yeah, the show has truly the worst character designs of all the I will watch next season.

Tony Taka with two broken hands could make better designs.

Dead

well not really...yet
I think all of us were like that. I really need to lower a lot of my scores.
I just did and i'm already rethinking many of them lol

Code Geass R2 a 4? I think not! 2!
Gonzo shit like Trinity Blood a 3? Obviously its a 1

Dead

Well it wasn't even clear what show you were talking about!
To be fair, that seems like it holds true for creators of said show too :3

If you don't mark what you're spoiling, no one will know what you're talking about without potentially spoiling themselves. It's polite to provide the name of the show when you use spoiler tags.
I know, my bad, I edited it

Polar Bear Cafe 26

Oh my. That last section is so gifable but I really don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone else.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
The face of God stretches infinitely in both directions.

Can we expect something more detailed on this or it has demoralized you? Now I want to know precise impressions of what happened...

Come on, come on now! I understand if you dislike their appearance, but merits like expressiveness on those animation character designs puts it, in my opinion, above what that man has done until now.

Please, nothing about those bland New World character designs has anything on this:

There's nothing particularly expressive about those designs themselves, it's what the animators can make of it that will make them expressive or not.

I see absolutly no reason to put Chikashi Kubota above Tony Taka. Kubota is maybe a good animator but that's maybe his problem as character designer. The character designs are extremly simple and are super samefacey - even between the girls and the boys. It's maybe perfect for an animator but it looks just bad after all.

There's no Season 2. Sadly.

An average ending for an average show.

Yes, there was our first real free for all fight that one would have imagined happening ages ago, but I guess we're pulling all the big guns for the finale. Well, the most they would really do for this show, so some sword slashes, lots of fire and water flying average and real basic movements.

Mitsuhide showing up and almost doing her thing would have made this series amazing, but alas she decides to do the lesbian method instead so uh, show almost redeemed.

Hell, they even did the whole Where's Everyone Now montage at the 16 minute mark and I couldn't even care too much to hate over that. Probably better than anything they could have kill time with.

But, yeah, this show was average to a fault. With the way they were doing it, it was bound to have decent episodes, good episodes, great episodes, horrible episodes and NaoeKanetsugu.jpg episodes. But, all in all, everything was basically average.

But, I would watch again. :[

Was there ever another episode as good as the Bowling for Columbine one? lol

Was there ever another episode as good as the Bowling for Columbine one? lol

Episode 8 for the sheer wtf.

Episode 18 cause it was a really nicely done feels sad story.

Episode 19 cause it had the same director.

Episode 21 mostly cause it was different and was in a new setting.

Episode 23 wasn't bad, but I liked the documentary setting and making the setting interesting.

Of course, watching the whole series could have null and void my opinion.

dat lack of depth perception

Eh. Maybe if it were the swimsuit one.

I have a lack of depth perception. that exact thing has happened to me before :(
Also, not interested in swimsuit versions of characters. Too plain. Especially when a character has a really pretty and interesting outfit like KYH's butterfly avatar.

Ok just finished manually inputting 200 anime into MAL....
I don't know why you can't rate movie parts as a whole, I can't remember my exact impression of all 6 Kyoukai movies or all 6 Towa no Quon movies. At least now I have a MAL, dunno how to do the graph stuff though.

My 10's are:

Chihayafuru
Death Note
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
K-On! (Movie)
Usagi Drop
Shiki
Shiki Specials
Clannad: After Story
Bounen no Xamdou
Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch

I might drop Geass, Xam'd and Clannad into 9's they're teetering at the boundary. Gunslinger girls might go up if I still love it in 3 months.

Full list

Nice list. Code Geass isnt 10 for being perfect, but its a definite 10 in most peoples hearts.

Bell curves for this really don't mean much as you're self-selecting a lot of this.

Truth. I just don't watch shows that I'm probably not going to enjoy. That's why I dont have many 1's and no 2s or 3s. At minimum I try to watch shows that I would typically rate a 4 or higher. Below that and I just don't bother.

That's not dead eye...

