When do y'all think Nintendo will announce the next batch of WiiU games? Think we'll hear something just after Christmas?

And when do you think Capcom will speak up about their other WiiU games?

Thanks for the tip. I was able to get to system settings. It just took 5 minutes to load.

Dear god. Maybe the games are much the same way. They're just taking a long time to load. You might want to flat out restore the system but I don't know what that does to your NNID.

it keeps it playing in the background (if you want) and is always on the top screen, as a popup of sorts, regardless of what tab you are in.

youtube works very well too as others have said

I used it and I tried making new dummy NNIDs also. It seems if you use the copy feature theres some type of bug with it.

Hm, okay. I called NoA and made a new support ticket. I told the guy that it appears to be an issue with 3DS transfer, and that other people have this problem. Of course they couldn't do anything about it right now.

Thanks! :D

Got this home last night, had some time to try it out. Loving NSMBU, and Nintendo land is pretty cool, though I think that one's better in a big group, rather than just me and my wife.
Gamepad works fine just about anywhere in my house, (which isn't very big,) but it does start to complain about the connection being unstable in my bedroom. Oh well.

Thinking about taking some trade credit to Gamestop today to get Scribblenauts. Not sure if I want to get a disc copy or Wii Shop cards for a digital download.

Gonna set mine up when i get home from work today. Only bought NSMBU. I plan getting either Wii or Virtual Console titles I never played because I sold my Wii really early on. Stuff like SMG1 and 2, Xenoblade, Paper Mario, DK Country Returns etc and of course the classics on Virtual Console. Will keep me happy till better Wii U titles arrive.

Why does it take so long to load a game? I don't even mean the game title screen loading. I mean from the moment you put in the disc to when it is able to even start loading. You just stare at the motionless screen. At least on the Wii, you had that spinning disc icon to know that something was happening.

After one day?

Give it at least until after Black Friday to see how this system is being received.

That isn't a good indicator, any new device will sell shitloads this/next week. I think watching it through the rest of December will be the litmus test.

Well, i had to cancel my Wii U preorder. Im not gonna lie, reading the threads and posts about all the problems...it sounds like a disaster. I'll wait for the inevitable price drop, and hopefully Nintendo would've sorted their shit by then.

Can't totally blame you, though in my own personal experience it hasn't been bad so far. Aside from that super long initial update :/.

I love mine so far. Other then the long update, I bought this to play games, and we just played 5 hours of multi player Nintendo land and nsmbu yesterday, everyone came out really happy. I'll worry about losing my account or the ram issue if it affects me, but so far it hasn't at all.

Would have really liked for there to have been a JRPG for the launch. This thing is going to gather dust until my daughter can play Rayman Legends at Xmas.

JRPGs rarely launch with systems, and the ones that do are usually very poor in quality. That said, nowadays I'm just happy when a decent JRPG releases in the US at all. Even in Japan, though, RPGs rarely launch with systems.

Not saying it couldn't have happened nowadays, perhaps with a port of a game for a prior system, but early in system life JRPGs like Arcana, Beyond the Beyond, and Lagoon didn't exactly tear up the charts. PS2 launched with several, but those were Summoner, Evergrace, Eternal Ring, and Orphen: Scion of Sorcery. The best I can say for any of those is that Summoner was where I first saw a take on the classic D&D sketch by the Dead Alewives.

Seeing shit getting transfered has never been entertaining. Honestly, why the hell did they spend time making a fantasting transfer screen, complete with depth of field effects and whatnot, rather than polish up some of the more glaring issues the system has?

Priorities, I guess. "Gotta have dem Pikmin!"

So you're saying OS-engineering, graphical programmers and design is really done by the same person?

I can't connect to wireless. It sees my router but i get error 103-1003 on automatic setup and error 103-2004 when trying manual.

Long update times and delays in loading applications/games are two of the bigger ones that I know of. Also a lot of hand wringing over third party ports of dubious quality.

I love the browsers ability to play a video in one tab and still be able to post on gaf in another.
Its a simple thing any PC can do but even tablets/phones have trouble doing it if they can do it at all.

Someone please start a thread about 1080p output of Wii games... with pics!! Sounds like a pretty big deal that got drowned out about 12 pages back.

The OS responsiveness really doesn't make sense with how fast the browser is..

I think there's going to be a patch for that too awfully soon.

Huh, that's pretty cool. Haven't had much time to play around with the browser yet.

Has there been any word specifically as to when the Youtube, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Video apps are releasing? Can't believe those and TVii aren't there at launch when they are on the main menu by default.

I feel kinda bad hoping that my shipped Deluxe system doesn't arrive until later this week. It's almost as if I hope they release another big patch before I experience the system for the first time.

Did five player Nintendo Land at my friend's place for a few hours, so much damn fun. The Animal Crossing game is probably my favorite.

NSMBWU is a good time, but just a Wii game in HD.

dunno, but youtube works extremely well in the browser itself.
It doesnt really need an app. Its fully featured and very fast. Im impressed with it.

5 minutes might be an exaggeration. I pressed the button and went elsewhere about 5 minutes to see if it loaded. Before I waited 1 to 2 minutes with no change, so I can't say the exact time. If the games were taking along time to load, it was way worse, since I gave them 10 minutes before I gave up.

Mario loaded up pretty quickly once the update reinstalled, hopefully this won't be a daily exercise.

So, my brothers and I made a last-minute decision to get a Wii U at launch. We ran out in the middle of the day and picked up one of the 32GB/black units (in downtown Toronto). Took it back to their place, got it updated/patched within about 30 minutes, and then played a bunch of Nintendo Land. Totally amazing. We were laughing a lot. Hilarious stuff.

So, a question. We'll primarily be using the system for multiplayer gaming (3-5 people). We like both co-op stuff and competitive stuff. Besides Nintendo Land and NSMBU, are there any high-quality launch window multiplayer games for 3-5 people?

Okay guys got a question here,

The Wii U menu is barren, only showing the typical Nintendo messages like "go online and see what your friends are playing!" Though I'm already connected to the internet.

Is there a way to see the more populated and interesting Wii U menu features, am I doing something wrong? Is there something I need to activate?

Anyone that could help me with this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I hope they update the eShop soon. I don't see any section for game addon content. They did for the 3DS eShop after a while. Curious if it gets it's own section though or if another tab/section is added to the individual game pages.

Nintendo Land. While playing I couldn't help but notice I was smiling the entire time. Even when the Takamaru Castle game was annoying me a little. Same feeling I have when I go to amusement parks. Job well done Nintendo. I get what you were going for when you made the initial presentation of Nintendo Land.

I'm hoping the plaza will be updated soon. Perhaps that feature isn't turned on just yet because there were issues with the Miiverse last night? Maybe it takes a while for games to trend and their popularity to calculate?

I wouldn't worry too much, mine has worked pretty much flawlessly since I bought it, ran for like 8 hours yesterday, got lots of updates for my games and for the system.

To buy a $60 game, I have to add $50 to my wallet, then add another $10? Well played, Nintendo. I know that's how it was on the 3DS as well, but being given the option to select my own amount, or to be able to select $60, (the price of most games,) would have been nice.

EDIT: Never mind, just found the "Pay remainder using Credit Card" feature.

You mean the Wara Wara Plaza on screen?

Yeah, I'd like to start seeing more info and posts from people instead of Nintendo's default messaging on the core apps.
