Fotus hitbox; If i shoot the tip of the horn will it be a headshot?
This is a worthy question. I also would like to know this.

Air Assault, Wetwork & Venator for me. Though I see scanner being the perfect trolling helmet what with the virtual boy glued to the head.

Also CQC has been dethroned as ugliest helmet because Ranger is just plain hideous.

Hazop? Oceanic?
The list of godawful helmets outnumbers that of decent ones 3 to 1.

Ranger is just like... a bucket. Also slight Moltar vibes:

So, Extraction.

The game guide makes it sound very similar to Dominion.

Capture locations on the map, hold them to earn points, prevent the other team from counter-capturing.

Other than not having bases to build up, and the Sudden Death endgame, what else differentiates this from Dominion? I'm sure there's something given how the game types were pared down, but I'm not grasping it.

It seems more like assault mixed with territories to me, after you take over an area a timer begins counting down, and when it hits zero the team that controls it gets a point. I'm assuming that after a point's been captured, it'll come back later and be up for grabs again.

Wow, that CG is beautiful. The scene on the surface of Requiem... wow. That looked better than some of the live action stuff.

People complain about Waypoint all the time, but both in this case and in FUD, the video player works much better for me than YouTube.

Also, Plywood, you holding up all right with Sandy? Anyone else in the Northeast?

My house is currently getting battered by the winds here in Cleveland. And our power has clicked off something like a dozen times, but never for more than 5 seconds. And my first class is canceled tomorrow.

Okay. If I'm understanding correctly:

Multiple capture points on the map.

Teams need to capture and hold one to score a point, prevent counter-capturing.

Do capture points rotate (say, two active at once, rotating to various positions ala territories/KotH) after they are captured? If so that could be interesting.

ONI logo flashes for a split second at the end of the new trailer. There's a veeery faint glyph to the right of it.

From the small amount of gameplay I've seen, there are definitely at least two active at a time, I think I've seen as many as 3. I'm sure others have more info on exactly how it works though.

It starts off with points Alpha and Bravo active one the map. When one of those is extracted, Charlie becomes active. It goes as far as Echo so there seems to be at least five unique places on the map to have points.

So, you start extracting and when the timer hits zero, whoever is posessing it takes the point regardless of how long they've held it? Seems interesting.

Fuck, Spartan Ops trailer? It's already bad enough having people revealing new Covenant drop ships and shit.

Guess I'm gonna go dark again. See you in a half hour!

Thanks guys, that's enough for me to go on. Just wanted a decent description to differentiate it from Dominion, I think I get it now.

Sounds pretty damn fun, a nice twist on territories/plots, only more dynamic.

The interactive game guide is pretty good, and I'll pull a few elements out of it to pretty up the OT with. I've decided not to replicate or describe all content in the game (all weapons, armor mods, etc.), as the game manual, Bulletins and the interactive guide do a good enough job of each; I'm trying to avoid making just a big content dump. But I'll cover the scope of the game, and then link away to primary sources.

Questions I still have after reading it:

--Is Campaign still 4-player online co-op? It was not mentioned that I saw, and after Theater's removal, I'd like to be sure. Campaign matchmaking?

--How many slots in the file share? 24?

--What day do new Spartan Ops episodes come out? Tuesdays?

I hope there is more to it than that otherwise both Extraction and Dominion are very similar and reminiscent of territories really.

Hate to be a downer but it seems like:

1. New CTF removes stealth altogether.

2. New game modes of Dominion & Extraction contain NO stealth either.

3. New armour abilities of PV essentially removes stealth altogether as well.

4. Halo 2/3/Reach MLG started the stealth decline

5. Reach introduced crappy objective game types such as Headhunter, Stockpile, KOTH, Oddball further into default Halo. Again no stealth elements here.

I posted a Waypoint thread about my lack of stealth concerns but it just seems to be getting confirmed at this point for Halo 4. Losing stealth is a real shame. I just don't see stealth fitting in any more in the current sandbox and gametypes being created. Now it just seems like the developers have it in their mind that is has to be instant gratification just like slayer for the most part.

All these factors combine to remove the aspects of stealth that I find a core part of my Halo gaming style in default slayer & default objective games (mainly objective).

Leakers or hands on players please tell me I am wrong and make me happy stealth player again.

So that new Halo Waypoint trailer was nice.. definitely some new snippets of gameplay, some nice new features, etc. I didn't notice anything about groups though.

Indeed. Seeing who is online and what playlist they are in from Waypoint seems pretty sweet. I'd imagine groups fit in there.