Granted, Garzey is a case where either a 10 or a 1 is acceptable. I have a space at the bottom of my list for things that defy scoring:

This is a good way to do it actually. I just gave such shows 10s and 9s for being greater than the sum of their parts.

According to MAL, Nijine is in charge of the music for Chu2koi (I guess I'll get used to using this now). The only things I've seen that Nijine has worked on are BakaTest and Mashiro-iro Symphony. I don't remember the music for BakaTest being anything remarkable. As for Mashiro, I personally liked its music even though it was pretty standard for Manglobe projects and only a little above the standard of regular VN adaptations.

I don't know of any of Nijine's projects where the music has stood out. I'm just expecting tracks that will work for each scene, but nothing too amazing. I hope that Nijine proves me wrong though.

Baka To Test is a really cute show, but I would agree it has nothing in the way of memorable music. I cannot even remember the OP song.

2/10 wouldn't glop.

There is nothing special about this character at all whatsoever. I agree.

The Light of El Cantare
Oda Nobuna no Yabou 11-12 (END):

What a completely lame and flat ending. Honestly, it's difficult to find things to say because there was nothing particularly climactic about anything that happened, or, rather, the climax that did occur didn't feel earned.

The series has been in a downward spiral since the midpoint, largely thanks to the introduction of the completely comical and non-threatening shadowy league of villainy that subsequently took over as the main threat. Rather than conveying the feeling that the stakes of conquest had been raised, cobbling together a group of minor personalities only served to diffuse the threat and rob all further military campaigns of their tension. The fact that, after the entire series, the final "threat" to Nobuna ended up being a sniveling fop in clown makeup who theretofore had had screen time in the mere minutes stands as the final testament to how poorly the "serious" side of the show was handled. Things simply came to an ending because they had to and not because the particular events happening at the end of the series were any sort of logical time and place to bring the conflict of leaders and ideas to a head.

The episodes themselves were pretty bad from
Protag-kun faking his death onward
, mostly because everyone lost their heads and started doing impulsive stupid shit in response to this just to rush along the climax. It was stupid and insulting to see
Nobuna doing just about the most rash thing she could--burn Japan's holiest site to the ground--in revenge for Protag and Juubei's "deaths" as Protag had spent the ENTIRE series encouraging Nobuna to avoid basing military decisions on pure emotion
. An entire series' worth of development down the shitter, complete with the most ludicrous handwaving of the implications imaginable as
Nobuna and Protag-kun realize their feelings for each other among the burning temples
and suddenly everything's okay in spite of what Nobuna just did because reasons.

The characters' personal resolutions sucked pretty badly as well--
dream sequences are generally shitty uncreative ways to get a character to reach some kind of revelation because, given the nature of a dream, concepts and feelings that may have theretofore been vague and figurative to the character in question become concrete and literal. Nobuna realizes that she actually loves Protag by dreaming that she's in a wedding dress in a church. She comes to grips with his "death" by crying over a coffin while wearing mourning attire. Things like this that beat the characters' feelings over their own heads and leave no room for inference on the part of the viewer are just utterly dull to watch.

At least the loliservice shit was kept to a relative minimum in the final two episodes, but Nobuna's tits half-exposed and flailing around during the final battle ensured that nary an important scene went by without at least something classless.

Also, lest this issue escape my notice due to everything else that happened,
there wasn't a single speck of resolution regarding the time travel phenomenon in the finale. Does Protag-kun want to stay? Does he want to return? How does he feel about altering the past? All of the other sappy bullshit in the finale was totally expected, but to not even follow up on your show's single conceit is stupid.
What a terrible show.

Sket Dance end

Good ending to a great show. Probably the least aggravating
confession
scenes I have seen.

I guess this is the longest thing I've watched from beginning to end since I joined animegaf. Sad to see it end like this. Hopefully it'll pull a Gintama and come back. Until then, anyone know what chapter of the manga this ended on?

Those stupid designs are not really Tony Taka's fault. his artwork is MUCH more attractive than that. Its a poor adaptation. Frankly, his designs don't lend very well to animation.
