That was RE5. I doubt there's a Ninja Gaiden game bad enough for RE6.
Perhaps Ninja Gaiden Z will be up to the task; they already have one of the worst developers out there making it!

I'm not "upset" as I bought the game on a whim and I'm not a fan of Resident Evil games, but merely calling a spade a spade.
According to Gamespot this game is worse than Haze and as bad as LAIR and Sonic 2006. I don't think that's fair.
And yet I bet this game still sells well >_>
Indeed.I almost feel bad for Capcom.

What does Jeff mean by this? Caveats?
What does Jeff mean by this? Caveats?
I don't. I hope this is a wake up call for them.
Wow this game is getting tore up.
So..Exclusive review plus marketing = Good Review. Legit Review = Decent to Terrible game?
Wow @ Kevin VanOrd's review of the game. I'll be staying away from this one. Sad to see what the RE franchise has become.
They've been running commercials for months and it's still RE. Of course it will.
Wow. Will be interesting to see how this impacts sales, if at all.
I don't. I hope this is a wake up call for them.

It's that guy who docked uncharted for being linear. Seems to entertain some kind of a weird relationship/fascination with the series. Not surprised he'd bust out some awkward reference to it.We've both played it. I'd like to know what they played to come to that comparison.
People will still buy it, a lot of them will proceed to complain about it on the internet, but that's irrelevant at that point, because capcom already got their money.
He also thinks RE 4 is a bad game.
It won't be. This will sell well like ORC and they will continue to do what works. It's what the market wants.
Goddamn Capcom
Holy shit, this may be the most polarizing game in the history of gaming.
And yet I bet this game still sells well >_>
wow! too late to cancel my amazon order, I might return it...
Exactly. I don't see any reason to feel bad for Capcom, they did this to themselves and they'll probably still be happy with the results. It's not like they care about quality when it comes to this franchise anyway (Operation Racoon City).People will still buy it, a lot of them will proceed to complain about it on the internet, but that's irrelevant at that point, because capcom already got their money.
Clover makes no money, talent leaves. Capcom goes mad and releases RE4 on PS2, biggest talent leaves. Biggest talent re-defines 3rd person shooters this gen, Capcom uses 600 people to work on a game that sucks. Talk about karma.
Or, you could play it and make up your own mind. You never know, you might find some redeeming qualities underneath the flaws if you keep your mind open.
I'm also reminded of Kamiya's views on big teams, and I imagine he's grinning now.

He's probably restricted from mentioning certain things and has to review around those limitations.
So any big technical issues mentioned? Platform differences?
yes.

In any case, you could scratch that reference and identically replace it by: "it's too goddam linear," which appears to be essentially synonymous with "it's uncharted" in his mind.
Har har.yes.
I bet this will be a game that gets mixed reviews but but will eventually fall into the Dragon Age 2 hole of just being shit. Hype and fanboyism can boost a score a lot of the time.

Destructoid said:It's bad enough that the game -- at its very best -- is so pedestrian, but to screw up in areas that even third-rate shooters manage to get right is something Capcom should find degrading. It's not enough to say that Resident Evil 6 is poor as a Resident Evil game. That alone implies there could be a quality experience if fans can get past their preconceptions and feelings of betrayal. No, Resident Evil 6 is poor by the standards of any game, not just the high ones set by its own legacy. This is unexceptional tripe that becomes insulting once the woeful missteps come into play. Resident Evil 6 is not just a step back for the series, it's a step back for common garden, unassuming action-shooters.
If any consistently good thing can be said of Resident Evil 6, it's that it has made Paul W.S. Anderson's film adaptations look like fine works of art in comparison.
