So I just checked newegg and they have the release date for AC3 and ZombiU for the US as November 18, when the actual release date is November 13. What are the odds that they will ship the games on the 13th instead of the 18th?

Do we know of any other games that could potentially be released before the Wii U is released?

I know there has been talk about ZombiU possibly being out on the 13th do to GameStop listing it for that date.

Has anyone come across anything? Any companies known for having their games out early at launches?

it's even in the latest trailer.

SNES inspired 3rd party controller. I like it a lot, though I'll wait for reviews.

Wait, why does it say that the controller is an estimated $30 less than a real controller....is the real pro controller estimated to be $80 or something?

Edit: Never mind, just looked at the listing on the website and saw the estimate....its just seemed so ridiculous to me....
Does that mean that they'll lower the price to reflect the same level of savings once the real price of the official pro controller is revealed?

I can't believe how much hyPe I have for launch and the expectations I have as well. With what I've got lined up for launch... May just be my best launch experience ever and that says a lot. Impressive. Most impressive.

I think someone was on GAF back during E3 when I made this post and took it literally.

I like it. Looks like Nintendo just wants to keep the D-Pad next to the face buttons for classic control scheme.
My first thought actually:

Will hit up Best Buy tonight to see if there are demo units or when they plan to set them up. Haven't got my hands on a Wii U yet so I'm excited to finally try it out.

The ZombiU trailer said Nov. 13th so it should be a fact, I think most non Nintendo Launch day games will be Nov 13th since its tuesday

So what do you guys have planned to walk away with at launch. I've got all my choices preordered and paid off.

Premium Black Wii U Console
Ninja Gaiden 3
Assassin's Creed 3
Mass Effect 3
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Pro Controller

It's running me quite a bit but I'm sure all of these games could keep me busy for quite a few months.
I've only bought the Deluxe black Wii U. I'd like to pick up at least New Super Mario Bros. U, but at the rate I save up for video games, the Wii U put me in enough debt (to myself, fortunately) that I won't be able to afford anything else until February.

Might splurge on one of the screen protector things, but otherwise I'll just hope NintendoLand and the rest of my video game collection can tide me over until Christmas. (I'd imagine that some combination thereof will suffice; I only have a backlog the size of the Great Wall of China.)

So the news about Nintendo being generally open to the idea* of selling through cable companies… I think that's something I might spring for. I'm pelted constantly (as I have only internet service) with tv/phone/internet offers from my local cable and fiber companies involving getting a free tablet with a two year contract. I'm not really interested in that particular perk, but if they offered a Wii U at a substantially lower base price instead of their normal "universal DVR" and instead of the tablet, I might just bite.

I toy with the idea of having television now and then, though I'd have to buy a new TV, and I toy with the idea of getting a Wii U. At the current price, neither option alone is attractive to me. But clumsily mashed together, it might actually overall be gestalt-value enough for me to give it a go… as long as they let me keep the system after the two years are up. :p

* it was a leading question by the interviewer and the answer was only arguably more than noncommittal, but I wanted to chat about it anyway.

I need this for Smash Bros Wii U.

Eww... look where the A button is at... The gamecube centered around the A button, to have it off to the side will make playing games designed for it god awful.

The least they could have done was rotated it (A where B is, B where Y is, etc). It wouldn't match up with the SNES (which is obviously what they were going for) but it would work MUCH better for gamecube and n64 games that way... then again that would also destroy SNES BC... no win scenario ;)

I won't lie, TVii was definitely a factor in my decision to order early. The implementation of Netflix just seemed better than the one on the 360 (Gold required, IIRC, and can't chose an episode before watching it) or my TV's built-in app (no search function - at all), and HD makes it inherently better than the Wii's app. Don't have a Hulu Plus subscription, though.

Oh wow you're completely right, I think I just glanced at it and assumed the normal layout.. Well revert the face buttons back to Gamecube style or a slight variation and I would want it for smash :).

And a Pro Controller, but I couldn't preorder that at GameStop, so I'll get it on launch day.

Goddammit, newegg Canada and amazon Canada never get these promotins. Hell, both of them don't have Wii U shit listed (hardware-wise). Pathetic.

I have preordered for launch:

Basic WiiU
White Pro Controller
NSMBU
NintendoLand
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Sonic Racing
Tekken Tag 2

Don't know if I'll get it all... hopefully.
Also have a bunch of 2013 games preordered as well.

The site you GO to for Nintendo news is reporting an anonymous tipster mentioning a Nintendo Direct announcement in the next couple of days.

Obviously it doesn't take an anonymous tip to figure out that one is coming, but it's something to consider I guess. Would be a bit earlier than most predicted in this thread.

True smash players adapted with the controls. I use the Wii remote and nunchuk in brawl and love it. The Z button is much better and quicker for dodging compared to the L button on the GameCube controller. Sue me.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.

I bet you large sums of fake internet dollars that this tipster just took the speculation from this board.

Is there any compelling/exclusive reason to get Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing Transformed for Wii U at this point? The first All-Star Racing was mediocre at best in my book. Will the gameplay be better on the U? ... cool use of tablet? nintendo fanservice?

This game has sort of been off my radar, but a good replayable racing game might be a good purchase if it actually is looking good.

Poor soul couldn't even get the most speculated day right.

I'm pretty sure the iPad Mini conference date was just set to be the 23rd. Following the Apple - Nintendo conference schedule we should see a Direct on the 24th ;)

I think there are a couple exclusive characters but none of them really nintendo related... In short, nothing about it will likely make you buy it if you weren't interested in the first one, unless you are a kart fanatic and you need something to cope with the wait for the Wii U mario kart.

Thinking exactly this myself.

Off-TV Play is pushing me towards a purchase as that's a big feature for me, but I agree a nice kart racer might be a good, solid purchase for a system launch.

A lot of people are getting this game, I am skeptical about Sega trying to make a Mario Kart copy and being successful,The videos look good thought but I think would be more fun to have Sonic and his fellas in a Mario Kart game as playable drivers...
