Photos from the last quarter

An old pic and one I took a few hours ago:

I really like this shot, but I think it's hurt slightly by the guy walking across and the bird. If you could clone them out, I think it'd look better.

A few from about a month ago at one of those European Market-style garage sales:

And one from the beach, a goodbye to summer:

Gallery Link for those that want to see them in a larger size.

The two color photos were from a badly under-developed roll of film. My chemistry need to be replenished and I didn't test it before use. Still, it came out OK I guess :(

I also started to shoot black and white.

Some randoms from a state park this morning. I struggle to make landscapes interesting.

Those air ballon pics are awesome

I was filming a skydiving event this weekend, managed to take a some pics during a break

Nice detail in the shot, what lens did you get if you dont mind me asking?

And yes, kinda uninspired. Too much problems in life...

Instagram:

Normally like your work but I'm not sure about the text on these shots if I'm honest. Hope its nothing too serious troubling you.

Got to love fast prime lenses, my 35mm 1.8 is rarely off my camera :)

Yeah i am quite happy on the outcome, later this month i will buy off a awesome Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro lens of my budy, he says it is a perfect copy.

Shit, thats not a good 2 weeks at all man. Really hope things pick up for you soon

Went on a trip to northern Wisconsin with my dad last week for my birthday and took some shots. This is one I took and cropped to make my wallpaper, no editing other than that. Fujifilm F31fd.

These are looking amazing! Not going to quote them all, but wow.

Hopefully one day I'll be able to get some awesome shots like those. I'm actually getting my first camera in a few weeks. Not entirely sure what I'm going to get though.

Can anyone recommend a good book on photo design principles? I understand the technical workings of a camera, things like the rule of thirds and basic composition, but would like to read up more on things like lines, repetition, texture, etc.

Oh, and this is awesome.

hEist, I feel ya man. Been a rough couple weeks here as well. I'm glad to see your talent hasn't been affected, and for what it's worth seeing your new pictures makes my day a little better.

Haven't been doing much lately.

I've never posted pictures in one of these before, but what the hell. Just finished this a few minutes ago.

I was messing around in my room one night and made these 30 sec exposures. Took hours but were a load of fun experimenting with the lights and trying to hold the various poses

Loving the light in the mornings right now

Edit: Got my film I shot in Japan back developed today so i'll spam it here a bit i guess :)

All shot with a Nikon FE with a 50mm 1.8f and Ilford HP5+ film

Apologies in advance, learning a new camera and trying to remember how to work Lightroom at the same time. I'm going to a tattoo convention next weekend, should be much more interesting to shoot compared to my street. :)

Friends and family, in my case my kids make for great models lol.

I went to a friend's wedding today, not hired but as a guest so i only took my Nex 5 with me along with my 50mm 1.8 canon, since i use a cheap adapter i can't change the aperture an it's fixed at 1.8. There was an official photographer so i tried to take as little pics as possible and i took most from my table :P , i did manage to get closer at times but i didn't want to be THAT guy getting in the way of the photographer.
It was a nice opportunity to try this particular combo, it's always hard to manual focus using live view but i'm quite happy with the results, i don't think i screwed up any of the important stuff i was trying to capture.

Here are three captures.

What do you think? I have to say i'm quite happy with the results given the circumstances, it was also my first wedding even if i wasn't the actual photographer lol.

You guys....man...

I've missed looking at some of these! Heist (hope other stuff works out for you, dude), wispy, still at it with the impactful shots I see.

And lots of great GREAT images here.

Alterno69: Love those wedding shots. Those could easily be pro level (the main key would be that consistently throughout!).

Lots of other great shots, but just want to mention a nod to randomrosso's ant, and Crunched's frog in grass. I love those shots in particular.

MEh, I really don't have much to contribute, since I don't get out to photograph much any more, but I try to get fleeting shots when I can.

Playing with my new (ish) EF 40mm pancake:

Just got back from the Southwest and picked 4 photos I particularly liked. Not post on these, really - other than cleaning up a little dust captured by the lens. Anything I should do with these shots?

Nice. I love how crisp and defined everything is. My eyes could wander through this photo forever.

Cool, dude. I shot two weddings this summer, which was an incredible experience, both for the gratification of catching some great shots on an important day, and for how it pushed me as a photographer. I learned A LOT. Like you, my first experience was being 'that guy,' taking photos at one of my best friends' weddings. After seeing my photos, the couple urged me to think about doing weddings, and, well... here I am.

Great job on your shots. I especially love the photo I quoted. I looks like you did a good job of capturing the bride and groom, with lots of genuine emotion. Thanks for posting these!

Thanks, i focused on the couple since they're my friends and that was ok in my book since i was not the only one shooting them, it would've been weird if i started shooting their relatives since i was just another friend there lol. Also, it was awesome to capture such emotions, i realize i really enjoy photographing this kind of events.

I do want to do this for a living so it's nice to see other people appreciating my pics.

My new D600 will be in my hands this Friday.
I also got the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 HSM.

Really can't wait.
I have been a long time Canon user and this will be my first Nikon camera ever.
Will have a lot to learn about the Nikon system and user experience.

Just received my new T3i and I've already fallen in love with it, I've been overdue for a DSLR upgrade for a good long while now. I'm still getting a grasp on some of the more minor creative control features.

Here are a few examples of my recent favorites, nothing particularly impressive so far, most of my photos have come out a little grainier at low ISO's than I'd like. Maybe it has something to do with my post processing...

Congrats on the new camera!

I have the Nikon D600, haven't used my Nikon D90 since. I also have been using the Nikon 24-70 2.8, such an awesome combo.
