Nintendo lists the 23 games launching w/ WiiU on Nov 18 [Post-Launch Day List Added]

This is an awesome launch day line up...wow. I would live to get ACIII, NSMBU, Blops 2, and ZombiU. Unfortunately, I'll only be able to get one or maybe two. So far it's a tie between Blops and ACIII. I'm a sucker for online shooters so ill probably go with Blops. Hopefully Nintendo has a solid online infrustructure up at launch.

Incredible launch lineup if you dont have a PS3/360.

Pretty good otherwise.

I think even if you own PS3/360 it doesnt change that the launch lineup is incredible with the added launch window titles. Yea they are ports but they arent straight ports. They have added content and new ways of playing the game with the new controller. I loved Batman AA on my 360. I even got Batman AC on 360 but didnt play it once I heard Wii U is getting a port of it. Im gonna get that version because of a few reasons I just posted.

Is Tekken Tag 2 friendly to newcomers? Never played a Tekken game before but I want to support Harada (free dlc is a great thing) and the WiiU extras sold me

It's a game that would be fun to play with people who are the same level as you in fighting games. Generally, playing online will suck for newcomers, so it's good to get if you have a group of friends to play with offline.

Fighting games arent friendly to new comers, especially if you go online. If you enjoy learning and getting better at something, then go for it cause you will lose a lot.

Thanks.

I'll most likely pick it up. I have friends who also suck at fighting games to play with :p

If I hang onto my preorder, I'll be getting these:

Mario
Nintendo Land (pack in)
Zombi U
Tekken Tag 2

And maybe Batman & COD.

With Wonderful 101 & Pikmin still to come, frankly that's more than enough for the first 4 months.

Epic Mickey 2 is coming out this year? Is that right? I thought it was a 2013 title.

Really? Wow your a big fan. Most of these ports are going to look better on the PS3/360. I have already brought this up and don't want to crap up the thread but the launch lineup looks "solid" if you already have a ps3/360

I don't know if this can be considered the best launch line-up ever - to be fair XBox one comes to mind - but it is very good indeed and there's much stuff I would purchase already.

For me best launch ever was N64 followed by SNES. Course how many times can a console launch with a revolutionary game.

Yeah, N64 one was good as well: Mario 64, Wave race and Pilotwings iirc.

This one for a thing is overwhelmingly huge, there's a bunch of good quality games, and with some exclusives - NSMBU, Rayman, NintendoLand, ZombiU, Scribblenauts(3DS and Wii U), Toki Tori, Nano assault and the new game from the creators of World of Goo(on Steam as well but exclusives on console).

When it comes down to it, Im really against DLC. I can probably count the amount of times which Ive paid for it with one hand. If i can get a better version with the added content already on the disc thats the version Im going to get. Plus add the new Wii U controller bonus and Im there. I love Batman games, they are just fantastic. I really want this gen to die already, its gotten very stale.

Really? I was under the impression that WiiU's graphics capabilities are at least a slim ways into the next generation. I remember Randy Pitchford saying that the WiiU version of Aliens was going to be the best looking version (besides PC obviously). I assumed the other PS3/Xbox360 ports will be slight upgrades.

I thought the N64 launch consisted of Mario and PilotWings only.

My personal favorite will always be Dreamcast, mainly because of how many genres were represented. Platformer, fighting, sports, survival horror, light gun, mech, espionage, racing (auto, boat, hoverboard), shmup.

Something for just about everyone.

unoptimized ports on new hardware that isn't a giant step up from the previous generation is not going to get you noticeably better results and most times (like in this case) it can result in poorer quality ports.

No. It's hard as fuck. Way harder than any 2D game I've played. I wouldn't ever recommend someone who is bad at fighting games get TTT2, which probably explains its poor sales. Sad though, its the best fighting game this gen by a mile.

Same. The later Soul Calibur games have tarnished the franchise's name somewhat, but the first deserves to be remembered as one of the most revolutionary day 1 games ever.

That is the American Dreamcast launch. When the Dreamcast hit retail for the first time in 1998, Sonic wasn't even a launch title.

Soul Calibur was released 10 months after the Dreamcast was in gamers hands.

Don't listen to this guy. If you have friends to play with, it will be fun.

Yeah future titles will definitely look better I'm just talking about launch window. Randy is about the most unreliable source there is.

Best Launches in my mind go:
-N64
-SNES
-Dreamcast
-Xbox

looks like i'm not missing anything since i didn't preorder. i'll pick one up next year, probably, when pikmin and rayman are out, and if the system has a better outlook.

i like that mass effect 3 isn't a launch day thing.

edit: wow, especially with that mass effect trilogy news. i feel bad for anyone who wasted time with that port.

Best?
N64 had literally just two titles at launch. And it took months before more good titles came out. Almost a year for some of the really good ones.

Super Mario 64 kept me busy for months!
I didn't get an N64 at launch

Ya, Mario64 was amazing... Probably in the top 5 games of all time for me. Pilot Wings 64 was good too. But 2 titles does not a good launch make. :p
hence you didn't get a launch N64

If you bought in Japan. I am of course talking about the Western launch. The Japanese launch was...lacking.

VF3tb, Pen Pen Tri Icelon, and Godzilla Generations. So basically, one game.

Pretty great list actually. Covers a lot of demographics.

I will have plenty to play until they finally decide to announce stuff outside of this window.

Bucket list of games I need to complete before the WiiU launches:

SNES
Shadowrun
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Metal Warriors

PSP
FFVII - Not stopping till Ruby is down

PS2
Silent Hill 2
ICO
FFXII

Wii
Pikmin 2 (so close...)
Xenoblade
S&P2
Metroids (three primes and an m)

3DS/GBA
Too many to list

Very similar to the bucket list I created before I had a kid. I think I'll just start the WiiU with Zombi and NSMB2 and not buy another till I beat them. The only 3DS launch title I beat was Ghost Recon (which is sad, considering Pilotwing's and Steel Divers' length).

Grabbin' November
Deluxe (w/ Nintendoland)
NSBMU
BLOPS2

Then December
AC3
ZombiU
FIFA 13

Then by March
Scribblenauts Unlimited
BACAE
Pikmin3
The Wonderful 101
Rayman Legends

I say anytime you can get a console and really want over 10 games in first few months... that's a damn strong lineup. I'm also cutting off the download games I think look good and the few questionable titles I'm considering.

Wii U is going to be amazing.

Is it confirmed that Sing Party will have DLC songs? Lips on 360 was pretty decent, if Sing Party's song list will be good as Lips, I might bite.

Known eShop titles listed for November release are:

Chasing Aurora
Cloudberry Kingdom
Trine 2: Director's Cut
Mighty Switch Force HD
Nano Assault Neo
Little Inferno
Toki Tori 2
Little Iferno, the new game from World of Goo makers makes launch <3

Having several 8 titles at launch is really great but I'd rather have 1 revolutionary game. Revolutionary games endure for a long time. I played SM64 for months and month. I played Halo for years. I played Super Mario Land for months. Soul Calibur the same. To me those are what make a new console exciting something I have never seen before.

Think I'll do Nintendoland (pack-in) and New Super Mario Bros.

I'll wait for used copies of Arkham City, Darksiders 2, and ZombiU to flood the market.

I'm interested in playing all 3, but I think they'll sell a lot, get traded in, then become super cheaply used within in the first 3 months.

Pretty much.

Outside of NSMB and ZombieU nothing really interests me. And those only passingly interest me since ZombieU hasn't gotten rave impressions from what I've heard.
