Not related to this new game but for all the lovers of the Jump series, Gambarion more recently released One Piece Gigant Battle 1 & 2 for DS, the first has been released in EUR too so it is available in ENG, while the 2nd is JP only.

Those 2 games are really good and borrow a lot of elements from the Jump series, definitely the closest thing to Smash Bros on any portable device.

Any fan of One Piece or Jump should check those out.

Didn't bandai publish the jump games?

No.

It was Nintendo.

Seeing that the prices are 3DS and Wii U, I'm going with 3DS and Wii U for the platforms, with some kind of connectivity.

Prizes don't really mean anything since there's even a Walkman. If it was Nintendo exclusive why would Nintendo not be the publisher?

how do you know the prices?

I think he meant prizes.

I'm sure there are games exclusive to Nintendo that they don't publish. IIRC they didn't publish (in Japan) Layton, Inazuma, DQIX, DQX, MHTri, MH3G, MH4, KH 3DS, Bravely Default, etc

Imported the first JSS, fuck region locks.

maybe Vita is dead and Sony will introduce a walkman handheld game console...

Make it a smartphone and we can start talking.

But a follow up to a game Nintendo did publish?

1) Are you sure Nintendo is not publishing this?
2) Give me some games that Nintendo did publish (in Japan). Actually is Nintendo publishing all iterations of MH, Inazuma, Layton, DQ, etc games in the west?

Yes, on the scan it says Namco Bandai Games (株式会社バンダイナムコゲームス) is the publisher. As for your second comment I'm not sure what that has to do with this game. Those are third party franchises Nintendo has published outside of Japan. Nintendo co-created the JUMP Stars games with Ganbarion. They're listed as a copyright holder on both websites for the games.

It'll probably just be One Piece, DragonBall and Toriko sadly.
But please, for god sake, none of

The second point was to see how Nintendo treats 3rd party franchises with them publishing them.

And iff Nintendo is a copyright holder, then it's pretty obvious the game will be on a Nintendo platform.

I'm saying this game (Project Versus J) probably isn't Nintendo exclusive because Namco Bandai is publishing it. If it were another entry in the JUMP Stars series (which were Nintendo exclusive) Nintendo would be publishing it.

I hope Nintendo will release a new Jump ... Stars game. The combat system was amazing...

At this point? I'd honestly rather Ganbarion and Nintendo made either a) an entirely original game using that combat engine (thus making it so it could be marketed worldwide) or b) they just used another property that wouldn't have problems being marketed worldwide.

I mean, as long as region lock is in place, I say, let's move Ganbarion on to developing such games that won't be restricted to one region.

...Anyway. Count me in on hoping for the PS3/Wii U.

Prizes may not mean anything, but it's odd to give away a console if you can't play the game with it. And there are exclusive games which are not published by Nintendo. IIRC the One Piece Unlimited games were published by Bandai-Namco and were exclusives to Wii, weren't they? This could be the same situation.

btw, is it confirmed the game is being developed by Ganbarion? Maybe it's a different kind of game, not a Jump Super Stars 3.

Yep. Nintendo would most likely still publishing like they've always been if it was exclusive. And I doubt Namco would make it exclusive just for the hell of it, especially after all they made off of One Piece Musou (and are going to make off the sequel). There's a ray of hope after all.

I hope it's on a Sony console. Fuck Nintendo and their region locking bullshit.

Gintama and Katekyo Hitman Reborn characters please! I'd like Yoh from Shaman King and Train or Eve from Black Cat as well. =D I can't believe they'd reveal Toriko over Naruto though...I mean seriously?

Oh, and Battle Stadium D.O.N was ass. Such a huge disappointment.

So...it's safe to start caring? Neat.

Namco's been pretty good about localizing lately too. Probably won't happen though, given the licensing issues.
The problem is that it's probably either published by Nintendo, region locked and good, or published by NBGI (do we actually really know that's the case?), possibly not region locked and probably bad. My money at this point is on region locked and bad.

Can we get some medeka box and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan?

Edit:Wait a second do we even know if this is a fighting game like jump stars? Cause if its not I don't care what system its on or about region lock because i'm just not gonna be interested in it.

It should be a fighting game.
But don't expect it to be like Jump Stars.

There's an additional scan floating around. That Goku render reminds me of Spike Chunsoft's work. Uh oh...

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
I'm confused.

When it says "request characters", are we sure it's talking about Shonen Jump characters, or characters from One Piece/DB/Toriko? This is striking me as another Don Battle.

But if it is open to Jump Stars overall, just give me Yugi, Kinnikuman, BoBoBo, and Gintoki and I'll be set.
