Probably the best fitting dub ever.

When I first started watching SAO, I had compared the game mechanics to that of WoW and felt that it was really lacking, as a game. It wasn't until SAO 19 that I realized both SAO and AO are closer to EVE than WoW, and suddenly a lot of the game stuff makes more sense (the plot is still contrived, but the concept of the games themselves is much easier to understand).

WTF?! I remember watching the first few episodes of this show and thinking it was kinda crap. When the hell does it become this awesome?

They're the best part of the show. Honestly if you just want to look at the good parts, just watch any of their fights and that's about it, the show is pretty meh outside of that.

It's good but I dropped it when they went on the school trip. They basically took out all the best parts of those chapters, admittedly I understand why, but it doesn't make me any less disappointed by it.
This pleases my younger self.

The fight choreography in this show really is the pits. I mean yes it's beautifully animated but the movements themselves are just so braindead that the fights lack any tension. Kirito for being this great melee fighter continues to wail against a shield. It's amazing that he never thinks of trying to flank or doing anything other than just trying to brute force his way through or even going for the mages in the back first. There really is a stark difference between Zetsuen where the fighters use their environment to their advantage and move to different angles and SAO.

Yeah, it's Deko, Kumin, and Shinka. I guess they ran a CM during episode 6 that showed the Rikka suit but not the others. You'll have to wait until it goes on sale to see the rest.

The K-ON! ones are pretty awesome, so I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of these.
That was my impression at first, but I think it's genuinely charming now. It's stepped the fuck up.

While calling it "one of Ghibli's Best" is kind of a massive stretch, it was still a movie I really, really enjoyed. It's far from perfect. It's telling a very simple story, but it was really earnest and sweet. Not to mention it was pretty as hell. I think a lot of this was colored by the fact it was the first Ghibli film I got to see in theaters. On the big screen, it was one of the most visually stunning experiences I've had.
Dear lord, someone confirm or deny this. I need this to be true. I will pay obscene amounts of money for whatever they put out.
