I have a question and I think this doesn't deserve its own thread, this photo is not mine and the person that took it says that its not edited, my head hurts now because I can't imagine how this photo could be made, I know the model didn't just jump because she couldn't be in that position and her hair would not be like that, Can anyone help me? I feel like I am obsessed now.
Images like this are usually done by taking a pic of the background first, adding a model and having the model stand/sit on something, then merging the pics and deleting the support object.
Took this while driving along the seawall in Galveston
I was shooting a wedding and my assistant was following the bride and groom in their rented classic car.
I barely had time to snap this. Wish I could have gotten out of the window to do it.
I just discovered that I really like the concept of putting two pictures next two each other, do you guys know of any photographers who specialized in this or just some good examples of it? Would be nice to see how pros do it.

I really like your photography. Your pics are all so interesting to me.Some photos from more recent trips.
The light here is wonderful
So soft
Are you using a box diffuser or a bounce?
And what lens are you using? 24 prime? 35 prime?
Those are my first time playing with something completely top lit. It's a 60 inch octabox on a boom directly above the model. Just the one light. Lens is Canon 24-105 f/4. I don't own any primes.

I expect she's sitting on something that's attached to the tree in the background and hidden by her body. Her obscured right arm also suggests she's balancing herself on something that runs into the background.
Well, it looks excellent.
And that lens looks super sharp. Maybe it's just the resizing. That was my first lens with the 5DII and I wasn't pleased with it, but that was back when I lacked experience.
I've always found mine to be super sharp. I use the 5DII now, and used to use it with the 60D. I generally prefer my 70-200 2.8 II now, but I still use the 24-105 in tighter locations.
Guess: those chile and Argentina shots are awesome
Mahzkrieg: nice! how many weddings have you done? How did yo go about doing your first one?
From me just thought I'd copy/paste over my iphone 5 product style shots from the iPhone thead:
The background out of focus? A large aperture telephoto lens shot wide open at a subject that is relatively close. How do I achieve this kind of effects?

I was talking more about the colour and the washed-out darks. Whenever I try this in post, it looks bizarre...
Desaturate a little, lower the black levels and birgthen the highlights a little maybe.I was talking more about the colour and the washed-out darks. Whenever I try this in post, it looks bizarre...
Just bought a new Canon 600D. Haven't really done much with it yet, but I did take this earlier as I was testing it out a bit.
A question...
How do I achieve this kind of effects?
