They were obtained by a third party, prove them wrong with some concrete argument other than "Apple showed them".
1. Timed exclusive is still exclusive, this is a fact. Therefore stuff like Instagram counted.
2. Infinity Blade sells more than 90% of the games talked about on GAF. It's not some niche game.
Good build quality, lack of stupid carrier/manufacturer branding/software (TouchWiz lol), smooth scrolling.
Then it's games like Infinity Blade, Real Racing, etc. Contrary to your beliefs, games that could even be considered hardcore like Infinity Blade are popular as evidenced by their download counts. If you want me to count, I'll add IB, EA Games, Square Games, etc. It's the combined presence of all of them that makes good numbers.
For a high profile non-game app, I'll mention tweetdeck. Also Facetime is hands down the best video chat application that's available on any platform by far.
It's official GAF, there's not debating with him. Lol.
+5,000,000 is not that much if you consider how many smarphones are out there, and part of that number belongs to iPads. +100,000,000 for the free Angry Birds app.
LOL, implying that non-Apple phones cannot have good build quality, nice one.
You mean the same TweetDeck that's on like, Android too, and Windows and like everything else??
Skype is still the better free video communication tool, you are just being foolish now. More options and functionality, can talk to anyone outside of your platform, SMS, and just more overall versatility. What is it that makes Facetime better? I'll give you video quality, but that can vary greatly.
Clearly, we've established iOS is better for gaming, I am not rebuking that. But I'm pretty sure, Android isn't losing a large chunk of their install base or potential new comers because of this. I don't see Google desperately trying to match iOS in this aspect, and when I look at the Android Gaming Thread here, it makes me realize they don't need to. You are acting like this is as big as them missing a music player, or picture viewer or something...
Just for clarification. I think both OS's are fairly matched, but lean more towards Android, there are less Apps, but I feel as if I can do more and control more. At least, without rooting or jailbreaking my device. I don't think there is some overwhelming advantage, like Coldfoot seems to think, and it can ultimately come down to preference.
I think iOS is great and very accessible, efficient, and overall offers a pretty good user experience. My girlfriend loves her iPhone 5, and I think it's a pretty slick device and have used it a couple of times. I do dislike the static and fairly dated feeling UI though, and feel as if Android OS is advancing fast than iOS. iOS6 didn't turn any heads, from what I've read and seen.
I think Windows, or Metro, or....
I think it's pretty nice, my buddy has an 820, I think. And I really liked the UI, it looked fairly fresh, but sometimes it feels too Zune-ish. Haven't had too much time with it, but I would imagine the App support is on the low side. I think it need more time to really take off.
