I like that Loco Roco is one of the only stages that doesn't have a character representing it in the roster. It bodes well for future DLC stages that aren't beholden to a character rep, although I'd love to have a Hekkesville stage for Kat.

I'm hoping to see a Dark Cloud, Omega Boost, Colony Wars, and Ghosthunter stage. We need a nice, spooky, atmospheric stage from either GH or Medievil.

All the characters are really fleshed out, it's awesome :D I'll probably get killed for this but smash just feels basic after.

I don't know about basic, but I think the characters and the moves are a lot more inventive than in Smash. It's not just weak attack, strong attack, and specials. It's more like the moves are all specials. Up Triangle doesn't have to be a slower, stronger version of up Square. It can be pretty much anything.

Smash started experimenting with that kind of stuff in Brawl, with stuff like aerial normals that affected trajectories and Snake's smashes, but PSAS kinda takes it all the way.

The learning curve for PSAS characters is somewhere in between Smash and Street Fighter. In Smash, I can pretty much jump in with any character and have some general idea of what I'm doing within a few seconds. If I want to do a powerful forward attack, I should do a forward smash. If I have a projectile, I should probably just tap B. If I need to recover, it's probably up B.

But in Street Fighter, I probably have to mess around in training mode for a bit and remember which inputs are relevant to this character, and then I might have some vague idea of what I'm doing. This character uses charge back-forward kick and down-up punch, but not back-forward punch or down-up kick, and also has a qcf punch but not a qcf back, and...

In PSAS, I know my character's gonna have 12 main attack inputs, so there's no need to experiment with quarter-circles and SRKs and charges and remember which ones apply to which characters, but it does take a bit of experimenting to figure out what exactly those 12 attacks are, not to mention how they're different in the air. I think it's cool that they have a character like Jak who doesn't even have a standard punch combo.

Anyone know what Hiehachi's Down Circle does?

Hold it down to charge. Charge it all the way and your hands will glow red making your next attack give you more ap (maybe double). You can also hit square while charging to do a thrust attack with good range and crumple.

Learning basic smash is much easier than this.

Except for the bolded, it's pretty much this. However, getting used to the technical stuff in Brawl is much harder than what you could find here.

A friend of mine tried psabr yesterday. He use heihachi and ask me why the ewgf input didnt work.

133 AP Combo for Dante:

1 - 1 - 1 - D1->2->S3->U1(hold) - 1(air) -1(air) - 1(air)
Alternatively
1 - 1 - 1 - D1->2->S3->U1(hold) - 1(air) -1(air) - U1(air) - D1(air)

It's kind of hard to pull of though, and if they land on a platform it won't work.

A more simple Combo that nets 80 AP:

1 - 1 - 1 - U1(Hold) - 1(air) - 1(air) - 1(air)
Alt
1 - 1 - 1 - U1(Hold) - 1(air) - 1(air) - U1(air) - D1(air)

I use this more often.

There are ways to do more stylized combos, but they usally don't net more ap and are harder to pull off in the FFA chaos.
Anyone else have some Dante tips and advices?

Kind of wish he had more moves to cancel into, and I haven't found much use of his guns yet (besides some combo potential).

1 = Square
2 = Triangle
3 = Circle
U = Up
D = Down
S = Side
-> = Cancel into

EDIT: Btw sorry if I was hard to game with yesterday, got stuck in practice mode, will be easier to get hold of next week :p.

Yeah, that's my only gripe with stages in this game, after the initial reveal with Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf on Sandover Village and the Patapons in Hades i expected way more stages/mashups of franchises that don't have a character rep, instead of several franchises getting a stage and a mashup.

Freaking awesome, thanks.

Man, I'm beat. NeoGaf folks are brutal. But as they say, you level up by playing better people right? Gah. I definitely need some Toro advice. It still feels like I'm wandering in the dark, not sure what to do. Or maybe he's not my character. I like the little guy though.

GG Psy , that Nariko match went on for way to long i think you should have got closer and gained ap that way. You practically set me up for a lvl 3 running away and doing the swing.

I know, but I was trying to get more kills in before you stunned me with Spike's little gadget. You're too good at this! Hahah.

He's probably my favorite for the moment. I have a feeling he's going to be far more complicated than I first thought now that I know about henshin cancels.

Great games with batmandarkknight and AnkiRendan. Had fun facing your Toro and Raiden. Who's considered Gaf's best? I want him/her in a 1v1.

yup! had fun. definitely enjoyed learning your Raiden. :p i need to get used to parrying and timing that up square of his. deadly stuff once executed alright.

and damn! 3x ap overtime is INTENSE.

I haven't fought much players here. But I friggin HATE smithnco's Sackboy. I can seriously never get near him. -,- I think that was him

... lies! your nariko is great!

I love this game. I've always had fun with Smash, but never got serious into it. I can see myself getting into this really deep, though. Got the guide and spent most of the day playing with friends.

That's why i feel, that PSA failed to provide an easy jump-in gameplay in comparison to Smash Brothers. PSA has some deep to it and can't hide it well enough, so that it looks and plays much more harder for beginners. Nintendo's game, which is one of the strong points of the company, look and feel very simple, but have a lot of deep hidden under the curtain (which is also a curse, since this fact let the game lose credits in the competitive scene "lol Party-Game"). This shows that Smash has a much more elegant and smarter gamedesign in this category.

Just did a marathon 1v1. Evil Cole vs Raiden. It was a blockfest, I think 1v1 isn't that good of a idea for tournaments. The direction you block isn't autocorrected so it's a mess when you roll or the other person roll. You have to stop blocking to adjust yourself.

P.S. I hate Raiden's Super1. Also his super 2 almost seem like a level 3.

I really try to enjoy the FFA in this game, but I just can't.

It's too sloppy compared to teams or 1v1.

1v1v1 is more playable. In FFA, there is even more uncontrollable chaos.
So it's less likely the best person will actually win.

Are there any character guides up yet? Lol

IGN has a wiki where they include videos that went through the strategies for each character. I think they did the videos with Superbot.

I can't see anything about in in the OP/FAQs and I can't test it as my UK digital copy doesn't unlock until midnight :-(

Can someobody let me know if the local multiplayer lets you sign other players in on different PSN accounts, or if that is possible if you both wish to play online together on the same PS3 using different PSN accounts?

Cheers
