arent you overestimating the blu ray a bit? Blu Ray is hardly the system seller dvd was for ps2. Most people do not use blu ray, dvd sections in stores are usually bigger than blu ray sections...(blu ray is stupid)

It's not as large as the DVD section, no... BUT it did save the format and Sony still makes a solid penny from licensing as well as leveraging it for their own studios.

So what do you guys have planned to walk away with at launch. I've got all my choices preordered and paid off.

Premium Black Wii U Console
Ninja Gaiden 3
Assassin's Creed 3
Mass Effect 3
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Pro Controller

It's running me quite a bit but I'm sure all of these games could keep me busy for quite a few months.

Premium black console, when me, my wife, and daughter lose interest in Nintendo Land, then we can look into other games... Despite what any gamestop employee may tell you, those games aren't going to be out of stock.

DC had a few launch titles that were hard to find for a week or two.

Oh, I remember another one. Lumines ended up selling out at a ton of places during the PSP launch but it was restocked quickly.

I have a Premium console, NSMBU and ACIII payed off. I'm going to wait a a week or two before I decide on Batman. If it turns out to be a bad port, I'll get Darksiders II or Scribblenauts.

EDIT: Also, I plan on getting Nano Assault and Little Inferno from the eShop.

$60 for it is wayyyy overpriced. You get basically the same game on iOS for $2 (well basically...)

That being said, the Ninty characters have me in at Day 1 ... and the pre-order bonus from gamestop is ADORABLE!

You can get Battlefield games and Need For Speed games on iOS too. Oh you can also get Dead Trigger on iOS so you don't need to buy ZombiU, right?

This crap has to stop.

After the 80 hours of battery life on 1 charge story today, I'd say this is a must buy especially with TTT2.

Indeed, but any that will sell that well to be out of stock will be back in stock pretty quickly, and we already know Nintendo games will be day 1 digital so worst case scenario I'll just get Mario that way. No big loss as I don't resell Nintendo games very often anyways.

I'm wholeheartedly agreeing with anyone who says that launch titles will be easy to find. If the system does well to really well they can also get rare during the two weeks before Christmas just like anything popular.

I'm picking up:
Premium console
Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
Zombie U
New Super Mario Bros. U

I get one of the more interesting ports, third party show piece title, a quality multiplayer game and another multiplayer/showpiece title with NintendoLand.

Black console and NSMBU. The list may get better if my money is looking right. Also I have nothing paid off yet lol.

I can understand why people like to get all those games though. Its alot of variety to choose from and you want to play games on new console.

Well right now, I got these all preordered:

32gb Wii U
New Super Mario Bros U
Scibblenauts Unlimited
Assassin's Creed 3
Sonic & All star racing transformed
Wii U pro controller

I'm actually not positive on getting Scibblenauts and AC3 though. Scribblenauts does feel like a game that should be cheaper, and I kinda feel like the PC version might be the one to get. While I'm just not sure I want AC3 until I hear reviews. I never beat AC revelations cuz I was starting to feel burned out on the series.

I'm still interested in some titles like NG3, and Warriors Orochi 3.

I know it probably won't be possible (supported), but it'd be nice if I could use a game pad as a dummy controller - a pro controller, basically.

For instance I could take my game pad to my friend's house and play black ops, using it as a pro controller, with no screen utilization at all.

That would be nice.

Edit: oh yeah. I was thinking: IF Nintendo Land can be patched then not only could they add new attractions they could add online multiplayer. Y'know, once they figure out what their online strategy is. ;)

It would be... sadly I don't think they will either, which is a shame. A simply little switch could suffice on the controller itself...

I've just got the Premium console and AC3 preordered for now. I know I'll be picking up Mario at launch too, I'm gonna wait to hear impressions from people here on NG3, and I would like a Pro Controller. My birthday and my anniversary are both just before launch day, so I'm hoping my friends/GF will help me out with some of this, hahah.

I'm really torn on the pro controller. I know I will hardly ever use it since it just seems to be utterly pointless for anything but Tekken. That said, I want Tekken :^/

Assassin creed 3
101 heroes (is that coming out?)
if not that super mario
Pro Controller

Nope. Wonderful 101 isn't a launch title, but it should be out by March I assume, since they keep describing it as "launch window" software.

