me, but I can see others being excited.

Can you point out the multitude of posts holding up King Kong as an example? Regardless, I think most people are assuming that "NG3, but this time a good game, trust us" is a pretty weak proposition, as is "the Batman game you already played, but with likely minor extras at a $60 price tag when other versions will likely be less than $30". Doubly so when that includes a $300+ bonus cost of entry charge.

The likely price inflexibility on the launch titles can't be dismissed. Someone looking at Darksiders 2 on WiiU for $60 will be confronted with that same game on PCPS360 almost certainly being $30 or less, possibly significantly less. Even AC3 will likely be discounted to sub-$40 on every platform that isn't WiiU when it releases on WiiU.

That isn't a very good launch lineup at all. I see only two games that could be considered system movers (NSMB and ZombiU) and those are even a stretch. The rest is a bunch of old games hardcore gamers have already played, multiplat games, or cheesy casual games. This lineup and the launch of the Wii U shows just how disorganized and inept Nintendo is right now.

Only interested in ZombiU, Mario and TTT2. It's an alright launch lineup. Would have been better if it weren't filled with ports.

Name me consoles that had more than one or two system mover at launch.

Why do people always act like ports are exclusive To WiiU's launch or something?

NSMB will indeed be a system seller, so it's not that much of a stretch. We won't know how ZombiU will do until after launch.

I guess that the difference is that King Kong was a multiplatform game released on the same date for all platforms if i'm not mistaken. Ninja Gaiden 3 and Batman Arkham City are games that are "old" and a lot of people have already played those games. But there are someone who havnt played these games yet, so i dont mind it personally.

I love how NSMBU is a stretch considering it's a sequel to a game that sold 25 million copies.

Delusional.

Pretty solid launch lineup. And good call for Nintendo and UbiSoft to not release Rayman Origins on launch. Will probably be the best game on there and eclipse review scores compared to ZombiU and NSBMU yet probably get clobbered sales-wise.

And I can't be the only one somehow excited by Nintendo's Sing Party, right?

Is Tekken Tag 2 friendly to newcomers? Never played a Tekken game before but I want to support Harada (free dlc is a great thing) and the WiiU extras sold me

Fighting games arent friendly to new comers, especially if you go online. If you enjoy learning and getting better at something, then go for it cause you will lose a lot.

Transformers Prime is a Wii/3DS port I believe.

Doesn't really change his point, substitute Gun, Madden, COD2 or whatever. 360 launch was just as overwhelmed with ports, yet they somehow "count" thanks to be rendered nicer (except the PC ports, which looked worse). It's not far off from saying Batman AC should "count" thanks to control gimmickry.
