President from any other tech company ever do an unboxing for their own product? What a obvious concept, easily forgotten. I love watching unboxing vids but never thought I would like it so much from a rep from their own company.

Video chat, other networking services require Nintendo Network ID. Register with a password, your birthdate, gender, area of residence, and e-mail address. Your Nintendo Network ID can be used to exchange contact information in the same way as Friend Codes. Nintendo Network purchases by one user can be played by other users on same system. Nintendo Network to be usable on other Nintendo game systems, PCs, smartphones. Your Nintendo Network ID can be tied to your ID on 3rd-party network services.

All I wanted.

Says Polygon:

A Nintendo Network ID is created next, with users asked to input a password, date of birth, gender, location and email address. This ID is used for eShop purchases, as well as within Miiverse and video chat.

That sounds "tied to the account to me". I really want purchases to be tied to the account :(

I loved that unboxing video, if any other company had made it they would of edited out the mistake of putting the stand backwards onto the desk. Instead, it felt nice and natural and nobody cares :D

LoL, you are reading my mind, and i didn't mentioned it because it's natural of course

That doesn't mean the purchases aren't tied to the account...

How can they be tied to the account if another user (account) can play them?

That doesn't mean it's tied to the console though. It was just explaining that if one user buys eShop content under an account, all other users on the console have access to it too. Similar to the PS3.

I see what you mean, I was assuming the terms user and account were the same.

Maturity, bitches.
Didn't they say you will soon be able to make purchases on a PC.

So the argument will be that my virtual console game will be stuck on my PC unplayable forever more.

I see what you mean, I was assuming the terms user and account were the same.

Nope. There's two different accounts on the system like PS3. One is your account on the system. The other is your Nintendo Network ID. All network stuff requires a Nintendo Network ID. Purchases are tied to the Nintendo Network ID. Once content is downloaded on the system, it's available to all other user accounts on the system, but it's still tied to the purchasers NNID.

Taken from the Nintendo Direct:

Im pretty sure this is the same system with PS3. Since I have multiple region accounts, if I buy a game from my US account, I can play that game on my Asian account too other than game-specific content that are region-locked. Unless of course I misunderstood what was said in Nintendo Direct.

My initial reaction to the brief snippets of (visual) menu design language witnessed was one of heavy skepticism, but as I start to understand the underlying ideas behind MiiVerse, etc, the whole does appear more solid.

I still view the visual style shown as extremely kawaii, to the limits of my personal taste - guess that's simply how it's gonna be, though; made in Japan = inevitably carries the japanese spirit.

I don't understand you people... Don't you want to play your brother's game on the same system without changing accounts?

You misunderstand. I think it's great that they clarified that part of things, but that's only half of the story. The other thing that's important to know is how you'll be able to access content you own on other devices (and what limitations - if any - they'll put in place) and they haven't really talked about that yet.