All I really have confirmed for now is NSMBU. Everything else is "wait and see." Rayman got pushed to next year, The Wonderful 101 isn't launch day, no idea how Zombi U will be received, no idea how ACIII will end up performing or what will happen with potential DLC, jury's out on Ninja Gaiden 3, etc. etc.

I mean, I'm fine with just one game initially as I'm buying the console based on titles that are pretty far out anyway, but I'd still like to nail down at least one other day 1 purchase.

Are you interested in any eShop titles?

Deluxe Console
ZombiU
Tekken
CoD BO2
Batman
ME3
AC3
Darksiders 2

all for launch...I had to cancel my pro controller pre order due to a fear of lack of funds lol
(all the games are $45...I love Futureshop)

do u guys remember ps3's ebay prices? i strictly remember one guy asking $250,000 for a 60gb ps3. he's reason for the steep price was to bring up his daughter, iirc.

compare to that, wii's price was so low, it felt bad, :)

True story; my buddy managed my college town GameStop back in '06 and reserved me a 60 gig PS3 for launch day. So I went ahead and bought it even though I had no interest. The next day I decided to throw it up on eBay with no reserve or BIN. That sucker closed out at over $1,200. Insane.

As for my Wii U launch day pick-ups:

- Deluxe Console w/ Nintendo Land
- NSMBU
- Sonic Racing 2 (or whatever it's called)
- Pro Controller

If Lego City releases before Christmas, I'll definitely buy purchase it. Going to rent ZombiU, BLOPS 2, AC3 and Darksiders 2 from Gamefly.

Honestly, all I've really looked into at this point are Trine 2, and Nano Assault Neo. I'd welcome some more recommendations.

Little Inferno definitely seems interesting to me even though we haven't seen too much on it. It's from the World of Goo people.

Also, if you haven't played Mighty Switch Force, I'd recommend the HD port. It's a nice platformer that's especially fun if you like speed running. I'm not sure if it's launch though.

EDIT: Sorry about the double post.

Do we expect to hear any more titles to be announced before launch? Just curious

Yes and no
Reggie said there are some launch window games to be announced but are still in development so we still don't know if they will announce those titles before or after launch.
Apparently a guy with insider info said we should expect big announcements this or next week but take that with a grain of salt

Honestly, I can't get excited about any more new games for the launch window. I'm already sure none of the potential new games will have the effect of Bayonetta 2, 3-D Mario, Zelda, F-Zero, Metroid Super Smash Bros., Retro project, or Monolith Soft project.

The biggest news that I can see us getting in the near future is simply features of Wii U such as video chat, multi-tasking, online, and Miiverse.

Of course, it's been said that there might be something big related to the 3DS. Maybe that's where we'll see a big surprise. As for Wii U, I'm pretty much content with the idea that we won't be hearing about the heavy hitters anytime soon. I'd focus more on 3DS for big, surprising games.

SNES inspired 3rd party controller. I like it a lot, though I'll wait for reviews.

What's the estimated battery life on the gamepad? How likely is it you'll need to rush for the charger in the middle of a session? Bearing in mind it won't always be at 100% when you start using it too.

I'd have liked a USB charging option - AC seems unwieldy. Will they be selling chargers separately? With the premium bundle you get a charging cradle so the AC cale will be awkward to move around quickly.

Gamestop said 80 hours. Take that with a grain of chicken.

80 hours is insanely... insane. No way.

Unless Nintendo's been pumping dollars on creating 2050-like battery tech.

What are the enhancements of the NG3 port besides the inclusion of Ayane? Any changes in the graphics department?

Less like NG3, more like actual NG.
Delicious Ayane as you've succinctly mentioned.
No graphics upgrades I think
or seen.

It's 3-5 hours. They should have done something like Apple with their hybrid USB/WallWart charging solution. That way you could plug it in using AC nearer to you than you'd have to if it was connected via USB to the console. But then have the option if you wanted to.

Eh? The gamepad has its own AC power adapter. It doesn't charge via the console.
